Just for some Glock eye candy , here's my G17 made in 1996. Its a Gen 2 but to me the Gen 2 was Glock's "perfection" . No finger grooves , damn near rust proof , 2 pin frame instead of 3 pins , old style extractor with no LCI , no light rail , and it has leaf style springs in the slide LOCK and slide STOP instead of the coiled springs they switched to now days.3 points

Of course I keep current with what's going on around the country with this BLM, ANTIFA, etc. The prosecuting attorneys prosecuting people defending themselves and letting criminals go: the liberal and democrat mindset, our country being turned upside down. Well I don't live near one of the bigger cities in Tennessee, I'm not planning on going to a large city, I'm pretty much isolated and exempt from all this madness. Wrong! Here at the little city of Paris, TN., we had a little protest at the Henry County Courthouse to tear down the statue. If it can happen in small town TN., it can happen in your neighborhood too. These anti-American crazies are not confined to the large cities evidently. I'm wondering just how bad all this is going to get before enough is enough. I've been guilty of leaving the firearm at home for quick trips into town, because I'm in a hurry or working on something. I'm going to rethink that attitude. You just never know; and today you really don't know. Anyone had any similar experience with these protester / rioters in your town yet?2 points

99.9 percent of the time I dont leave the house without my firearm. Very few times have I ran a quick errand without it. I try to apply the old American Express slogan "Don't Leave Home Without It" before I go...lol.2 points

No changes for you...yours is now Enhanced. The new concealed carry permit will not have any impact on you unless some State decides to do away with our reciprocity because of it.2 points

My first T/C Contender was a 30-30 pistol with a 10" barrel. That was a fun little gun to shoot.2 points

Today, the 30-30 has gained the reputation as a slow, incapable, and outdated cartridge. Truth is that it is just as accurate and deadly as it was 125 years ago. I do not believe North America has produced a creature that can’t be reliably taken with the old 170 grain Silvertip load. What actually happened is that we have largely become slow, incapable hunters expecting our gear to make up for our shortcomings.2 points

I posted awhile back where someone tried to break into our home when we were in bed. From my little research and reading local arrest reports, it appears our county is loaded with crack heads and drug addicts. Knowing they don't hold down jobs to support their drug addictions, they obtain their money by committing crimes I'm going to guess. What if, whom ever was prying my dead bolt and door lock open made entry into my dwelling and there was some loud bangs? Apparently this little city I live in is not exempt from the kook's and protester's as of last Saturday. I'm going to be doing a little traveling out of state shortly. I got to thinking; what if, what if I had no other choice and had to pull out my firearm to protect myself and family? What city, county or state would I be in if that ever occurred? People defending themselves are being charged left and right from everything from brandishing to murder; even when it's clear cut and they are following the law. As far as a legal defense, God forbid, if I ever had to un-holster my pistol for any legitimate reasonable reason and got charged, I don't have a pot to pee in to cover legal lawyer fees. So based on the existing and increasing risk of being at the wrong place at the wrong time, or even at home; I took out that expensive CCW insurance from an unnamed provider. Anyone else changed their tune?1 point

We have a contract on our house and I keep finding boxes and ammo cans full of ammo in odd places. I don't remember buying all this ammo and I even found a pistol which I had forgotten about. I am sure it has nothing to do with my age. All the cool kids were born in the 50's right?1 point

Go ahead. US Law Shield isn't touchy about that. They realize that there are criteria that send people one way or the other between companies.1 point

Granted I don’t get out much “socially” as most do (social distancing hasn’t changed anything for me except wearing a mask at the grocery store). But, living roughly halfway between Manchester and McMinnville out in the country, I haven’t seen any evidence of it personally, I bet I will whenever Bonnaroo got rescheduled to this year or next. Only hear about it on the news. I work in La Vergne, just south of Nashville and haven’t seen anything up there either. I think I saw on the news when the riots first kicked off there was a small spat in Murfreesboro, but nothing since. As much as I probably should watch the news to stay informed, watching any form of the news now just infuriates me beyond comprehension and makes my blood boil, so I don’t watch. I catch a general idea hearing little snippets here and there.1 point

I did my research and narrowed it down to two that met my needs. I don't want to name names because of TGO sponsors. But both seemed pretty equal, but one having an actual client and experience. All things being about equal, I decided to go with the one who has a member dashboard; with training videos, articles, pick your own lawyer and sends a nice little survival package.1 point

Last I heard, when they shut it down it was going to be at least a year to upgrade it. I haven't heard any progress report since last fall? Yea, I like it too; a great view and the food is excellent. My neighbor worked there [seldom talk to her], I'll ask if she is going back or knows anything.1 point

In Paris? Surely these folks were bussed in. When are they going to reopen the inn at Paris Landing? I love it up there.1 point

I see all these guys asking what is the best SHTF gun if you could have 1, well that would be it!! You can kill small game, doves, quail when there were some, turkeys, ducks, geese, deer, hogs, bear. And it would probably keep 2 legged vermin at bay as well.1 point

Haven’t seen those but aftermarket companies have a pretty poor reputation for quality for Glock mags in general. Notable exception being the Shield Arms G43X/48 15 round steel mags. So far... The Kriss Mag extensions for 30 round capacity in 45 have been available for awhile. I wouldn’t trust these or any other aftermarket Glock mags. Extensions or base plates, sure, but no full aftermarket mags unless they have earned a reputation and proven themselves reliable.1 point

It was my first gun; an H&R. It also has a 20 gauge barrel. It is cool, light, and handy.1 point

You don't have a lever gun.... You don't have a .30-06 & quite frankly, not having either is just damned un-American! Wha's wrong witchoo boy?! But for srslys... something in a 6.5 would fill the gap between your .308 & WM quite nicely. As much as I detest the 6.5 manbun, it's the logical choice. Personally i'd do either a 6.5swede on a modern action, or a 6.5 PRC if you're feeling froggy.1 point

Took it this afternoon and ran a couple of magazines through it. It’s very accurate! I could keep them in an inch at 7 yards. However, after the first 5 rounds, I started having issues with extraction. These are known to have tight chambers. The second mag was no better. In fact it got worse, with unshot rounds not chambering. I’m going to give it a good cleaning and oiling and look for some hotter rounds. I was using standard velocity rounds.1 point

“Zero Tolerance” has never, and will never work. It is used by those too stupid or too lazy to do their jobs and make their own decisions.1 point

Judging from the stock it looks like that one spends some time on the ground as well. Since she’s only seven and dad doesn’t know what he’s doing, I’ll not comment and critique on pulling the mag tube thing completely out and putting it on the ground, then loading through the “window”. Dumb as hell.1 point

You now have an “enhanced” permit. No changes to the permit. Just a fancier name.1 point
