I spent the weekend at Tactical Response for Fighting Pistol. It was an amazing experience. I’m still processing some stuff from the class, but I will provide a full AAR in a different thread, but the short and dirty is that I will be back for more, much more.3 points

To anyone that hasn't dealt with the public. You haven't a clue as to what you are missing. A bunch of really good customers that you enjoy dealing with and a few soreheads that you couldn't please them if you gave them a million dollars. But the good customers outweigh the bad ones!!3 points

Over the last decade we've all experienced and witnessed events and periods of ammunition shortages. The two year shortages during the Obama reign taught me a lesson and I had to restrict my match and practice activities to continue on. It was suggested to me by several people, I need to start reloading. Sounds good on the surface until you ask where they're getting their powder and primers from. The point is; if there's an ammo shortage for whatever reason, reloading supplies closely follow. The way I see it; with the political and social climate these days along with civil unrest, unforeseen events, production, circumstances and socialist political agendas, one of these days the 'perfect storm' will arrive. Think that will never happen? I never thought in my lifetime I'd see a small minority of radicals dictate the course and laws of the country, and be treated with 'kid gloves' and get their way and support by the liberal news media and Congress. Cities and states opting to disband and de-fund their only source of protection between civilization and anarchy. I won't mention tearing down statues or renaming military bases and much other nonsense; much less the continued and intensifying 2nd Amendment attacks. How much of the population of Canada, Australia, Mexico, etc. can sit down at their keyboards and order bulk pistol and AR ammunition whenever they wish? Why can't they and how did it get that way? We are in a war for our national identity and survival, government tyranny, radical civil rebellion and the freedoms hard earned by millions of patriots [and families] sweat, blood and tears. We are squandering it away piece by piece and losing the battle one step at a time. How many more times will we be afforded the opportunity to stock up on "things" at reasonable prices and availability??? I suggest next Novembers elections will determine the major concerns we share. We're no longer Unified States of America, much less the 'United States of America'. We're a house divided and the republicans, conservative's and patriots are always playing defense and never going on the offense. As a nation, we're sheep being willingly lead to the slaughter. We vote with our feet, and they're trying to dismember even our feet at the polls with their antics such as; ridding us of the electoral college, voter fraud, illegal alien voting, eliminating in person one day voting and so much more. Shew wee, what a long rant... It's OK, I just swallowed a handful of chill pills.3 points

On one level, I get it, it's a funny meme. But on the other hand, all of the "Kens and Karens" who have been cancelled lately did absolutely nothing wrong. For the 'crime' of sticking up for themselves when they're wronged, they have been cancelled, lost their careers, have significant legal fees, and could lose their freedom. This situation is far more dangerous than I think many people realize. Talk to someone who lived through Castro's Cuban Revolution, or others. It's the same thing happening here. It will continue until someone stops it, and right now no one is stopping it. If you try to stop it, the meek cops who kneel to rioters will suddenly put on their jack boots to stomp all over you. Your thin blue line flag won't get you any favors. You no longer have the right to self defense, or to call the police when you're threatened. And the Karen meme is assisting in this cultural shift.2 points

It seems appropriate to post this: "... .Musings upon the true meaning of the Fourth of July and it's relation to today's culture... I've noticed that several of my well meaning friends have made various pronouncements as to what " everybody should do " and some of em have passed out backhanded denigrations of those who dont see things their way... They have said they were " selfish, uninformed, ignorant ", etc... This country was founded on the proposition that all men are equal and that government draws its authority, not from kings, experts, well meaning tyrants, despots, mobs, bureaucrats, politicos, and, yes, even well intended individuals; but from the consent of the governed. I say to all ya'll, in the kindest manner possible, your opinion is just that, an opinion... You or I have no warrant to do anything other than to voice that opinion. The truth is that some folks may not see things the way you do... At the end of the day; "... You are responsible for you "... " ...I am responsible to me..."... No individual private citizen has the right to demand that his opinions be imposed on others... We can debate the merits of opinions, nothing more... Remember, there is, indeed, uniformity of thought in the tyrannical lands, as its dangerous not to parrot the " official propaganda line", truthful or not.... We have " The Arena of Ideas " and " Consent of the Governed " here... Lets keep it that way... That, Brothers and Sisters us what the Fourth of July is really about...." That is all... leroy2 points

Guys, I have done my best and still do to stay away from Chinese and other foreign companies but Olight has proven to me that there are some companies in China as good as American companies and better at times. I have always used Surefire lights and still do I had a few friends that use flashlights for life and death situations recommend Olight to me, the last one being Tim Thurner owner of TT gun leather, For those of you who do not know Tim is one of the firefighters who fights the wild fires and arson in Northern California he uses flashlights for search and rescue, Tim is making me some flashlight holsters for my Surefire Dual Fuel Fury 1500 Lumen Intel Beam which I still love and carry, He kept saying how much he loves his Olight M2R Pro Warrior so I broke down and ordered one, This thing is 1800 Lumens and awesome Olight gave me a great price as I told them I wanted to compare to Surefire, I have had it for a few weeks now and love this thing, so much that I am becoming a dealer for Olight I have to do an initial order so if any of you want an Olight I will give you the best price that I can, Let me know I will be getting several of these down the road they are incredible1 point

I know this breaks Gibb's rule 39 but I think I ran across one today. I'd been hearing about this Tubi thing and decided to check it out. Went to their site and just plugged in the name of a show I used to watch many years ago, "The joy of painting, with Bob Ross". I don't remember ever thinking about him or his show up until today. I was a happy camper to find out it was on there. I was dabbling in oils when I started watching him so watched every show I could. Now for the coincidence. I knew he was dead but pulled up his bio. and found out he died 25 years ago today. July 4, 1995.1 point

