  2. This might turn out to be a bit lengthy but, this is the detailed process I used to select a provider. One of the things I had to keep in mind was; to compare apples with apples, because most of these companies have different levels of coverage for different things. I also had to keep in mind the likely civil aftermath and lawsuit of a self defense encounter. As far as recommendations, I really can't give any. The several I checked out seemed to be reputable and have good published programs. I watch a lot of Youtube gun videos and a number of the channels refer you to or recommend a certain CCW insurance. Some of them don't give full disclosure about if they are sponsored or supported by that company or if they have that insurance free, as part of their sponsorship. So I gave that little weight. For me, one of the biggest criteria was their performance, court defense record, satisfaction and timeliness of services rendered and provided. Problem is [a good thing]; as far as I could find out, only 'one' of these CCW insurance companies had a client [test case] and went through the entire process and were successful in getting their client vindicated. Perhaps someone will correct me if my research and thoughts are inaccurate. How I narrowed the field down: Naturally price was a first and major consideration. I found that between all the CCW insurance providers, there wasn't a huge disparity in pricing. So far I haven't eliminated anyone off my list. Then I mentally put myself in the position of; oh no, I just found myself in the wrong place at the wrong time, and had no other choice than to pull out my weapon to protect my wife and I. What city, county or state was I at when this occurred, is it a red or blue culture? In my made up scenario in a worst case event and I was charged with a felony crime; now what's important to me? What do I need to immediately do? How difficult is it going to be from behind bars to do what needs to be done? Who do I call first, I hadn't planned ahead for this unlikely event and have no lawyer. I don't even have the 10% readily available cash for the $250,000.00 bail levied against me. Of critical importance for my personal finances and situation would be; to have "one number" to call to get my defense rapidly going and get bailed out of jail ASAP. I hear jail food is not so good, and Bubba wants a new girlfriend? It's critical to me for the CCW insurance company to pay as much or all costs for bail, attorney retainer, etc. upfront. Some of these companies will reimburse you after the fact with exemptions and provisions. I can't stress enough for my personal situation, how important it is to have all costs associated with arrest and being charged paid up front. But anyway, I eventually narrowed it down to CCW Safe and USCCA as best meeting my needs, should I ever be unfortunate enough to need them. Down to two, now I'm making some progress, now what criteria do I use to select one? All things being relatively equal now with pricing, coverage and upfront cost of my defense and bail covered; I looked at the perks offered . By far USCCA offers its members a lot of video training and related written articles [of course it doesn't replace the real thing] and a wealth of information on their website. So that was the deciding factor. I selected the Platinum level membership for a year for $347.00 plus tax. I believe they offer monthly plans also. As I mentioned in another post; I never felt the need for this type of insurance because of the odds of ever needing it. I don't go to stupid places, at stupid times, with stupid people. Crime, victims and the odds of becoming a victim have exponentially increased; due to the lawlessness outbreak everywhere, even in small town USA. Governor's, Mayor's, politicians and prosecutor's [with a political agenda] siding with and supporting the organized and financed criminals and rioters; releasing them from jail and not prosecuting crimes. These groups are financed by the likes of Hollywood, George Soros, the elites, liberals, news media and anti-Americans. In addition to the "regular" crime by the mentally ill, drug addicts, gang-bangers, cartels, illegal aliens and common criminals; we now have another layer of criminality to contend with. In my opinion, the 'odds' of becoming a victim has dramatically increased. Disclaimer: Years ago I was a member of USCCA when they were introducing their insurance and many of us were not happy with their changes and President and founder Tim Schmidt and his vision for his company. I've since changed my mind and attitude. If you got this far, you're a better person than me; I fell asleep writing this half way through...

  6. Another excuse for these tyrants to invade the privacy of the home. I’m glad I don’t have school age children. If I had to do the online classes I would have to build a blank room around the computer so that would be all they could see. I’m sick and tired of these pricks and whatever may or may not be in my home is none of their business. I’d bet if, instead of a toy gun, the teacher spotted a still, a bag of weed, and a couple of passed out hookers there would have been nothing said.

  7. Go ahead. US Law Shield isn't touchy about that. They realize that there are criteria that send people one way or the other between companies.

  8. Asking folks with actual NRL22 type experience, what would be your top choices for a base class scope to go on a $500 rifle? Here are two I have been looking at online are: - Vortex Diamondback 6-24 FFP Mil - Athlon Argos Gen2 BTR 6-24x FFP Mil Both msrp around $500, have glass etched reticles, and have appropriate parallax adjustment minimum for 22lr. Very similar features overall, but im not familiar with either. I am also not sure about the design of the Athlon tube and knobs/erectors area on this model. Reminds me of primary arms.? Are there others in this $550 msrp, and under, price range to consider? Thanks for any input.

  12. I’m really not big on the masks as a general rule. I have serious doubts about their stated utility. That said, I’m loving taking advantage of not having my face on every security camera and available for every piece of facial recognition software used on those videos. I generally walk around with my face and head covered up like I’m about to rob a bank. It’s kind of fun. Edited to add: See? Told ya I look ready to rob a bank.

