  1. I will only add this one additional post. I have been involved in healthcare for almost 50 years. I know people who have personally been on the front lines watching people die of Covid in NY. It is not pleasant, and it is real. I do get a lot of medical journals and updates daily. This is all a new virus and is a learning experience for the brightest and best medical minds in the world. Buying time to fight the enemy is a positive.......hence wear a mask. Being ignorant is everyone choice to make. Not being scared has doing to do with catching the virus or not. I have read of many cases of healthy individuals dying. My owning firearms, or any of my politcal beliefs have nothing to do with this virus as well; the virus is scared of neither.

  2. Ok, I admit to a strange fascination with the so-called "Mouse Guns". There's just something about these little, small caliber guns that appeals to me and over the years I've acquired several of them. Yeah, I know all the arguments against them. "If the bad guy realizes he's been shot...yadda,yadda,yadda." However, these small guns do have their place. I think everybody should have a gun for those times when they can't carry a gun. The first thing you need to understand is that with these tiny, small caliber pistols is that you have to change tactics. Forget center mass. These guns are meant to be used at bad breath distances. Instead, stick the gun right in the bad guys face and pull the trigger. Several times. If you're lucky, the bullet may enter through an eye socket or sinus cavity and go directly into the brain resulting in immediate incapacitation. However, don't count on it. Instead, while the bad guy is distracted by this sudden pain and blood, you run like Hell! Remember, the primary purpose of a self defense gun is to save your life. What happens to the bad guy is unimportant as long as you survive. .22 vs .25? Personally, I prefer the .25acp. The .22LR may have a slight power advantage, but the .25 is a center fire cartridge. We've all had rimfires that misfired. And frankly, in recent years, misfires with .22s seem to be more and more frequent. The center fire .25 acp is much more reliable. However, in recent years several very small pistols have emerged in .32 acp caliber. Not long ago I acquired a Beretta 3032 Tomcat. Its pretty much the same size as Beretta's .22 and .25 DA/SA offerings in a better caliber. I'm still working with it, but so far, I've grown to like it. Do i recommend a mouse gun as a primary carry? No, of course not. However, there are times when discretion is called for due to dress or social circumstances. That's where these tiny pistols really shine. Then again, they also serve extremely well as a non-intrusive back-up. Here's my mouse collection. Sorry, I'm not much of a photographer. Left to right, top to bottom: 1. Raven 25 Auto: don't laugh. While they are the epitome of the cheap, saturday night special, the darn things work and are totally reliable. 2. PSP-25 (now called the PSA-25): An extremely well made licensed copy of the classic Browning Baby. I think it may be better as mine has a much better trigger. 3. Browning Baby: A true classic which many Police Officers carried as a back-up. 4. Colt Model 1908 Vest Pocket: another classic. 5. Beretta 950B Jetfire: Yet another well known pocket pistol. 6. Beretta 3032 Tomcat: already mentioned 7. Walther TPH: my only .22 as the .25 versions are extremely rare in the country often costing $1000 or more. 8. Taurus PT-25: a DAO copy of the Beretta design. Well, there you have it. My collection of Mouse Guns. Unlike Mr. Jinks, I love meeces to pieces! Show us yours!

  5. As far as being scared or not scared is not the point with me. I am doing everything humanly possible not to get it or possibly pass it on to any family or friends!! I have a bunch of masks and a bunch of Lysol to spray surfaces I use. I have about 6 bottles of sanitizing soaps on my sinks I wash my hands with and hand sanitizing bottles in every room. I have not been off this property in almost 3.5 months and my family does all my shopping and everything is handled with the most care and bags the groceries arrive in are sprayed with Lysol before discarding. So I am not out there tempting fate for me or my family. I am also not out there being an idiot just asking to get sick and possibly die.

