I seem to recall hearing/reading the merits of using FMJ's for .380 caliber SD in order to get enough penetration to offset over garments. Your mileage may vary.4 points

8 years ago my oldest (17 at the time) went to the Old City with two her friends and one of her friend’s mom for dinner. Later that evening, she was ready to come home and called me to come and get her. As I was going out the door, I picked up my Colt Agent .38 and tucked it in the pocket of my hoody. When I got there, I texted her to come to the car. While I was waiting, a gentleman attempted to open the passenger side door, which was locked. He then hit the window with his fist, as I pulled the Colt. As soon as he saw it, he put up his hands and backed up and walked off. My daughter and her two friends, after witnessing all that and walked up to the van. They were smart enough not to get close enough to be involved in the situation. I carry something everyday. It might be a LCP, or a 442 or a PT111 G2, or a XDs .45ACP, but I always have something on my person.4 points

From an officer I personally know, while he was working undercover he deployed his .380 with hollow points to shoot at a perp through a windshield. I do not remember the flavor of the ammunition. The rounds lodged in the windshield without fully penetrating. We later got a cracked windshield from Safelite Auto Glass to run our own tests. Although various hollow points had variable results with penetration, some going through the windshield from roughly 3-7 yards and others not penetrating, even in some cases rounds from the same box of ammo, ALL of the ball ammo penetrated the laminated glass and burst the plastic jug of water placed behind the glass. We also had some fun that day testing various rounds of ammunition on ballistic drywall we had gotten a scrap piece of from the construction of the local VA hospital. That ballistic drywall is amazing stuff. I'm not sure what it says though for the amount of money spent to do the entire lobby of the VA center with that drywall, yet I digress...3 points

I picked up a new Tisas B380 (licensed copy of the Beretta 84) from Bill’s Outpost ( great people and a great experience) yesterday and now I’m on the hunt for some SD ammunition. Tell me what you all like!2 points

Based on ShootingtheBull's research, I bought Precision One. Functions flawlessly in my Kimber Micro.2 points

I think I have tried most every SD round out there for 380 Caliber and I finally settled on Hornady 90 gr. FTX Critical Defense and that is what is in all my 380's and the back up mags with them.2 points

When we moved, I got the Kobalt 80V trimmer, blower, and push mower. We have small lot and the push mower is plenty. They work great and the wife loves the mower. I haven't actually mowed more than twice this year. Yes, she has sisters but they are already spoken for.2 points

That's why I got one. Not too big, not too small. I wanted a hammer rather than a spike, much more useful for me. Mine had handle issues when I got it, the head had peeled a bunch of the wood off during installation. There's no way whoever did it didn't notice. I emailed them a pic and they sent me another handle. Luckily I was able to fix the original handle so now I have a spare.2 points

So I have always just bought whatever cheap string at whatever store I’m at when I buy it. But recently I decided to do some research and find a high quality string. I decide to purchase a small package of Oregon Magnum Gatorline. This stuff is square instead of round and it has an internal filament. Let me say, I’m very impressed! It makes sense to have sharp edges (four of them) rather than round string. The internal filament supposedly adds to the strength. Let me just say, I just tried it for the first time today. Let me forewarn that weed-eating is never fun but this string is worth it and I was excited to try it today. I was able to chop through much larger weeds much easier than the misc cheap stuff. However, it also eats through decking lattice and also throws rocks with much more force. I weed-eat a lot of area with gravel and the string lasts longer in those areas as well as, like I previously mentioned, throws stones with more force. The cheap stuff seemed to disintegrate very quickly in those areas. I will likely be buying a 685’ spoil of it next time around. Just curious if anyone else is a fan or if you have any other string to recommend.1 point

