We are as prepared as we can be and have been in this mode since the late 90's. I expect it will get even worse than it is now. We live out in the country with like minded neighbors so there is that. I think there will be a problem with supply of goods as well. I don't think there will be a riot problem out here but if goods and services are disrupted that could make it a whole new ballgame. I'm disgusted with half the people in this country and have more compassion for my dogs and treat them better than some scumbag that will try to take our stuff that we have worked so hard for. They say most countries only last a few hundred years and it breaks my heart to think we've fallen so fast since the greatest generation to the weak kneed fools of today.6 points

It sounds like he shot a truck driver in the face. I haven't seen more detail on that, but I suspect he wasn't able to get in that truck and shot the guy for it. The other folks that he hurt and the one he ended up killing were all stuck in a traffic jam that he caused by killing someone he was riding with in another car. You're not simply driving away from anything in a traffic jam. Agreed. As the late Dr. William Aprill once told me, you need to know where the line is that you won't allow to be crossed. He told me that his line was being forced into a vehicle with someone against his will, because the place they are taking you to is most likely the scene of your murder.4 points

Bingo. It would make a bad situation worse. There is actually evidence that the riots are helping Trump. The fact that democrats are not condemning it, and even allowing it to happen, is upsetting a lot of people. Even Don Lemon from CNN said this was a blind spot for Democrats.4 points

Trump and Barr both need to quit making threats they aren’t prepared to back-up; it shows they are weak. These places don’t need military action; they need their local Police to be uncuffed. Those who ordered them to stand down; need to be charged criminally.4 points

While I am probably the last person to know about this, back in August I met a gentleman at the local range who told me that he was having decent luck finding ammo at the local Academy Sports by being there when the doors opened on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. He said those were the days that they typically put out their stock. As luck would have it, I was able to swing by the local Academy in Franklin, TN on a Friday morning about 20 minutes before they opened. When I arrived, there was already a line of almost twenty people along the sidewalk. At the head of this line in the doorway itself was a gathering of folding camp chairs and approximately three older guys that I would estimate to be in their mid 60's to early 70's and their wives. As 9:00AM drew nearer, camp chairs were folded up and hauled to cars and trucks nearby. It seemed like they had done this before. As I stood in line chatting with a guy who walked up at about the same time I did, something was mentioned about the group with the chairs. The gent in the red shirt (in photo) turned to me and sort of smirked behind his face covering and said "Yeah they are the pros. They do this every time." "Oh, they're here weekly?", I asked. "No, they are here every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and always at the head of the line." red shirt replied. "I think they arrive at least an hour early because I've never been able to get here before them. They bring their wives so that they can double-up on whatever the limit is per person, and after they get done you'll usually see them set up over in that other parking lot [he nodded toward the adjacent Verizon Wireless store] with the ammo for sale at a markup. If you're willing to pay about $20 more than what they did, you can leave here today with some ammo." "It rained this morning.", he added. "I hope they got soaked." I am pretty sure he smiled behind his mask, as much as you can tell from a person's eyes, and turned around to continue chatting with the guy in front of him. It was pretty obvious that we were all there for the same reason and that the only people who were fans of the old folks up front were probably the old folks themselves. Viva, Capitalism! At precisely 9:00AM the doors opened and the employee greeting us as we entered made sure to remind us that masks were required because of COVID-10 restrictions, and that we needed to stay 6-feet apart in line. He also reminded us that ammunition sales were back in sporting goods (I suppose for the newcomers) and that there was a limit per person which varied according to what you were buying, but that a clerk would help us as we got there. It took a few minutes for my place in line to wind to the ammo aisle and as I did another customer was passing us on his way out and announced to us all that the pickings were very slim. He wasn't joking. When I got to the head of the line, I was faced with a 3-foot wide section of shelves which were sparsely stocked from the floor to the top. The only calibers that seemed to be left were oddball cartridges and entirely hunting or self-defense quality in small packs. I glanced at the clerk and asked "9mm?" to which he replied "That got cleaned out immediately. We didn't get much of it this time. Sorry." Oh well. I wound my way back to the front of the store empty handed and noted that the cash registers didn't seem very busy. Whatever had been in stock had sold fairly quickly, so there wasn't much for the clerks to do except watch a bunch of us leave without opening our wallets. It dawned on me that this has to be as hard on the retailers as it is on the consumer. As I climbed into my truck outside, I noticed that the old folks had indeed migrated over to the Verizon parking lot and were setting a few things out on the hoods of their cars and trucks. I wondered if anyone was going to actually go pay a steep mark-up for something that had just been purchased for significantly less mere minutes before, and then reminded myself that they probably would have no problem turning a profit that morning. Someone would buy it. Someone always does, whether on the spot or later at a gun show or via ads covertly placed on social media. Like my new friend in the red shirt, I hoped it rained on them. A few hours later I made contact with a buddy of mine who works at a national wholesaler and asked if he could set me up with some 9mm FMJ for training. It didn't hurt too much when he ran my card and told me that I'd have 2,000 rounds in my hands by the end of the week. But even he cautioned me that availability was very volatile right now and that what he had today he could easily be out of tomorrow. We live in weird times.3 points