  14. I think clarksville had one or two, but didn't hear of any BS kicking off. Just returned from a road trip to-from Denver, Co., nothing was evident there except one BLM poster on a school fence, near my mom's house. Drove through downtown, some of the old 'hoods' we used to hang out at and nothing. As a matter of fact, it was looking like many were deep into gentrification, lots of modern apartments in the middle of older homes. I think for the most part, except Washington, Oregon and a few other small pockets, it has mostly gone away. Maybe Soros funding is drying up, and or the gloves are off with LEO and making the paycheck less desirable.

  15. I get that, but a 12yr old ADHD kid on his own to connect to school? A toy gun on the screen is probably the least of their worries. I have a 12 yr old and I'm impressed that this kid is doing this on his own routinely.

  17. Bushnell just gave me one of the Match Pro models at the NRL22 Nationals: https://www.bushnell.com/riflescopes/match-pro/match-pro-6-24x50-riflescope/P2178035.html I've been a big fan of the Athlon Midas TAC for open class. (I've bought 6 of them.) The Bushnell is very similar to the Midas TAC, including the Xmas tree recital with a target dot, at a much lower cost. If you are near Southern Mid TN, You're more then welcome to meet me at the local range (Eagle Eye Range in Mt Pleasant) and try it out.

  18. Good thing you’re handsome, Rob! Kidding, but thanks for the confirmation of 6.5, I’m reading more and more on the different variations and trying to decide which one I’d make the best use of. And for the record, I can’t grow a manbun (cause it’s starting to thin out up there, and I hate hair, period) but I wouldn’t grow one even if I could! I’ll also agree that a lever gun is on the list, right now I just have itch for something else. And 30-06 is on the list too, just not right at the top of it.

  20. Granted I don’t get out much “socially” as most do (social distancing hasn’t changed anything for me except wearing a mask at the grocery store). But, living roughly halfway between Manchester and McMinnville out in the country, I haven’t seen any evidence of it personally, I bet I will whenever Bonnaroo got rescheduled to this year or next. Only hear about it on the news. I work in La Vergne, just south of Nashville and haven’t seen anything up there either. I think I saw on the news when the riots first kicked off there was a small spat in Murfreesboro, but nothing since. As much as I probably should watch the news to stay informed, watching any form of the news now just infuriates me beyond comprehension and makes my blood boil, so I don’t watch. I catch a general idea hearing little snippets here and there.

  22. I do not have the load in memory, but I have also loaded 100 grain half jacket bullets in the 30-30 atop pistol powder. It makes a great varmint and plinking load. If memory serves it shoots really close to the same point of impact as my favored deer load at reasonable ranges. I haven’t shot my old 94 Winchester in a long time. This makes me want to dig it out of the safe.

  24. I see all these guys asking what is the best SHTF gun if you could have 1, well that would be it!! You can kill small game, doves, quail when there were some, turkeys, ducks, geese, deer, hogs, bear. And it would probably keep 2 legged vermin at bay as well.

  25. You don't have a lever gun.... You don't have a .30-06 & quite frankly, not having either is just damned un-American! Wha's wrong witchoo boy?! But for srslys... something in a 6.5 would fill the gap between your .308 & WM quite nicely. As much as I detest the 6.5 manbun, it's the logical choice. Personally i'd do either a 6.5swede on a modern action, or a 6.5 PRC if you're feeling froggy.

  29. Folks in this country eschew a lot of blame for their actions. Individually and collectively as a nation nobody seems to want to accept responsibility for their own messes. Folks also make up a lot of stuff claiming Trump said it. Like calling COVID-19 a hoax. He never actually did that.

  31. If you didn't feel you were in enough danger to shoot them in the chest then you were not in enough danger to shoot them PERIOD. Lethal force is LETHAL force and shooting someone a LITTLE is just like shooting them a lot. Once the gun comes out and goes BANG everything changes. Its not just for funsies anymore.....And what happens when you try to play Lone Ranger and shoot dude in the gun hand and the bullet ricochets off his gun and into his carotid artery? Or you shoot dude in the leg because you "don't want to hurt him" and you hit him square in the femoral artery and he bleeds out in 60 seconds? Now what? Oooops? "Sorry, my bad"...? There is a reason that virtually all police departments including the FBI dropped "shooting to wound" as a strategy a half century ago. And the only people that argue for it is people who have ZERO experience with, or education in violence. So they should probably hop on their unicorn and ride it over the rainbow and stop making ignorant suggestions about things they have no idea about.

  32. If I was running church security I would be very concerned with ease of access. "Non Traditional" holster setups like these shirts seem to be slow and cumbersome on the draw. If comfort is your concern it doesn't get better than OWB with a jacket

  36. To be honest, if you're an occasional hunter, occasional shooter & feel like one day you might like to maybe fool around at diddling some longer range gongs, the 6.5 creedmore (manbun) is the perfect choice. Factory ammo is cheap, plentiful & all of it is astonishingly good. Lots of bullet weights are available. It's low recoil, lots of rifle/component availability, inherently accurate. I mean, there's really nothing to not love about it (i still don't though......)
