I don't own any AR15's or Ak47's but that is by choice and not because I'm afraid they will come and take them away from me and arrest me. I own 1 long gun and it is a Marlin 60 22cal with a scope in case I want to go squirrel hunting. The politicians keep calling the AR's assault weapons or Military style weapons but I know several people that hunt with them and are very successful deer hunters. Yea to a point they are the gun of choice in many of the mass shootings but so have pistols also been used in much the same manner. The mass shooting at W Virginia Tech, 33 people were killed and the shooter was using a Glock 19 and a Walther P22. Are those considered assault weapons now too? Of course not yet!! There have been several other mass shootings where a pistol/pistols were used. The reason the politicians call these guns assault weapons is because if you were to actually sit down with several of them and have a debate you will find most of them could not tell you what gun is which or tell you who the manufacturer is, what the caliber is or anything else about them. It is mostly follow the leader and nothing more. It is a case of the Blind leading the blind and all falling in the same hole!!! Also the politicians that don't want Americans to have guns are the same ones that when they leave their homes they have anywhere from 4 to 8 body guards protecting them with of all things, guns!!! Many of them also carry one themselves. Also I wonder how many of them can tell you what type of firearms Charles Whitman used back in 1966 when he began shooting people from the Tower at Texas A&M. He didn't have one of these so called assault weapons but still managed to kill 11 people and wounded numerous others before law enforcement shot and killed him. It was later said after an autopsy that he had mental issues due to a tumor in his head. So how many people honestly believe that if they did get the so called assault weapons taken away they will stop the mass murders? If that is what they believe they are dreaming!! There is not a law that can be written that will stop Criminals from obtaining guns. There is not a law that can be written that can stop a mass murderer from carrying out their plans. If they can't get a gun they will get a truck, a car, a knife, a ball bat or some other type of weapon but they will continue to kill people. That is what they do...................JMHO2 points

I have Leupold, Vortex, and Nikon. I’m a Leupold fan boy. Besides the clear sight picture; they are much easier to get a sight picture than my other scopes. There is a reason they are King of the scope market. Elliot, I’m not saying your Nightforce scope's aren’t exceptional. But us mere mortals can’t afford them.1 point

What principle? Colt has been in financially precarious waters the past few years and the AR market is flooded. It makes perfect sense to get out of ARs for the time being. Their timing is unfortunate because it helps feed the loony left's narrative that retailers, manufacturers, and gun owners all support bans, but nothing indicates that Colt has bowed to pressure from the anti-2A crowd.1 point

At some point enough people will simply get tired of this constant "we are gonna ban your stuff and take it away from you talk" and civil disobedience will be widespread. If enough people simply say "NO" then what exactly do you think will happen? Of course them actually calling their congressmen and saying they do not support any of that stuff the socialist communists are pushing before it goes anywhere would be a great start and probably head off any REAL unpleasantness but for some reason people tend to not act until after things get out of hand. "Is it ignorance or apathy?" " Well I don't know and I don't care"..... The problem with trying to enforce unpopular laws on 300 MILLION people (or even on 3 MILLION people) that refuse to comply is you do not have the manpower to implement it IF enough people organize and refuse to play along. If the full weight of the US govt and a coalition of foreign nations took years to put down an insurrection (and still did not succeed completely) in a country smaller than the size of Texas (Iraq) where the insurgents were only a tiny sliver of the actual population then how exactly are these would be socialist/communists politicians who we all fear being in charge going to put down the insurgency that will happen when enough people say NO to their plans for the US? Especially if they do not have the 100% support of the whole military and police forces who do not support that stuff? A LARGE portion of them lean more to the right than the left...and not ALL left leaning folks are for totalitarianism. The Sheriff here has already publicly said he has no interest in enforcing any new federal gun laws. The largest irregular guerrilla army in history is already armed......the largest corp of snipers in history practices every year during hunting season and during organized shooting matches. The will of the governed to continue to be governed is the only thing allowing a gun ban to even be a possibility. And unfortunately.....barring some unforeseen return to sanity by the left at some point that will of the silent majority to continue to accept this government as legitimate is going to wane.......we already see it to some degree on the "other side" .You see the problems caused by the statistically insignificant number of Antifa kooks out there. What happens when the silent majority actually gets out in the street and starts making noise? History is pretty interesting....unfortunately few people still read it.1 point
