I'm a crazy dog guy so the ad from the owner of WeatherTech as a thank you for saving his dogs life is pretty awesome to me. He paid 6 million dollars to bring attention to the Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine which treated him and is doing great things for cancer treatment in animals. I bought WeatherTech products before but will do so again to support them.6 points

I guess I’m a little different, I set my cruise for 5 to 7 over and ride. I’ve passed state troopers like that and never got a ticket. I get a kick outta the guys who will fall in behind a cop and refuse to pass him no matter what speed he’s doing. As long as I’m not going more than 10 over on the interstate I’ll pass him just like it’s just another car. Drives my brother crazy, he won’t pass them under any circumstances. and I also won’t flash oncoming traffic to warn them there’s a cop doing radar, too many bad guys been caught on simple traffic stops.3 points

I always check https://gun.deals. You can search the gun by name, but what I like is once you know the exact model you are looking for, using model or UPC, you get a nice list of the best price. It may not say if tax is collected, but it shows shipping cost and it's easy enough to find out if they want to collect tax.2 points

SHOT Show 2020 is this week and that of course means that manufacturers are trotting out new products. If you're at SHOT you're getting a chance to fondle new things. If you're like me and stuck at home, you're seeing new stuff on the Internet. This thread will help you spend money later this year, because Holosun seems slow to get things actually into distributor channels after they announce them. Or at least that's how it was with the 508T last year. Anyway, they have announced a crap-ton of new optics so here are some things that you probably want to know about: A lot of their mini red dot optics have gotten a refresh for 2020 and now include a side-loading battery design that Trijicon should be kicking their own ass for not adopting yet (Seriously, Trijicon... what's up with that??) as well as improved, larger control buttons. 407C V2 Elite Red and Green Dot Versions 8MOA dot reticles powered by a CR1632 battery and solar cell, housed in 7075 aluminum bodies. 507C V2 Elite Red and Green Dot Versions 2MOA dot with 32MOA ring reticle design, powered by a CR2032 battery and solar cell, housed in 7075 aluminum bodies. 507K Micro Red Dot An alternative to the DOCTR and other such small red dots for your diminutive pistol! 6MOA dot reticle powered by a CR1632 battery and solar cell, housed in 7075 aluminum bodies. 508T V2 Elite Green and Red Dots A successor to the 508T already? They beefed up the body on these and it looks like it could now go toe-to-toe with the RMR for crush resistance now. 2MOA red or green dot and a 32MOA ring reticle design, powered by a CR1632 battery and solar cell, in a Titanium body. 509T Micro Red Dot If you wanted an Aimpoint ACRO that had actual battery life, Holosun is releasing one for you. Shame, Acupoint. Shame! 2MOA red dot and 32MOA circle reticle design, in a fully enclosed body, powered by a CR1632 battery and solar cell, in a Titanium body. Battery life is rated at 50,000 hours as compared to the 32 minutes and 6 seconds (exaggerated) that the ACRO gets.1 point

I'll admit that I'm bragging here a bit. But I'm happy about this buy. I've never even bought two guns in the same day, much less three. But I did just that today. It all started with some ads on Armslist. The guy listed each gun individually, but then there was a 4th ad for them as a group. I contacted him, we haggled and I believe I got a great deal. All three are Berettas. a 2016 85FS Cheetah .380, a 2001 3032 Tomcat .32acp and a 950BS Jetfire .25acp. All three are LNIB with original manuals. Not a mark on any of them. I can't seem to find a date for the Jetfire. No date code on the gun that I can find and the serial # doesn't come up on any list. The guy said it was an antique. Can anybody help with that? I'll probably have to contact Beretta. The best part? I gave $1000 for the lot. I'm tickled plumb to pieces!1 point

PSA has $50 off the 3MOA Vortex Venom using code VENOM. It ends at noon tomorrow. $197.54 delivered.1 point

I'd keep an eye on PSA. Yesterday's deal was a complete upper and lower for $349. In my mind, that's like the days of hand-select military surplus. Gotta figure a pistol deal will be in your future. Side note, the front vented barrel shroud reminds me of the PPSh-41, do they make a Glock single drum mag to complete the look?1 point

We all know as firearm owners we have to keep our firearms safe from theft and misuse. if you have ever thought about wanting to keep a long gun in the vehicle it can get very pricey to keep a shot gun or rifle secure and safe from theft. You can spend any where from $200.00 and up on a locking rack. Here is the one I built, hand cuffs for $25.00, steal for $15.00 and my time, priceless!!! Cut the cuffs in half, a few welds, grinding, paint and done. The rod that goes into the barrel is steal welded to the end piece. Covered in copper tube to protect the inside of the barrel. A piece of nylon bushing to protect the end of the barrel. The way I mounted in the truck is for latter.1 point

Here is my thing, I drive onto school grounds, it has to be locked and secure at all times. Even if a break down happens I feel secure in knowing that my firearm will not fall into the wrong hands just by looking for an unsecured firearm. I also have a lock box for a pistol. Ether will keep the firearm secure for a good while, can the system be defeated, sure, but it will take a good bit of time and a lot of noise.1 point

I agree. If you're not paying enough attention to see that police car sitting in plain sight, you deserve to pay the stupid tax. What I have issue with is when they hide or use unmarked cars for traffic enforcement. That's doing nothing to improve traffic safety, that's pure revenue generation.1 point

Finally got my permit. After the Dept of Safety and Homeland Security mailed it to me on Dec 10th, USPS, rather than delivering it to me, returned it to DSHS- after SIX WEEKS! DSHS re-mailed it to me as soon as they received it.1 point

Price of a real radar gun: Ridiculous Cost of training: Ridiculous Watching the reactions on the faces of people as they drive into the field: Priceless0 points

I had slots in the front and back of my belt I used to carry them in. But I don’t have to do that now. No one wants to handcuff me anymore.0 points

Kinda funny story, back in the day, the unit i was in only had one old handheld radar gun, and it was often down for maintenance. We also used those old Motorola 'brick' radios in a leather case. I always figured the intent of traffic enforcement was safety and getting speeders to slow down, so, when the radar was down, i used to aim my radio at cars and tehys slow the heck down when they saw me doing that, lol.0 points

Ok a few things. The short shells are sending lead down at the same speed as full size shells (1200fps). They have the same power per ball. They also should produce the same amount of gas that powered a semi auto shotgun. The feeding issue is the length of the shell itself. The chamber is not designed to properly guide and feed the shorter shells. For home defense I would feel comfortable using them as they are equally powerful but only in a break action gun. I would not risk a jamb when I needed a second shot. As for your recoil concerns: A 20 gauge shotgun often come in a smaller size frame. If it weighs less then the 12 gauge frame there is no less recoil. A 410 is an excellent option provided she can shoot it accurately. It fires 000 buck and slugs at 1200 FPS making it equally as affective per Equally sized projectile, just often there are less or they are slightly smaller .. smaller is relational, keep in mind a 410 slug is the same size as a 45 caliber handgun. Rossi makes a revolver action carbine that can be loaded with 410 shells or 45 long colt pistol rounds. Very little recoil and as the 45 rounds are only pushing 950 FPS it also is quite. This is nice for helping someone who has not grown up shooting to feel comfortable as they learn and practice. keep in mind..... because I am skilled, trained, and firearms are second nature for me,I am just as secure protecting myself with a 22 rim fire as a 12 gauge shotgun... being trained and confident always out weighs size of your gun0 points
