  1. God chose man(HIS disciples) to teach the gospel to mankind. God gave them what is called, "The great commission." (Mark 16:15-16) And he said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned." Praised God for the resurrection of the Christ, and for what God has done for all mankind. Thanks be to Jesus for what He has done for all of us. Have a happy day! Good Bible Lesson, on Christ, if you care to watch. www.godsredeemed.org/index.php/sermons-classes

  2. And I meant to add this earlier: Your neighbor sounds like a pretty reasonable guy, as do you. Thanks for posting up a story along the lines of "Two neighbors have rational, reasonable discussion about mutual land use, try to come to mutually agreeable solution." I think that's still pretty common, but we don't hear enough about it these days...

  5. Happy Resurrection Sunday to all! In this season of trial I hope all will remember that HE IS RISEN AND STILL ON THE THRONE! Psalm 91: He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.a 2I will say to the LORD, “You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” 3Surely He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly plague. 4He will cover you with His feathers; under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and rampart. 5You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, 6nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the calamity that destroys at noon. 7Though a thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, no harm will come near you. 8You will only see it with your eyes and witness the punishment of the wicked. 9Because you have made the LORD your dwelling— my refuge, the Most High— 10no evil will befall you, no plague will approach your tent. 11For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. 12They will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.b 13You will tread on the lion and cobra; you will trample the young lion and serpent. 14“Because he loves Me, I will deliver him; because he knows My name, I will protect him. 15When he calls out to Me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him and honor him. 16With long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.”

  7. Defense of a third party is specifically mentioned in the law as a justified use of deadly force. So it is legally correct as well as morally correct.

  8. Keep this in mind, if it’s a legal issue that would keep you from intervening, then that should not be an issue. You have a right to defend yourself, family member or an innocent bystander. If your carrying a firearm and innocent lives are being taken right infront of you and you do not help then that’s a decision you will have to live with. I personally would not hesitate to eliminate the threat. Be a good witness, yes if that’s what’s needed, but when lives are being taken, it’s time to step up and take the threat down with over powering force with the quickness.

  10. The other thread about 22lr suggestions got me thinking about how each of us probably tend to gravitate to one caliber or type of rifle/pistol. For me, that is 22's. I love 22's of all sorts. I am pretty well versed in 22's and have a lot of them including many competition guns (I shoot 22lr Benchrest), but I got to thinking about what got me started to really love them. We don't have a lot of 22 threads on here, but I thought it would be cool (at least for me) to see what others consider to be their favorite personally owned 22 pistol and/or rifle and why. I am sure for some it will be a handed down rifle from their parent or grandparent. For others it may just be an era of guns, or it could be the only one you have. I am always looking to learn more about different 22's so also hoping maybe I will see something that intrigues me that I didn't know about. It doesn't need to be expensive or rare, just loved by you. Let's limit it to one rifle and pistol per person. Can be hard for those with many, but there is always that one that means just a bit more. I'll start. Rifle: Winchester Model 52D with 14x Unertl When I first got into 22's a buddy of mine had a 52C that I shot and I fell in love. Many years later I own a few, but this probably my favorite. This is what got me started into thinking about shooting Benchrest and started me down the rabbit hole. I just had it out a few days ago shooting targets. It's still impressive to how well these old guns shoot. Pistol: Browning Medalist As you can probably see, I lean towards old classics. I actually bought this gun on here from a fellow member. I love older target pistols like 41's, Hi Standard's, and of course this Browning. Something about these that once I saw one I had to have one. The grips are amazing and it is just plain fun to shoot. This is a shooter grade, but a pistol I smile at every time I get it out and shoot. I hope some find this thread enjoyable. I know most are more tactical oriented on here.

  11. Watched the Livestream from our church (Rechoboth Baptist Church) and ended the service with communion. Picked up the communion cup with wafer at the church in a drive-by earlier in the week. Also watched Charles Stanley. Heard some great messages. God is Good all the time, all the time God is Good. Quote Edit

  12. And therein lies the problem. You are judging us on facts that you don’t understand. “simply for seeing him attack others” was no where close to what happened; so, I assume you aren’t familiar with what happened. I’m good with any investigator coming back and reading my comments. Those actions would clearly be within what is allowed by law, the way I was trained at the Police Academy, and probably the way they are being trained all over the country. When you go though training, and I hope you will if you are going to judge others, you will find that if you are carrying a gun, there may someday be a need to use it. There may be little time to act, and you damn well better know if you are justified or not. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying you shouldn’t have judged those of us that made statements. That’s what we do here after shootings, deadly force incidents, or “what if” scenarios. Armed with hindsight being 20/20 we arm chair quarterback, and judge all that has happened. It is a learning experience. However, we make an attempt to stick to the facts. Sometimes that’s difficult with the media not always wanting to be accurate with the facts. But we do the best we can. So your “simply for seeing him attack others” is not accurate and more like something the liberal left would print. A more accurate statement by you would have been “simply for seeing him brutally stabbing several women to death”. That would be factual, but of course would make the rest of your assumption look silly.

