  1. This topic was visited not to long ago and just to save repeating some of the opinions, Heres that post. I wrote a rather lengthy reply since IMO, the cartridge is dam near what you could call a jack of all trades. Cost has come down considerably with Web purchases of just over 7 bucks a box for Feds and 6 plus a box for Armscor (made in Victor MT now) here at Surplus https://www.surplusammo.com/categories/rimfire-ammo/22-magnum-wmr-ammo.html Anyway, as I describe in my reply to xsubsailor, when 50 rounds can fit into your pocket and handle a variety of jobs, its a winner in my book. https://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/111268-22-magnum-rifle/

  2. Biggest difference is in hunting. I once shot a 70 lb redbone hound, that was killing calves, with a 22 mag. Hit him, at 40 yards, in the chest as he was running toward me. He looked like a stovepipe afterwards. Big difference in power over the 22 LR. I have one that is scoped. Good gun for a limited purpose.

  3. My Rock Island pistol finally arrived last week. Took her to the range and fed a few rounds through it. I had no FTEs or FTFs in 100 rounds. The stock magazine worked good. I also bought a WC magazine just in case the stock mag had issues. This is my first .45. One day I hope to get an American made 1911 but for now this is good for me. It is the Ultra FS series.

  5. I put together an AR pistol for the same reasons as you and didn't go with the brace. I really like my setup and enjoy shooting it and wanted to make a couple of suggestions. I put a foam pad on the buffer tube so it's more comfortable to hold against my cheek and my red dot is on a riser which makes it the correct height while holding against cheek. The sights are cheap ones I got from Midsouth Shooters Supply, I think they were $30 but they work fine. Not sure how they will old up long term though.

  7. Imagine the headline if this gun ended up being used in a crime. "Stolen gun, ignored by police used to kill "xyz". Maybe the police need to be reminded of this potential outcome...

  9. I would think so, especially if it leads to a larger gun theft group, which may be a possibility.

  10. That's my set up. I keep both a .22 and a .223 handy. Squirrels to deer I'm covered with those two rounds.

  12. I always give the cops the benefit of the doubt. I’ve never made any excuses for that. Until they don’t deserve it. This is one of those cases. I hate it that you are talking to some lazy azz cops that don’t want to do their job. Hopefully that paperwork will get the attention of a Metro cop that’s on top of things. You can’t go meet this guy. He’s a criminal and he’s armed. How do you think that will end?

  13. Have you checked for your ammo online? Most have free shipping if you are buying over 500-1000 rounds. I used to go to the gun shows, Murfreesboro is probably the best in the Midstate. Most of my gun shopping is done online now, both new and used. However, here are a couple I would like to check out. The one in Virginia is next week.
