Got my personal best this afternoon at 3:00. It was raining steady with 12-14mph winds so the rain was falling diagonal across the field. After passing countless bucks, I could not pass this one up. 4.5 yr old chocolate rack 9 pointer. I’m sure blessed today and so thankful. All the work this year was worth this two minute long encounter with this big feller.

My pops got this chocolate 9 point this morning.

I imagine she’d just need to go apply at the admissions office. It isn’t like it Harvard or something.

Well I did a bunch of research yesterday and placed the value at $700. I called the guy this morning and offered him that. We haggled a little and settled on $750. We met, I looked the gun over real good and bought it. This thing is almost perfect! A few light marks on the barrel from operating the slide, but nothing more than you might find from it being handled in a gun store. Otherwise there ain't a mark on it. Easily 99%. Spare mag was still in the factory wrap. As soon as I got it in my hand I knew I wanted it. Ok, I may have paid a little too much. But I won't be selling it in the near future either. So when that day finally comes, I'm sure I can at least get my money back. BTW: the seller called back after I had already left to say the he had reconsidered and just had to have $800. But I didn't get the message, so he honored his word on the $750 price. Weather forecast calls for it to be wet and chilly for the next week. No Idea when I'll get a chance to shoot it. Maybe I'll use the time to put a SRT kit in it.

The GD Red Flag "laws" are UNCONSTITUTIONAL...and need to be immediately revoked/removed/rejected/thrown OUT . They already killed at least one man over this BS because they CREATED the situation required to kill him.

Apparently police in NY state were involved in a standoff with a combat vet over a Red Flag matter. Reports are LE responded to a RF report and info that he had standard capacity mags. It was alleged that LE threatened his wife with involving CPS to gain access to the home. He used Instagram to send updates out and word is that folks mobilized and showed up to support him and observe police. It may be over now, not sure. I am thin on verified details right now, but will update as I get them. Any and all info in the first paragraph may be corrected later as verified information rolls in.

These two bucks came out and ate 30 yards from me for 45 minutes on the last day of archery season. It tested my patience since they are nice bucks but not what we were after on this farm. The experience was rewarding just seeing them interact with each other. One bedded down for 10 minutes while the other continued eating haha They will be really nice bucks next year though.

I've spent a lot of time and money on my new place. I easily see 15 to 25 deer every time I go. I've let two good deer walk so far and this morning all of my buddy's are sending me pictures of big deer they have shot. Regretting my decision. LOL

LOL I know what you mean though, in the woods where I hunt, unless he is bullwinkle I won't shoot in someplaces because just getting to him to put rope for winch would be a workout for me. Shoot them danged coyotes!!!

They have these things they call “Indoor ranges”...I know, its crazy!! But they turn on the heat and let you shoot inside the building!

Yeah, .44 Special is kind of a niche cartridge. Lots more people shooting magnums than specials. So magnums are cheaper and more available.

There are plenty of articles on “Made in Germany” sigs and how people get scammed. You might want to check those out if you are paying a premium for that.

Shot this 3.5 y/o 7pt a few weeks ago. Here in unit CWD our gun season started early.

22lr=pop...3 cents. 22 mag=bang...20 cents. Same hole.

The FAL is a beast...and I mean that as a compliment, not a pejorative. If I ever felt the 7.62x51 itch, that's where my money would go.

I got a Ruger New Model Super Blackhawk .44Mag in a trade tonight. A few “Firsts” for me. First Ruger Revolver, First Single action, First .44Mag. I’m pretty much a Smith & Wesson guy and I don’t know if I’ll be able to get onboard with this single action business, or if I’ll even keep this. But this thing is a monster. If I ran out of ammo; I could use it as a club.

I say this in the nicest way... I hate you guys... Where I get to hunt taking a 4 point would be a FANTASTIC day. Taking one of those might might cause me some cardiac arrest....