So they make $20 box per. My time is and gas is worth way more than 6 hours of labor for $20 and if retired, 6 hours is worth more than $20 Poor retirement planning? Tired of eating cat food? Jackoffs whose retirement revolves around the thrill of making $20 or taking advantage of folks? Sad and pitiful.3 points

Yep. My takeaways from this(without actually having witnessed it) are: keep vehicle doors locked keep a gun on me or at least in my vehicle, as much as possible. At minimum, I ALWAYS have my Protech. simply drive away. The chances of him shooting you inside a moving vehicle are lower than if he's made it inside. Getting taken hostage is the worst possible scenario. At that point, start thinking about how you are going to kill said person.3 points

So, how is everyone liking their free 7 month subscription of the NWO? This attempt looks like it may stick? None of us are prepared for what is planned. It is time to recognize this is not a left/right thing. This is top down FUD. The richest folks in the world (most are not found in Forbes) are friends and family, meet regularly, and do business in whatever country they want. The leaders of our country know of the "Fourth Turning" subtitled "What the Cycles of History Tell Us About America's Next Rendezvous with Destiny". Because it aint by chance. We are watching long term plans come to fruition. The plebs will not decide what burns or when. They will be led by the corporate media/social media when the fruit is ripe and the carcass has been cleaned. History does not repeat itself, but it damn sure does rhyme. America has become too expensive and resource intensive to support. They intend to take us down to 3rd world country status in time for agenda 21.3 points

****To be on the actual topic**** I too am glad the murderer is dead. These stories are why I carry. The murderer’s death, the effectiveness of the legal system, and all the other issues are secondary to the fact that a wife and child are now without a husband and father. I can’t be a provider and a protector for my family if I’m not alive. That’s not to blame the victim, but a self reminder to fight with all I’ve got to be there for them.3 points

I can't imagine having nothing better to do with my time, than to sit at Academy 3 days a week, just so I can make a few bucks reselling ammo. That sounds like a miserable retirement.3 points

That's exactly what Antifa wants. I blatant display of fascism in action. Or at least that's how they and the liberal news media would twist it. Its a no win situation which is just as they planned it. It would be a major victory and recruiting tool for Antifa. The only real answer would be for the good people in these troubled areas to stand up in mass, demand and get action from these do nothing politicians. So far that ain't happening. Damned if you do and damned if you don't.3 points