  16. Favorite Rifle: Marlin 39A. My first .22LR I bought. Sentimental Rifle: Octagonal barrel Winchester Model 61 with a four digit serial number. It was the only firearm my father owned. He had a Lion Oil service station over in the Green Hills area in the 1930's. He ran tabs on gas, oil, etc. for many people. A man owed him $15. The man left the Model 61 with him until he could pay the bill. The man never came back. I learned to shoot with this rifle. Favorite Revolver: Colt Diamondback .22LR Favorite Semi-Auto: Ruger Mark II Bull Barrel that Hamilton Bowen put a custom trigger on that breaks like butter.

  21. What have I found lacking in planning? A lot. No one expected the government to shut down society and the economy. This situation has gotten 100% out of hand. What’s going to happen the next time a new strain of flu or some other unknown virus comes along? The only sure thing is it will happen again.

  22. True that. I might be making a new post about the whole gun rather than the stock depending on how that goes.

  25. Sunflower or tall sorghum with Iron Clay Peas and Lablab is supposed to be a good mix. It's lots of protein and the sunflower/ sorghum gives the beans something to climb. It should provide lots of cover too. Lablab is drought tolerant too.

  26. Good choices. I've had the 597 and let it go. Bad move on my part. And still want a 617, just not willing to pay for one. But as consolation prize...I do have a Taurus Tracker 22 that's fun. lol Really.

  28. My first rifle was a Marlin bolt action. If my memory is correct it was about $13. The necessity to load and cock the hammer for each round made me learn to concentrate on the basics before firing it.

  29. Recently I installed a RMR 3.25 MOA dot model and tweaked one of my IWB holsters to accommodate it. Then I put another 900 rounds through it, so by my estimates so far I have about 2200 rounds through the Masada. I'm happy to report that I've had zero malfunctions so far; all ammo has been my RN reloads. The trigger slap is 100% gone at this point. Reloads aren't quite as smooth as I'd like, due to the shape of the mag well, but that's the only thing I can complain about. I've been carrying the gun for about a week now and so far, so good. Next thing on the list is to get a set of higher sights. The RMR sight body pretty much covers the front sight so I can't use it for any kind of index.

  30. I read you're from Ft. Pierce...small world. I hope to escape from the Treasure Coast and join you up there in another 2.5 years. It'll certainly take me some time to get used to the differences regarding gun laws in TN versus FL. Some of those differences I feel are good, some not so much.

  36. Several years ago I got a bolt on tri-fuel kit for my generator from US Carburetion . Gas/propane/natural gas option without permanent modification to your carburetor. I caught it on a 50% off sale so that was nice. My gas reserve is earmarked for my cars, so the propane and natural gas for the generator is my main plan. (The main difference is the supply lines for the natural gas need to be larger due to the lower pressure than propane.) Mine actually runs better on the propane than gas. The first choice is the natural gas due to the "theoretical endless supply" of natural gas to my house unless the gas company goes down. Then switch to the propane. https://www.motorsnorkel.com/motor-snorkel-tri-fuel-natural-gas-propane-and-gasoline-conversion-kit-4390.html

  37. I used to be a firearms dealer. A denial is fairly common with the Tennessee background check system. This state has it's own background check system. I probably had about 5% denied. About 80% of the denials were approved within 72 hours of submitting an appeal. The TICS people are probably overwhelmed by all the gun purchases going on right now. I would not be too worried about it for a couple of days.

  41. While I agree it is silly, Glock models are called by the patent number that they are not named that way
    1 point
  42. "Glock 45 in 9mm". Seriously? Who was the non-genius in Glock's marketing department who decided on THAT model number for their latest 9mm? Talk about confusing people. "Hey you want to see my new Glock 45?" "Sure! So is it the new model 36 or a 21?" "No, it's a 45." "OK. But which 45 is it?" "It's not a .45, it's a 9mm." "Dude. This is just insane. Don't you know which Glock you got?"

  43. Forster Co-Ax single stage press. You won't need all that extra Hornady stuff. You only need 2 shell holders, which covers anything out there. I load anything from 9mm to 45/70. one holder comes with the press. I bought the bigger one for the 45/70 also. Wish I had bought one years ago. Much easier to operate.
