Chicken wire is an absolute must around here! I've had to replace my raised beds over the past 2 years. I just added two 4'x8' beds and one 4'x4' bed. I just received my seed order from Johnny's yesterday as well. We're looking forward to some fresh garden eating.2 points

You can check their site buy I think the Trijicon RMR is made in the USA. It's pricey, but great quality and you're most likely gonna buy once and cry once.2 points

This is the Traditions 1858. Go to support files and you will find the manual. I have one made by Pietta ( all steel ) and it's the most accurate handgun I own. With the .454 ball and 30 grs. of 3f it would stack them on top of each other if I could.1 point

Standing in the Shadows of Motown is a very interesting documentary. It’s about the Funk Brothers. Its amazing how much they that they never got credit for. Its available on Amazon Prime Video. At about an 1:12:00 into the documentary, a special treat is The Funk Brothers with Joan Osborne doing What Becomes of the broken hearted. If you take this walk down memory lane, make sure to go to the Funk Brothers Wikipedia page, scroll to the bottom and look at all the hits they played on. I just go ahead and add the Funk Brothers with Joan Osborne youtube link and the documentary trailer below....enjoy Standing in the Shadows of Motown - Trailer1 point

SRO w 2.5 dot. Looked hard at the Holosun, and shot Romeo, DP, RMR, sighttmark. Did not shoot Bushnell or Crimson Trace. Quality and reputation of the Trijicon won out. Really like the big window of the SRO as well. It is a different world.1 point

Doug, with everything either shut down or swamped I doubt there is anyone you can call. Here is an IRS site that lets you check online. https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/economic-impact-payments This story says.... This story gives reasons you may not have it yet.1 point

Aaron Cowan has become the undisputed source of truth for the reliability of red dot optics. His torture tests are famous among those that live the “Dot Life” and make manufacturers cringe. Holosun, though, regularly steps up to the challenge and sends Cowan samples to beat the hell out of and we all profit as a result. Last night he released his test of the forthcoming Holosun HE508T Version 2 and its everything I hoped it would be.1 point

Dave, I'm close to investing in a red dot, the American made choices are limited. I considered Holosun to save $100 or so over a Trijicon, but would rather support a US manufacturer. I too have a FF3, mounted on my AR and a few budget ChiCom dots. After researching and talking to folks, I'm willing to step up to a Leupold or Trijicon for my EDC (or a comp pistol)1 point

I have a few more I’ll share with the class after I get them back together. But here’s the last one for tonight. My newest deer killing machine. 300 blackout on a SanTan ambidextrous billet lower and billet side charged upper. 9.5”KAK barrel and will made your day very bad at 250 yards throwing 135gr SuperSonic liberators. It will make for a bad day at 300 yards On a 8” plate but it’s starting to push the envelope some.1 point

The H&H is an " xtra long " action. They are a valuable commodity. I recommend calling Cherry's Fine Guns for a fair appraisal. leroy...1 point

I see nothing on the package or SRO that says 'made in USA', except it does say the packaging is made in USA. Also in couple of places on the box it comes in and the owner's manual it gives export warnings as well as American patents. But I am pretty darn happy with my SRO placed on my 5" M&P pro. Had a local 'smith cut the slide, the same depth as the rear sight; removed the rear sight totally. I still consider these things cheating. ''1 point

No idea about west TN. They've been running fiber cables here for the last 6 months and I've seen zip about when it'll be available.1 point

The pre 64 bolt actions do not command the premium that pre 64 levers do but they are sought after. It all depends on caliber and condition. Looking forward to seeing some pics.1 point
-
Yep they are 5s. Like you said value is all based on condition. I see a Gunbroker ended auction for a Pre-64 Model 70 .330 H&H that says "NIB" which ended for just over $4000. Of course I also see it was relisted. I doubt he had 2 of those, so there could be some funny math there. I away question auctions that end way above the norm because that is a way money launderers move money around and simply don't exchange the item, In contrast I see one that ended for $661. Like Kharman said pictures including any boxes and accessories would be a good start.1 point

I'll bring this thread back to life... In the midst of this madness, we brought this guy home Easter weekend. A friend of my wife's dogs unexpectedly had 13 puppies and it was time for our boys to have another dog. He's a black lab, Black Russian terrier mix, we named him Shadow. He leads a hard life around here.... Potty training is still very much a work in process at this point, some apparent tummy issues aren't helping. Otherwise he's very good natured and is learning the basics reasonably well. Our cat (the turd) is unconvinced, which suits me fine.1 point

Well, my G45 is more accurate than any other Glock I've owned. The addition of front slide serrations is very helpful on the slick finish they use now. The frontstrap is finally flat all the way to the bottom, with no finger grooves or irritating scallop with sharp edges. And of course the texture is a great improvement over the Gen 2 and Gen 3, which were slippery. I've always hated the G19 because there were either finger grooves or a scallop that made the grip uncomfortable, and I couldn't quite get all my fingers on the grip.1 point

Yesterday I had the chance to warm up my .204 barrel. BHW recommends a 60 round break in procedure which involves running a patch down the bore after every 5 shots for a total of 60 rounds. After the 60 round break in, I loaded 5 rounds of Fiocchi Extrema 32 grain V-Max factory ammo in a mag and got the vise out. The pictures speak for themselves. In defense of the barrel, shot #1 was cold barreled and on shot #5 I knew I'd pulled it when the gun went bang (shooters error). All-n-all Im extremely pleased with how the gun turned out. Not only do I have one sexy @ss .204 Ruger, that thing can put your eye out kid.. (Shots taken from 100 yards with 10-15 mph varying crosswinds)1 point

Here is Bandit, I guess she is four months old now? Got her from here on the board. She is dangerous smart. You can see the remains of a cow hoof in pieces on the carpet. I think it lasted an hour. A record to be honest.1 point