I think everybody needs to be watchful and armed to the teeth. We have simply not seen anything like this here in the US in modern times. As to " Trouble near us "... i have asked myself and orhers the same question. My thinkin (... notice i said " thinking "... which is a combination of hope, analysis, prayer, n experience...), is that " Red States " will stay relatively calm due to the to the law n order influence of " Red State State Government policies ". Blue States will more likely burn due to the same effect. It is my thinkin that the over-arching " Federalism " of US gubt is dead or so weak, it will never be " authoritarian " again. You simply will not see the US military escort kids to de-segregated schools anymore, like i did as a young person. Things are simply too polarized. I do not think that the federal gubt is gonna meddle in any law enforcement (.. Nor lack there of...) in any state... period. It's simply too risky. We have become a loose confederation of " Red " and " Blue " states, where law n order is either provided at the local or state level, or by vigilantism, which i expect to break out in both " Blue " and " Troubled Red " locations (... You know where they are...)... Like others here; im concerned that we seem to be returning to " Dodge City "; but ive come to believe that is exactly where we are. Like others have opined, im somewhat concerned about the effect on the overall economy, and our personal finances as the banking and financial systems sort this division out. We are no longer the " United States "... The "rights without responsibilities crowd of the 60's" and " the children of lower estate " have murdered it; along with plenty of help from the insider political class, and the ultra wealthy plutocracy we have allowed to run wild here in the US. We are now " armed birds of a feather flocking together "... We have no sense of unity. Our concern for our brothers largely depends on where he or she lives, along with our personal ties to them... It is, indeed, very sad and very dangerous. Sigh... sad leroy, the militant isolationist...3 points

I'm a big fan of capitalism and might argue (after consuming a few beers) that there is no such thing as price gouging because a fair price is whatever a buyer is willing to pay and whatever the owner is willing to accept. But these guys are asking for it.2 points

Violent offenders should go to prison….period. Violent offenders that use deadly weapons should not get out. Once you pick up a gun and decide to point it at another human being during the commission of a crime; there should be no coming back from that. Rehabilitate a person like that? You have got to be kidding me. We need much bigger jails and far more prisons. More people will probably be coming to that realization in the coming years.2 points

Good article! This is why the thought of sitting in front of a judge and jury for anything is horrifying to me. We’ve been reduced to the best justice money can buy. It’s also why we have a thread discussing concealed carry legal plans. An individual can do everything right in a self defense situation, and depending on another person’s opinion still end up on the wrong side of the law. We have a family legal plan, but I think I’ll also go ahead and get the concealed carry plan. They are offering 15% off to Sig Legion owners.2 points

I agree with you, but we can also thank corrupt DA's and detectives who have lied, falsified evidence, or even framed innocent people. Since 1973, 171 people have been freed from death row after being wrongfully convicted. And I'm not talking about the DA's just making mistakes. We're talking about some truly evil #### taking place, in order to convict some of these people. 171 may not sound like a lot but we've only executed 1,400. "In other words, for every 10 people who have been executed since the death penalty was reinstated in the U.S., one person has been set free." I used to be for the death penalty. It's hard for me to feel good about the system knowing what I know now. I simply don't have faith that we're getting it right.2 points

From the article: Dorsey had no adult arrest record in Tennessee and was not wanted by law enforcement on any outstanding warrants, Rausch said Monday morning. He added Dorsey does have an “extensive criminal record” in his home state of Missouri. As a society, we have lost the nerve to imprison repeat violent criminals until they die or just get on with the business of executing them so that they don't take up space in prisons and cannot escape or be released to continue to do harm. When a human being exhibits the same lack of conscience and propensity to harm or kill others that you see among animals classified as "super predators", they should never be allowed the opportunity to continue harming and killing. The problem is multifaceted: Lawyers make a living defending these predators and the legal industry is big money. The corrections and rehabilitation industries are also big money for either those that provide privatized incarceration facilities or to those who contractually provide services to government-owned facilities. No one wants to cut off the supply of milk from the tit that feeds them. Compounding this are the gentile people who are, as Winston Churchill put it, useful idiots and believe that predators can be rehabilitated. Or, for religious beliefs, think that executing a predator is immoral and goes against God's commandment that we shall not murder. All of these things combine to produce a society where violent, predatory criminals are put into incarceration facilities that serve as training camps and make them more violent and less human, only to be spilled back out onto the streets after a prescribed period of time or because the facilities can't hold them all and there are no stiff finite penalties that will dissuade others from following in their footsteps. I doubt that our society will ever get back to the point where violent predatory criminals who are guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt and who have been given reasonable due process are swiftly executed and no longer a threat to the public. And I believe that we can primarily thank the legal industry for that because they've set up an appalling number of barriers and opportunities for appeal that stand between a monster murdering a father in front of his pregnant wife, and justice. Thankfully this predator killed himself. I hope he burns for eternity.2 points

