I went and got one. Did some hacking and sawing on a log. So far, so good. For $8.73 after coupon and tax it will make a fine “truck knife”.4 points

Alright, confession time, who here, has walked into Harbor Freight and saw this knife, for $9.99 and walked out with it? I’m sure there are more than just me. I purchased this some 10 years ago and it’s never been used. I’m sure it would make a fantastic light crowbar. And the sheath must be the crappiest of all time! Anyone that purchased it, actually use it to perform a task of any kind?3 points

I don't think the governor wants constitutional Carry or it would been pushed harder. Just talk and no action.3 points

I've enjoyed getting together with TGO'ers every time I've had the opportunity. I've often thought, more so lately.... that we should have (verrrry loosely organized) TGO get togethers once or twice a year or something? In my past life I was a founding member of a big Saltwater reef aquarium club, and we'd have get togethers at each others homes every other month (because you can't haul a 210 gal reef tank to O'Charleys parkinglot). As is the way with strangers over the internet, it fell out of fashion (for good reason, someone got robbed - they stole corals out of the guys tank when family was at work/school). When I was a member at ORSA, one could reserve the clubhouse for free for gatherings and invite non-club members (a temporary gate-code was generated). Maybe someone rent/reserve a pavillion at a local town/state park (that allows permit holders to carry)? Admission = chip in a couple bucks and someone buys the hotdogs and charcoal? Bring a dish-to-pass/bag 'o chips, drinks are on you? Maybe you meet 2-4 people you 'know' online and invite them to your home next weekend if so inclined. Between things these days and us all being gun owners I strongly discourage inviting total strangers into your home. It would be a great way to network like-minded folks, and put a face to the name you've been bantering with online for the past #-years! And then maybe more than 4-5 of you will know thats really not me in the avatar, lol! - K3 points

My Dad bought about a dozen of the black and camo ones when I was a kid. He took them to work and sharpened them up in the machine shop. I cut down many a sapling with the saw back. I still have a black one somewhere plus a blade for one I found and improvised a handle for. Best knife I ever had was a kbar knockoff my Papaw found beside the road. Dad still carries it to hunt. In fact we field dressed my deer last December with it. That thing takes a dang nice edge. Blade looks almost Damascus from the staining of the rust that was on it.2 points

I picked up one that looks like that at a gunshow at teh Nashville fairgrounds years ago. Mine came with some stuff stowed in the handle, fishing line, hooks, etc...I never used it but i still have it somewhere...maybe in the car emergency kit. My go to fixed blade though is a Gerber LMF II Infantry.2 points

I love me some Outlaws. Green Grass and High Tides is one of my faves. The problem is this band had so many hidden gems like this that rarely get any air time. Good guitar work on this song..2 points

I've owned a 4" blue Ruger Security Six for many years. Great gun! I've had a 2.75" model on my wish list for more years than I care to count. The darn things are hard to come by and often sell at ridiculous prices. About a week ago, one popped up on the local Armslist. I sent the guy an e-mail, but unfortunately had to leave for a doctor's appointment. By the time I got back, it was gone. Likewise, I found a nice blue one on GB just a few days ago. It ended up selling for way more than I was willing to give. But this morning I finally scored! Another one popped up on Armslist. Surprised me because two in as many weeks is unheard of. In fact, these are the first Security Sixs listed in over a year. I texted the guy, we made arrangements and I came home with this. It came with Pachmyer Grippers on it. I hate those. I dug around in the wood pile and came up with a set of factory targets. The pic doesn't really show it, but they're rough as a cob. Oh well, they'll do until I can find something better. I really would have preferred a blue gun, but beggars can't be choosers. I'm happy with it! Anyway, I hope to get it to the range soon. Range report pending.2 points

If an incident happened that way, that isn’t at all how the headline would read.2 points

Approximately 7 weeks ago I sent the slide from my 4.25" duty-size M&P M2.0 9mm to Doug Presson at DP Custom Works to have their GAB 4.0 package and a fresh jet-black nitride finish applied to it. Today, it came back and I quickly reassembled it with a Trijicon RM07 red dot, 10-8 Performance sights (M&P front, Glock rear) and an Apex Tactical Specialties striker safety plunger. I am ambivalent about the Apex trigger on the M2.0 series so I have skipped that for now. They look good for social media but I built this to be a fighting gun. Some time ago I smoothed out the area beneath the trigger guard for my middle finger to stop giving myself callouses from how tightly I grip the gun, and I added some very simple, functional "indexing points" on for my support hand thumb. I wasn't trying to win any beauty pageants with that stuff, so if you think it looks like crap... good. I expect this cheap ole M&P to perform just as well as any of the guns that I have that were 3x as expensive as it. Talk about making a guy question his purchasing decisions.1 point

Picked this up from a local guy for 3 bones and was surprised it had gutter tritium sights. That's a $150 option but the tritium was depleted so I milled out the glass a tiny bit enough for some paint and put color in them. Then I figured I'd give it a barrel flute job and put a .090 deep radius cut down both top barrel edges. These are true pocket pistols and sized it over a Rossi 88 that's about the best S&W M60 clone out there. These little 32acp guns are not bad hitters with Underwood copper 55g loads. It came with a nice leather pocked holster + spare 6 rd mag. I put a mirror polish on the slide sides and barrel. That red in the slide pic is my red flannel shirts reflection. I guess I should shoot this soon. The other 32 Guardian has light rifling and doesent stabilize the bullets as good as can be but this one looks like it has much more defined lands & grooves.1 point

