  1. A 950lb safe is too heavy for standard residential floor construction unless its footprint is bigger than 3x3ft. While not ideal for all the reasons mentioned, I wouldnt put it on anything other than concrete. Just manage the moisture. Would 2 smaller safes work better than one huge one?

  2. I'd never seen anyone try to demonstrate using a firearm for self defense against a dog so I thought about what it would take. Luckily, I got in touch with a group that trains working dogs for military/police and they let me come out to get attacked. This was all new to me and I wanted the stress inoculation of experiencing what it was like for a dog to be latched on to my arm and to try and deploy a firearm. Anyway, I hope someone learns something. YouTube video here.

  3. That’s the standard blue label program. This temporary program does cover folks like us who didn’t do 20.

  4. If you just have to break up a fight and there are no leads on the dog, try and grab rear legs and keep moving. Stay away from the business end.

  6. In case y’all weren’t aware, I love the FN FAL. It was the best .308 battle rifle fielded in the 20th century and is still serving military and police units around the world. Here is some awesome footage of Brazilian police using a FAL in an aerial interdiction of a fugitive.

  7. Short backstory, my cousin passed away last year of colon cancer at the age of 45. He left behind a wife and two young daughters. He was an avid hunter and his father was able to sell most of the guns he had with the exception of this one. I assume due to its high value most locals looking at adds in the bulletin board just aren't looking for this quality and expense. So my question is, where would you all expect it to sell price wise. I'm thinking about purchasing the gun myself to then resell. This would get the money to his wife and kids that need it most and then I could resell and not be in a rush. But I can't really afford to take a big loss, so opinions of price and how easily you think it would sell here on the board. This gun has only been fired to sight in scope and shoot one antelope. Less than 10 rounds total fired. Main questions are 1) separate scope and gun for easier sale? 2) is price too high, if so what's reasonable ask? They're asking $2,500 obo Weatherby Mark V - Ultralight 26" 300 Wby Magnum, stainless fluted barrel - New Price $2,500 Leupold VX-3 4.5-14x50 - New Price $875, discontinued available on amazon for $480 Share thoughts please

  8. Blew the guys flip flop right off. I agree that I am not sure this is the best way to resolve this situation. I like my .308, but it doesn't come close to a .50BMG for stopping engines dead. I think the shot to the guys leg (?) was what really stopped the car, not the hood shots.

  9. I assembled a 5.56 10.5" barreled AR pistol last month and Gez, these little guys are so fun to handle, I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner! Heres the write up incase some missed it.

  10. Yeah, I got side tracked on some faded bucket list script. I only have some parts right now like a right hand handle cocking upper and a sweet KAK barrel that's 16" but will get chopped to about 10" @ $133 shipped and gorgeous bore but they put a 1/2 x 28 thread on the end that is dam near into bore ID! Must have been a mistake and that's why there so cheap. Biggest mod will be grafting a MAC 10 mag well into a uncut AR lower mag well. I have about 15 or so grease gun mags. I bet the guy that designed AK mags got the idea of how heavy duty they need to be after looking at a grease gun mag. Loaded or empty, you could bludgeon something to death with it. With todays levels of frustration, there is something satisfying about that

  11. I went. Very few tables, few dealers, a couple of traders. Apparently a good number of the traders with pistols got cleaned out pretty early Saturday, leaving more empty tables. Not sure if Lebanon show pulled folks away, but certainly not the expected crowd level mid day Saturday. Some prices fair, some out of line, even for the election run up.

  12. EXCELLENT choice! My wife loves it! Of course it might have something to do with the fact the first time she heard it was when my college roomie came out of the shower in a towel and dancing around to it. lol

  14. Definitely put it in the garage, especially if it’s 950 lbs. You can always get a smaller safe that would fit in a closet for your “need to get them quick” guns.

  15. I found this video to be more captivating than the song. This one is actually #3 in a 10 song series that details several generations of the fictional Sparks family. If you go back and watch them all, it plays like a mini movie. It's a good time-suck for about an hour of your day if you choose to go down the rabbit hole. The story is a tragic telling of the horrors of addiction.

  18. This ^^. You will get more money. Most people who are interested in the rifle will put their own scope on it so they won't be willing to give you the value of the rifle and the scope together. You have to throw in the scope for free because they are going to put it up on a shelf and put a swaro, kahles, or nightforce on it. I am not sure where you got the $2500 from but the rifle is listing brand new on the weatherby website for $1999 and are listed on gunbroker for as low as $1750. Maybe I am looking at the wrong model. I would try and get $1500 for the rifle. List it either on gunbroker or perhaps another hunting website that people who hunt out west use like the long range hunting website. List the scope on here or some other shooting/hunting forum for $350 maybe $400 or even better list on ebay with a starting bid of $350 and see how high it goes.

  19. One more reason why Trump is not some kind of Second Amendment messiah. National Reciprocity is not going to allow someone from TN to carry a gun in NY, CA, etc. It will only make it harder to carry here.
