There might be a couple laying around here. (Actually, two of these aren't revolvers. It'll take a true gun nut to figure out which two.)9 points

I’ve offered to shop for all of my neighbors - all of whom are older. It’s the least I can do - they’re all like grandparents to my kids. Don’t disregard your mental health in all of this. It’s okay to take a step back and step away from stuff like social media, the TV, and even TGO for a bit if you need to. It’s going to be important to protect your sanity in the coming days. Find someone you can reach out to and check in on. Buddy up with someone and check in regularly. If you need someone to chat with check in on here - or shoot me a PM. I’m certain we could get a group of people willing to reach out. For those of faith - pray. Find solace in a community of faith. If you or someone you know gets sick - let us know. We’ll get through this. It’s going to be tough. We’re going to need everyone to do their part. Take heart.6 points

I was at Sam's in Hendersonville today, just to see how people were reacting, and actually to pick up a few staples. Here are my Observations... NO TP, Paper towels, a very few boxes of facial tissues. Almost out of bar soaps and liquid soaps. Strangely, I thought, detergents for washing clothes were not gone. Meats seemed to be the hottest item. Little left, but I did pick up a package of steaks. Just to blend in with the crowd you know. Of course canned goods getting low. I actually forgot what I went after while watching people though. Not going back. Speaking of "People," It seemed to me that the crowd was very heavy on older people. Maybe 75%. A few that looked 30/40ish. Almost no really young or children. Take what you will from this. Just what I saw. Now a bit of positivity on my very young neighbors(30ish with 2 kids). The young wife called my wife and asked if they could shop for us, instead of me going out. They knew I did all the shopping and didn't want me to go and risk any exposure. That was so darn nice I just got misty. Really...I did.5 points

We’re (truck drivers) still out and about on the road, the stores are still getting restocked. So no need to sweat it too much right now.4 points

Sure. Here are some pics. Because revolvers threads are just worthless without pics. I just picked up a new Blackhawk Convertible but don’t have any pics yet. I still need a 6” 686 Post-Lock that’s tapped, but I haven’t found one yet for less than new price. I want to take that scope off the 617 and put on a 686.4 points

I am doing the same I do for every other event of this or any nature. I reload then go shoot, most of the time I am the only one at the range because it is an outdoor range and I go early and the weather may not be optimal. I do not and have never liked being around a lot of people and that has not changed as I have gotten older. If I do catch something and die well I have been living on borrowed time from before I was born. I appreciate all the time I have had and enjoy most of my family.3 points

Its not price gouging if people are willing to pay it. If they waited til now to buy they deserve it anyways. Same as every other panic that affects the completely unprepared. I don't blame these websites for making money while they can most of last year and this year they have had very little if any margins so they have to make money too.3 points

Because social media told us that TP was in shortage. Self-fulfilling prophecy. People are easily manipulated sheep.3 points

We're probably getting the virus we deserve, but natural selection will take the wrong batch of people, and I don't see us getting smarter as a result. Darwin's batting average isn't as high as one might hope it to be.3 points

I really wish for once he could have admitted that he’s not the smartest guy in the room and deferred to those best equipped to handle this. What really kills me is that there was a golden opportunity to not only do good, but reinforce his goals of moving industry back to the US under the auspices of national security and general public welfare. If he could have come out with an honest “this is gonna suck for a while, but we will listen to the experts like Dr. Fauci and get through this together as Americans” and then pivoted to bringing back supply chains for things like pharmaceutical production back to the US as a national security necessity, he would have greatly helped the nation and also mitigated fallout from the economic downturn caused by COVID-19.3 points

I saw this earlier today. It boggles the mind what constitutional violations local municipalities can come up with. Of course they said they don’t intend to exercise their new self-granted powers. The banning of firearms and ammo transactions is about par for the course but the seizure of personal property is a massive threat. I imagine there is going to be a wave of such governmental hysteria sweeping the nation.2 points

That's good to hear. Some of my drivers we're already talking about calling out, asking if they would still get paid. My friend at J.B. Hunt said some of their drivers were already calling off. Maybe when all this is said and done, people will appreciate your profession a little more.2 points

From what I have read this Am on the 'net, it's already started. Supposedly, people are buying guns and ammo like the did in the Obama era. I don't see the connection between the virus & personal defense. Guess some do. Panic is apparently among us.2 points

Ours here don't. Sure there are some calibers you don't save a lot on but then there are others that you can save a ton on. In my case, 41 mag., 444, 25-20, 32 colt, and 45 colt. Maybe not so much on the other dozen or so calibers, but if I need a few rounds I don't have to go anywhere to do so. But like others here I enjoy my time at the bench. Not sure if I load to shoot, or shoot to load. RP2 points