I bought the cheaper version years ago. I leave it hanging on the pegboard in the shop. I use it to cut up old clothes into rags and other hacking uses that I wouldn't use a good knife on.1 point

Oh, I've been to the range numerous times, but I've been playing with a 20 Practical and 6x45 I built this past spring as well as a 22/250 I've neglected and never got a good load for. Target says I was just too stubborn to realize the 22/250 didn't like the bullets I was wanting to use.1 point

The older Dodge Rams with the Cummins were exceptional trucks {2001 model]. Now with all the electronics not so much. Too many electronic glitches to cause problems. Old diesels all you needed was good compression, clean fuel and clean air. Now every thing is controlled by emission electronics and they are money pits.1 point

Lmao @Chucktshoes I hate the inside of pumpkins, too. They're a customer of mine, usually get there 3-4x per week. Waiting to see this new kid. Size-wise the team does not impress me, but then I'm biased.1 point

I've got several rimfire's that don't get shot much, if any. 2 Annies from the mid -80's and some 10/22's. It may have been 6 months since I shot my R700, but can't really say for sure w/o looking at the targets.1 point

I have several that don't get shot often. Some may for years between range visits. But they do get shot once in a while.1 point

Range Report: Just got back from the range. First thing I discovered was that the previous owner had the rear sight cranked all the way down. But once I got it adjusted, all was well. I put about 150 rounds through it. A mixed bag ranging from .38 Specials to full house .357s. No problems. In fact the gun is kinda boring. Goes bang every time and hits where pointed. Although I do tend to pull right just a bit in DA shooting. But, I was planning to change the grips anyway and that should fix that. Overall, I'm very pleased with it.1 point

That much towing on a daily basis, I’d be looking at a 3/4 ton diesel.1 point

I would go with a 3/4 ton since you tow over 3 tons basically every day. 3/4 ton will do the job w/o issue.1 point

One day I want the story to say " Armed individuals with gang affiliation began firing at each other, but armed bystanders killed or subdued all of them in order to prevent them from harming others. Police arrived later to take the attackers into custody"1 point

Unless there is a war or an IPSC competition, isn’t a shooting usually an isolated incident? You’ve gotta love today’s reporting.1 point

Graig Graziosi, the "reporter" who wrote that story is a lefty that would be better suited writing left wing propaganda. Just look up some of his other stories, just full of left leaning comments. Really, into a crowd? A simple look into the video shows Grosskreutz was all by himself, with the closest guy already mortally wounded a few feet away and another several feet away backing up. Anymore I have to research the source more than the story to figure out how much salt I have to take with the story. Still, IMO, even if it is him, and that is questionable, how does that change all the video evidence of the Kenosha incident, none, none whatsoever. It certainly doesn't mark him as a white supremist, as Biden and all the left, has alledged him to be.1 point

Is there a police report to go along with that video? Is there some other evidence other than the video that says Rittenhouse was there? Hopefully the mainstream "news" media didn't go off half-cocked, like they typically do these days. I looked at a picture of Rittenhouse with glasses on and then watched that embedded Twitter video several times. I couldn't say without a doubt that's Rittenhouse and I don't believe the "news" media could either. It's pretty irresponsible of "news" media to reach down into the dregs of internet rumor just to add to their hit-piece. If this video does in fact NOT involve Rittenhouse I hope he sues them and Twitter, since Twitter edit's content but they allow anything left of Stalin to stay up.1 point

I have read all of the posts in this thread and my views are few. One can never fully plan for the unknown and the unknown is exactly what all Americans are facing. I have done all I can do to prepare for what I think might be the future. That is all I can do. I do believe it is mostly in GODS hands and I say my prayers every night asking GOD to protect America and everyone that is not trying to destroy it. I pray that GOD protects all my family and friends here from harm. I'm expecting the next few months to be a very bumpy ride and when the ride is over that once again we can begin making plans to rebuild what we have left of America to work with. I am expecting the Democrats to do everything legal and illegal to steal this election because they know they don't have a winning plan with an honest vote. They thought they would win in 2016 with a rigged election and they lost. It put them in a total meltdown and they set out to destroy Trump at all costs and they have failed in every case. If Trump does win I sincerely hope that a new House is seated with a Red House and Senate and no Pelosi and no Schumer. I think for the most part the American people have got a good look at what the Democrats have planned for America and it is not good. Lets get out and vote and get rid of them!!1 point

Well said Trip. You know what is odd, people from all over this planet are trying desperately to come into this great country and the little snowflakes and some movie stars are complaining and threatening to leave? Go figure. One thing I know fellows, God is in control and always will be. I never figured it would come to what we may see in a mere 49 days. Keep our country in your prayers, your head on a swivel and your loved ones within arms reach. Lock n' load you have it right, divide and conquer. That btw is the devil's tactic also. Single mom's raising kids, divide the family and it will fail. It was Khrushchev who said we will take over America without firing a shot. He may have been correct.1 point