  6. Oh yea, one more thing. I have a Living Will that does state no heroics, Do not resuscitate to sustain life. Just keep me out of pain and allow me to die with dignity. I do have underlying health issues so chances are slim to none I would survive it and there would be no sense in my keeping an ICU bed occupied when a younger healthier person could be in the bed that would have a much better chance to get well. I have lived with a belief that I don't fear death as much as I fear so called life on machine. Just let me die with peace and dignity....JMHO

  7. I ain't skeered either. If it is going to take me I want it to be quick without a bunch of being dragged out garbage. I have all my arrangement's made so the family doesn't have to do anything except pick up a box with my ashes in it. I will go directly to the Funeral Home cremation furnace from whatever facility I am in. Family won't be able to change anything. I think Funeral Directors use family members to milk way to much money out of them at a time when they are not thinking right and mourning. I eliminated all that. The only thing family will be responsible for is picking out the Urn I will be buried in.

  9. folks, nothing is 100%, but if it decreases your odds of catching Covid, then, IMO it's worth it, especially combined with social distancing, hand washing, hand sanitizer, etc.

  12. If you die of COVID it will not be quick. It will be a slow and painful process as you struggle to breath. It's not a death you would want.

  13. Haha, than you shouldn't be in a gun forum, because "eliminating guns saves lives, so we shouldn't resist". It's literally the same argument on the same premise with identical moral and philosophical points. I can show you just as many studies, journals, physicians, articles, etc to the contrary. There is a reason doctors "practice" medicine. Arogance and assumptions in a dynamic event is not good medicine. Good doctors know that, bad doctors talk a lot.

  14. ...Long story short, I get these two jewels for my birthday. I need some display ideas for them. I intend to make leather sheaths for them as they are built for service and razor sharp. One handle is walnut, and I am unsure of the other handle material.

  15. Some time last year I ran across a good deal on a 5'X8' American flag. At the time I did not have a way to display it properly. We did this for Memorial Day, looked good but I did not like leaving it fly all day and not be there if a storm came up. This past week I was at a job site and me being me I just had to look in the construction dumpster. Found 4 pieces of chain link fence top rail. Well now I have a 22 foot flag pole to display my flag.

  21. i like the jetfire. hard to beat them for pocket carry. when kel tec came out with the p32 and p3at the jetfire went into the safe. the p3at is one of the best pocket pistol around. so good ruger had to make one too.

  22. I have the same radio. "Not trunked" is going to be your problem. You can check out https://www.radioreference.com/ for all kinds of frequencies. If public safety scanner stuff is what you want, most all of that is trunked. Best alternative I found is an app called scanner radio.

  27. It's not the way you fight any disease, it is the result of fighting a disease. The purpose of reducing the curve is to let herd immunity develope while maximizing resources for those that need more intensive and invasive treatment. Meaning controlled exposure is necessary and as important as eliminating contact. You need both.

  31. This is the latest issue I'm noticing. We started with hand sanitizer and washing hands. But when we moved on to the mask the former took a backseat and now you have people wearing around a catch all funk rag. Not to mention the masks are now littering up everything like cigarette butts. But I guess that's O K Makes me wonder what we are preventing and what we are prolonging

  33. My biggest gripe there would be the produce. I've seen some rough azz veggies laying in the bins and I'd lose my temper if I did a drive up service and arrived home to find produce that looked beat to hell. I've witnessed employees of these grocery stores pushing around the giant plastic bins with order forms picking orders. Some look like they are picking as if it were for their family and others are just going through the motions. So the hit or miss you speak of aligns with what I've witnessed.

  40. I do on the front of my house for the month of June and July. Only place where I can leave it lit up after dark. Wish I had a good well lit flag pole because I don't want to be forced to take it down after dark.

  41. We live on a 1200' drive with heavy woods between the house and the road which dead ends just beyond our house so I don't fly a flag at the house. Had a similar problem at the previous house and put a flag pole on the mailbox pole but at least that wasn't a dead end road and I did it mostly to honor the retired Marine across the road. So this is where I fly the flag now.

  45. The best method I hear of making sure you never acquire the virus is to stay in a 4x4 foot plastic cube until it's maybe safe to come out-only after radiation has killed the bug or a thermonuclear device is set off.