The tragic irony (and paradox) of countering pandemics is if you are appropriately aggressive early enough and successfully isolate and contain an outbreak, the population will think you overreacted because it wasnt worse. But it wasnt worse because of how you reacted. They will associate it with not being as bad as the govt thought. That means spending tens of billions (which seems reasonable now compared to the economic impact) will be so relatively extreme early on that people will balk at the idea. This is one of the things where proportional response is not what you want. Experience overseas has shown the median serial interval for coronavirus is shorter than the median incubation period so an infected person can spread the virus potentially for days prior to feeling ill, showing signs and symptoms or even knowing they are infected. I am concerned with this one, but its because I live in proximity to a 65 yo and 70 yo who are important to me, and who have a lot of comorbid risk factors. So I will take the funny looks going to the store wearing a mask while people buying all the toilet paper get a nod.2 points

I go grocery shopping once a month. I usually later make a small trip to the store once or twice for items I forgot or just run out of. I did my shopping last week and it was fine. Just another routine trip to the store. Well I forgot a couple of items and a disabled friend asked me to pick up a few things for her. So I went to Kroger this morning. WHOA! What a mad house! The place was packed! People everywhere with carts piled high! All the usual stuff that;s already been reported was gone. Lots of empty shelf space. This store normally has one entire aisle of nothing but toilet paper. There were maybe 10-12 packs left. I'm ok on TP, but I didn't know about my friend. So I grabbed 3 six packs just because I was there and so was it. What little was left disappeared before I had cleared the aisle. What should have been a quick 10-15 minute stop at the store took over an hour due to the crowd. Top story on the local news tonight was about panic buying at local stores. It seems the mess I witnessed today is quite common all over the Memphis area. Oh well, I'm good for a couple of months at least. I feel sorry for those who waited and are now too late.2 points

One of my past co-workers has an issue in all this insanity. His son has multiple medical issues and needs advil, ibuprophen, and Benadryl at times. White House area is depleted. He is in Atlanta on a work trip and hoping to score some while there. Thankfully, the community has stepped in and is getting these to them. I would have been part of the issue as well, but I couldn't find any either.2 points

Not sure why everybody seems to be more panicked about TP, rather than food. If you don't have much food to eat, you sure won't need much TP. Nothing in, equals nothing out...2 points

Strange you should mention Aldi. I passed the local store in Madison on my way home this afternoon. The parking lot was only about half full, so I wheeled in to search for my favorite cookie. Benton's Iced Oatmeal. The tastiest cheap oatmeal and sugar treat you can find. I get inside to see that the parking lot was very misleading. Lots of shoppers with full carts and long checkout lines. I went about my search. Found the cookie section...and there it was! The holy grail of cookies. lol Eight packages of high calorie, high fat goodness. Never seen that many at one time there. I bought them all! Never know. That might end up being like ZombieLand's last Twinkie!2 points

The amount of stupidity I'm seeing on social media about the 2020 NRAAM being canceled because of COVID-19 is almost as epic as the amount of stupidity it takes for parents of kids who's schools are shut down to "self-quarantine" taking those kids out to the mall, the movies, etc. this week. Seriously, I think we damn near deserve this virus and some of us are getting in the way of Natural Selection by trying to force people to be smarter. Sort of joking. Maybe. A little. Maybe not.2 points

Expectations or forecasts that the stock market will recover quickly once this virus is conquered are unrealistic. Investors will reassess valuations based upon new earnings forecasts. At this writing, the Dow is down 28% from its recent all time high. It might appear to seem reasonable to assume that it would bounce back to its high level if a cure or other solution ended the pandemic. BUT, there is no doubt that corporate earnings (and personal incomes) have been slashed. Let's say corporate earnings are now going to be down by a third. That would leave today's stock market at nearly the same relative valuation that it was at its peak a few weeks ago. Until earnings recover (or more precisely, the anticipation of the perception of same) the market is not a screaming buy, just because it's down so much. Expect sucker rallies. A LOT has changed and it will take a lot of time to recover from this. Be patient, don't panic, and buy the next big dips cautiously. This group will certainly understand the concept of keeping some powder dry! Full disclosure: I was a stockbroker for 40 years from 1976 through 2016, with a brief timeout to get a law degree. From KU, #1....... Now, no March Madness. THAT's sad for this Jayhawk!2 points

Did yall hear about the guy from Chattanooga that has bought 17,000 bottles of hand sanitizer? He drove a few hundred miles buying it up, thinking he's gonna make a killing on it. I don't think it's worked out for him, like he thought. I hope he has to drink the crap.1 point

I do to. Because from reading that story, it sounds to me like he was violating the court order, establishing his permit. Although that isn’t clear. NJ population is more than TN, but they have 600 permits. They are #1 in population density, and #11 in population.1 point

Well, pandemic aside, there are some great deals to be had. I booked a round trip ticket to see my best friend in Portland, OR. Total cost was $156. It's the epicenter of the virus but I'll take a risk. If you are interested in any vacations now is the time to book. Our friends found a round trip flight from Atlanta to Costa Rice for $188.1 point

I can't justify a progressive, but love my auto-indexing turret press for pistol. Throw a clean piece of brass on it and it comes off a loaded round, crimp and all. I use one of my single stage presses when it's called for. But all the blaster ammo goes thru the turret press.1 point
