  1. You heard wrong. They openly discriminate against gun discussion and gun-related topics, to the point of deleting posts and shutting down groups without warning. I am confident this trend will accelerate.

  2. Nothing hard at all about the 380 EZ, almost anyone can load the mag and manipulate the slide. Once loaded, flip the safety and fire away. Cap of 10 + 1. All bullets will penetrate walls, 9mm as much as a .223. If proficient with the EZ, may not need much else. If I had to look at a long gun, would be an inexpensive Valdiz at Academy. 20ga holds 5 +1, easy to practice with field loads; slugs and 000 buck readily available. However, this is a heavier gun, awkward to use in CQ and heavy loads may be a little much even in the 20 ga. Not a fan of revolvers for most women of little experience.

  3. I'd lean more toward the pistol for home defense and a handgun class or two beyond the HCP test. Running a carbine inside a house takes more training than most people are interested in. If she decides she enjoys guns and wants to do more, then definitely proceed.

  4. If you’re basing business decisions on Facebook traffic, I question whether you might be better off just taking that money and just burning it. We’ve already got the data showing that they’re purposefully inflating numbers they’re showing advertisers. Instagram is owned by Facebook for those who may not know. Like it’s predecessor, it’s a giant time suck.

  5. I always cut bait my bigger stripers, use skipjack and don't use weight, 3oz chunks is usually heavy enough. Here's a few of the bigger ones we've caught.

  6. It doesn't take much. A single lead sinker or shotgun pellet will kill a bird. Birds typically don't pass lead they've injested. Once it hits their stomach, it's there until it dissolves.

  7. I am going to make the assumption that a 61 year old woman is not going to want to go to training classes and spend the time to be proficient with an AR. If I’m wrong about that I apologize. I wouldn’t put her in an AR for a house gun. Not unless she is going to train with it and make sure she can make it fire when it needs to, and safe when it needs to be. One gun could probably do all three jobs, but I might go with two. A 4” 686 or a GP100 (A full size 4” 357Mag Revolver). I have many firearms and a 686 is my headboard gun. No safeties, No magazines, No jams, No misfires, the original point & click interface. I then have several semi-auto handguns laying around in case I need them. For carry…whatever she likes, and will carry, in a respectable caliber. As far as holsters go there is a woman on YouTube that has a bunch of videos that specifically deal with holsters for women and how they dress. Maybe someone here knows who I’m talking about; if not I’ll see if I can find it. Go with her to the classes and the range or find someone that will. She probably won’t go much by herself.

  8. Maybe the “kid” didn’t understand what “out the door” means and the owner will straighten him out. Their prices look pretty darn good. Unless that Springfield M1A is a lot rougher than it looks in that picture; $1050 is a whole bunch less than the prices I see being asked for used. They sell for $1500 new. So that rifle is priced right for used . That Beretta APX is $525 online price new. So $375 out the door on used is where it should be. I don’t think they were trying to mark that M1A as a Garand. I think they were trying to let you know what a GRAND deal it is.

  11. Picked it up today. The FFL I decided to use closed for 2 weeks for renovation without putting it on their web site. The double action trigger is definitely safe. I actually think I could hang it off my belt by the trigger and not have to worry about it. But I knew that when I ordered it. I haven’t had a small gun recently that I felt comfortable putting it in a jacket pocket without a holster covering the trigger, to walk the trash out to the curb or go to the mailbox; I do now. It only came with one mag; supposed to be two. Guess I’ll find out if PSA or SCCY will take care of that. EDIT: I just noticed in the description that this is a “special” deal and only includes one mag. So much, for me not paying attention. My wife says I do that to her all the time….. shes right.

  12. Sure you can, reload lite. I have a 14 year old nephew that thinks it is so cool to shoot a 44 Mag, I load them lite for him. I load some hot that will let you know you are ALIVE!

  13. I've got this theory that the Israelis are pretty damned good at building functional, practical, effective weapons because they know they'll put them to use on a regular basis.
