I wanted to post a follow-up to a casting question I had late last year. I was looking into getting into casting and had a member here, @RedlegEd, respond and offer to show me the ropes. Ed had me over two times, once to check out his casting setup and another time to let me cast and powder coat before i invested in my own equipment. I had a great time and can't thank Ed enough for his help and guidance. I enjoyed it enough to invest in a Lee 4-20 pot, a 9mm mould, some lead and powder coat. I was recently was able to get it all setup and use it all for the first time to cast a couple hundred projectiles and powder coat them all. Here are some pictures of all I was able to accomplish. I wanted to give Ed a big shout out here for all his help and patience.

Best to remove the old stuff and put on new. Easier on the roof.

There is no denying that, to think otherwise is naive. It’s bad enough that private businesses do it for their own marketing and bottom line purposes as the examples you mentioned, it’s an entirely different thing when government harvests that information for their own purposes which are entirely different. I guess I’m the naive one thinking medical information was private. Perhaps patient confidentiality and HIPAA doesn’t mean what I always thought...unless It’s for the protection of government.

My biggest fear right now is that with a re-opening that there will be a sudden surge in the virus and we'll have to start all over again from scratch. I think I'll stay hunkered down for a while and see what happens.

And we apparently keep forgetting the TN state Constitution reads in Article 1 Section 26. That the citizens of this state have a right to keep and to bear arms for their common defense; but the Legislature shall have power, by law, to regulate the wearing of arms with a view to prevent crime. So even if we want to argue that the federal Constitution allows no infringements or impediments to any and all carry of any and all weapons (which is shaky legal and historical ground) , the TN State Constitution clearly reserves the right of the legislature to regulate the wearing of arms in the state of Tennessee. Frankly I'd like to see the "enhanced permit" have the added value of eliminating the force of law from the signage. ANY business would still be able to ask you to leave if they so choose. But if you have the "enhanced permit" the signs then would not get you in legal trouble.

Yeah, that’s wrong too. Those are also brands, not products. The RMR is a Trijicon optic. I’ve been shooting in matches with red dots for about 5 years and I was a late adopter compared to my buddies. I bought and sold 3 with RMRs before falling in love with the Roland Special with a Leupold DPP Pro. If anything, it’s going to be the year of Holosun. They are doing some innovative stuff.

RMR is the name of the trijicon pistol sized red dot, the nomenclature gets a little fuzzy as RMR is used frequently for any pistol sized red dot. The hole patterns and footprints are standard-ish with a lot of dot manufacturers using the trijicon RMR footprint as their pattern. Some firearm manufacturers are going the plate route and offering plates that the user switches to accept multiple dot configurations. I know vortex, leupold, and trijicon are probably the most common footprints out there for full size pistols.

It really pizzes me off that the victim of an attempted home invasion by mask men firing guns at him has to worry about making a statement. While the Aunt of the violent criminals wonders if they were shot in the back. Armed thugs that have committed a violent crime are still an immediate threat; even when running in the opposite direction. They need to either thrown down their weapon and surrender; or be shot.

Never really thought about it but am still flabbergasted. Me and my Savage Mark II BTV will just carry on for my style of shooting. I can’t imagine getting much more accurate, it would ruin me.

Huge difference!!! my house is single story hip roof house, my buddy built new construction same roofer as I used, his roof is cut up and very steep, dormers everywhere, main structure is 2 story and the front has a open lower floor plan witch makes it 3 story in the front of the house, he paid $45k.