I have this one. https://www.united-states-flag.com/commercial-grade-sectional-25-ft-flagpole-satin.html?utm_source=bm23&utm_medium=email&utm_term=%%%23productName_%23%%&utm_content=Thanks+for+stopping+by,+We've+saved+your+cart!&utm_campaign=USF+Cart+Abandonment+-+Production&_bta_tid=14000970671401961990529702703511432133718551236723746448307102074096693240654616241309763298447415394141441&_bta_c=9udomvurta0nxyi4jj4s40tm5lg26 Has been great. Not cheap, but it has withstood everything for a year with no issues and don't foresee any unless we have some major winds. I fly two flags. One 4x6 and one 3x5 and it has no issues. I put this on top and it lights it well. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RGXR537/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 These are really nice flags as well. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B001PMV9O8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=11 point

Yes, with steel dies the cases will require lube. I started reloading using steel dies many years ago and now all my straight wall sizing dies are carbide. Brownells has the Hornady brand in stock for 9mm for about $50.1 point

I carry Underwood Ammo's loading of the Lehigh Defense extreme penetrator More specifically the .380 +P version I have had zero issue in my LCP 1, its definitely hot, but with a 13lb recoil spring in it, it is perfectly manageable, Ive put a few hundred down range and had zero hiccups.1 point

Bet they do now. I have a friend in Sevier County, that is in the hospital with it. He was diagnosed last week with it, and his wife found him passed out in their bedroom last Monday. He was in ICU for a while, but is doing much better. I didn’t ask if he wore one or not. Wasn’t a concern at the moment. He is still in the hospital.1 point

I picked up a Kobalt 80V trimmer a few years ago in hopes that my wife would use it (not even once) but I like it. It tackles everything except overgrown brush well. If it went out today I would replace it with the same. Got the companion 80V blower, it's great too.1 point

.44 Special/.44 Magnum is very versatile when rolling your own, just like .38 Special/.357 Magnum. Even Inspector Callahan used a “light special” load, lol. .44 Special is a pussycat out of a model 29. One could shoot that all day.1 point

The doctor said he hasn’t briefed Trump in almost two months, and has only seen him once in The White House recently. Trump is calling all the shots on the virus. It really doesn’t matter who is in charge now. It seems as a country we’ve decided to ride the wave. We have believers, nonbelievers and those in between. I feel like I’m watching a game show hoping no one else I know becomes ill.1 point

Around 2010 I was in a First TN bank about 10-15 minutes before a guy tried to rob it. He didn't realize that branch had an armed guard. I was carrying my Ruger LCR at the time and always wonder what might have happened. I'm glad I wasn't there. Last year my wife and I were dead asleep around 0100 when our home alarm started blaring. I never realized how jarring that would be. I was up, out of bed, Glock 21 in hand, round chambered in maybe 5 seconds. My wife was so scared she wasn't much help. I had her deactivate the alarm from her phone. Once that noise was off I just stood there and listened while keeping my G21 pointed at entrance to our bedroom. I realized pretty quickly it had to be a false alarm because our dog wasn't barking or growling. I don't think he would bite anyone but he wouldn't be silent. The alarm was saying kitchen window breach which I determined was closed. The sensor had just failed in the middle of the night. I was thankful for my weapon mounted light and the fact that we could control the alarm from our phone. It taught us some good lessons which we later talked about. I hope I never have a real encounter.1 point

I personally like: 1. S2R Batton II for everyday carry. It's small, light, flexible but functions like a fullsize. (3rd from left) 2. The H2R Nova - basically the same as the S2R Batton II but has a right angle head and a head band. Best headlamp I've ever used and I love that I can take it off the headband and clip it on a shirt pocket, belt etc and use it hands free. 3. M2R Warrior Pro - the one I don't have, but would love to have on my go to rifle. Great full-size light, yet still a compact body and you can add the remote tailpiece (4th from the left).I'd also love to have that Seeker 2! I also really like my PL2 Mini on my G19. Super compact but super bright. Buttons are easy to work and intuitive while keeping it simple. Awesome handgun/weapon light.1 point