A hellcat is a nice option. Will probably replace my shield eventually. Also with the mini optics becoming available, they are nice. I've shot one and really like it. Additionally, I try to always carry pepper spray. Much more likely to need less-than-lethal force. Not every problem needs a hammer, and neither do you want to go hands on if it can be avoided; many bad things can happen at that point. Even in a closed space, much preferable to bullets.2 points

I might have made a huge mistake, boys. Could lead to a divorce. I stopped in my LGS (Crossroads Guns, in Fountain City), for some HV .22LR for my Stoeger Luger. I walked out with the .22 rounds and after putting a Walther PPK/s in lay-a-way. It’s a beaut, a Interarms Stainless steel pistol, with both mags, box, manuals cleaning rod... all for 5 bills plus tax and BCG. Lay-a-way for 12 months! Oh Lord, what have I done??? Looks like this!1 point

It is capitalism, so it is what it is. The thing that will burn people up is to find that a lot of these "pros" that I know a bit about in my area are pulling a disability check but are fit enough to run around flipping ammo and guns. It burns me that on some of those guys, I am paying for them to sit there and get ammo to flip. By the way, I have also heard several accounts that are much more chaotic than David's. People running through the clothing section trying to shortcut to the ammo aisle. Not quite Black Friday at Wal-Mart bad, but close.1 point

That's a fair point. Forensics is certainly getting better every day. Since 2010-5 people. Since 2000-14 people. 35-40 since DNA became a thing. What really angers me is when they are found to be wrongfully convicted the states often refuse to compensate them. And even when it's shown the DA's did something illegal, they are almost never prosecuted. Some of them are still working as DA's! Again, I understand why people want the death penalty to be used. For me personally, I have some serious concerns about our ability to always get it right. Even executing 1 wrong person is too many. If you are interested, give The Innocence Files a watch on Netflix. https://deathpenaltyinfo.org/policy-issues/innocence-database1 point

Think you misread me. You mentioned the local leo need to be un-cuffed. In other words, to be able to do their jobs. I agree! They are cuffed by the crooked politicians. Most want to do the right thing. I'd like to see them give the middle finger to the corrupt rulers and -just- do their jobs. Instead, you have officers, chiefs, etc. Resigning and retiring because they had enough. So again, do what? As far as the Insurrection Act, if that cant get full resolve, what are you/we prepared to do? Sandbag your home and put sandbags 10 high around a defensive perimeter? Firebase Gloria perhaps? Run and hide in a mountain while your primary home gets infested by scum and come back to what? I don't think Trump and Barr are 'just' making threats. They are trying real hard NOT to use the IA... This bs that they need invitations to step in is nuts. It needs to be slapped down quickfastnotslow. It would have never gotten to this proportion if it weren't for the libtard leaders in these states. How many livelihoods ruined, innocents getting hurt or killed. Cops, again, getting shot by some chicken #### that shoots and runs. How far are we willing to let it go? When will any of you run up there as a 3 percenter or just think and talk about it? If anyone has a good idea, I'm all ears. But this anarchy... needs to stop. Govt is here to protect us and whether we like it or not, we need them.1 point

Second time hunting Maine and I finally got my first bear. 33 yard shot with my Smith and Wesson 460xvr using Federal 260 grain Fusions. Full pass through. The sow made it maybe 10 yards. Weighed between 150 to 170lbs. Couldn't have been happier.1 point