He was a cool dude. So laid back and made painting look easy. I was reading his bio one time about his stint in the Air Force where he had a leadership role and would have to yell at people. He said once he left the service, he told himself he would never raise his voice to people again.1 point

Been eating gar for years. Good eating but pain in the ass to clean. Yes, exactly like you show, tin snips and take out the boneless backstraps. A bowfishing buddy and I were to supply fish for a company fish fry. Enough to feed a dozen+ folks. We whacked about 5 good size gar and cut them into nugget size, and into the hot oil they went. It was gone in no time. Never told anyone what kind of fish until it was all eaten. They didn't believe us, thought we were lying. LOL BTW, yes, the eggs are toxic. Meat is fine.1 point

This thread brought back a memory from long ago. We used to fish below the Ft. Gibson Dam in Oklahoma when I was growing up. When the turbines weren't running there was a body of water between the dam and shore (indicated by red/brown line in the following image). Everyone would wade out to about waist deep water to get closer to the dam were the larger fish seemed to be. Once when there, I hooked something big and it was putting up one hell of a fight. It finally jumped a little ways out of the water and was a gar that seemed to be a least as long as me (I was about 12 when this happened). I was trying everything I could to break the line and finally succeeded. I turned around to wade ashore and saw that the 20-30 people that had been with me in the water were all standing on dry land. When we left, they were still fishing from the bank.1 point

This happened to me a couple days ago. I went to Popeyes and ordered a spicy chicken sandwich and fries. When I got home, I began eating the sandwich and discovered it had no spice. I called and spoke to a manager, she said just come by and get the correct sandwich. I asked do I need my receipt, she said no, just say I spoke to a manager. So I went back, and the first thing the window clerk said (after I explained the mixup) is "Do you have your receipt?" and "where is the other sandwich". I explained what the manager had told me, she called to someone, and here comes another kid, and he tells me "where is my sandwich" . No less than four people came to the window all asking the same thing, even after explaining I had already bit into the other sandwich. I finally got my correct sandwich, but it was handed to me real reluctantly and in a rude manner. I wasn't going to make a fuss there at the window and be labeled a racist, and feel even corporate will get me nowhere, so just let it go. But it just goes to show you that customer service has gone to poop, but so have customers and it's up to each of us to step away.1 point

So it's over-reported and underreported. It's seriously deadly and is also >.05 death rate. Cases are skyrocketing while testing is skyrocketing but percentages of test vs. positives are down. It affects churches but not protest. If you wear a mask you are scared sheeple but morally superior, if you don't you are a selfish, unconcerned, anti-vac conspiracy nut. Also, if you believe mandates attached with criminal code penalities without legal criminal code are unconstitutional but you agree with the idea at the moment you are normal, but If you stand against it in principal and practice, you don't care about other people and blindly follow Trump. CDC and other health officials have admitted they lied and fudged numbers, yet science and their stats are irrefutable. If you debate anything, you hate whatever the opposite is.... Have I missed something?1 point

What the anti-masker says: "Its illegal! Its unconstitutional! Herd immunity! Its my RIGHT!" What the world actually hears: "I'm a whinny little b itch that doesn't give a damn about anybody but myself!"1 point

I'm guessing you have never been on a ventilator or other serious life sustaining equipment in a hospital or you wouldn't be picking on someone that has been. I have taken a few rides on several life support machines and not really wanting to do another so I will speak up on this issue. If the policy in that particular store or town is for people to wear masks then masks should be worn or management should require they leave. Rule in stores are the same as laws when you are in public. The police do law enforcement and managers do store rule enforcement. How many times do people have to hear the statement "IF YOU SEE SOMETHING SAY SOMETHING" before it is understand what that means.1 point

I've felt from the beginning that when we're at the point of debating the utility of the vaccine widely available, with all the conspiracy theory sure to come, we'll be back to whatever passes as normal for the country.1 point

I just picked her up today. Not the best picture, but I’m excited to have this little beauty. For now I’m mounting a Holosun HE515GM-Green dot on it. If I’m not crazy about the dot, I’ll probably move on to an Aimpoint or RMR on a mount. I’m going to keep this simple.1 point

I have been in that same situation on several occasions and didn't enjoy any of them so I know where you are coming from Fox. You just keep preaching cause some people just don't listen till it's to late and then they want to blame their getting sick on someone else when they were informed and just didn't listen!!!!1 point

Not policing, merely want to point out a mistake. I only go out when I need to. I needed groceries. I fend for myself and don't count on other people to do for me. Yes, I am responsible for my own health. So I am careful, social distance as much as possible and do wear a mask. You see, I've been there. Not covid, but other health issues. I've been confined to a hospital bed, on oxygen and fighting for every breath. I never want to go through that again. Anti-mask people can't imagine what that's like. I hope you never find out.1 point

Buddy of mine as that Smith scandium/titanium snub nose 44mag. The real fun is to load a few 44spl and 1 or 2 44mag and give the cylinder a spin. Each trigger pull is a surprise.1 point

While I despise it to my core, I wear a mask going into a store. We’ll see how this works. Knox Co. is full of people running around like there’s nothing going on. That is what they wanted, as this is what they’re getting. BTW, I do have a slight have issue with all the new bureaucrats popping up not only here but across the nation making punishable regulations (laws).1 point

I've got a 6" Model 29-8. Its a classic all right. Every gun owner should at least experience one. Honestly, I very rarely shoot it. For big bores I much prefer the .44 Special and .45 Colt. I'm just not a fan of all that buck and roar of the big magnum. The only reason I have it is because it was left to me when a dear friend passed away. Believe it or not, that cannon was his EDC.1 point

I feel like this is the point where I reiterate my stance. If a business asks politely, I’ll wear one. If they are rude, I’ll leave without conducting any business. Government agents can #### right off.1 point
