It’s worth noting for the record that over reliance on military contracts was what put them into bankruptcy last time.4 points

Sciens Capital - the private equity group that has the majority stake in Colt doesn't care the first thing in the world about the 2nd Amendment. They care about maximizing the money they can squeeze out of the place. That's it. It's the reason they separated off the consumer division from the defense division and left the former to languish back in 2005 when they took it over. It's the reason they used over $100M of the debt they originally raised to pay distributions to the private equity investors. It's the reason that they almost didn't come out of bankruptcy in 2016 - because Sciens Capital had a hard time raising the capital cushion their other lenders required. They're not innovating. They're simply trying to ride that pony for as long as they can before it's finally worthless.3 points

I have Leupold, Vortex, and Nikon. I’m a Leupold fan boy. Besides the clear sight picture; they are much easier to get a sight picture than my other scopes. There is a reason they are King of the scope market. Elliot, I’m not saying your Nightforce scope's aren’t exceptional. But us mere mortals can’t afford them.3 points

Last year I started seeing magnifying glasses showing up in the mail after admitting the years where finally catching up to my eyes. I found these lighted magnifiers helpful. @ under $10 with the coupon thought I would share. Didn't need another one, but hey...freebie tweezers. Listed @ $32.90, use coupon "70KWWYSS" to get $23.03 off, for a final price of $9.87 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NYVX1DT?smid=A1ZIO3PCRNW7R3&psc=1&_encoding=UTF8&tag=edealinfocom-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325 Sorry if this is the wrong section, move as needed.2 points

Certainly when it comes to private equity, yeah - that’s pretty much it. Lord knows y’all have lived that story.2 points

Be careful! Do yourself (and your wallet) a favor if you’re really impressed with that Leupold and don’t ever put a Nightforce optic to your eye. They’re a hella expensive addiction to take up.2 points

I'm brand new to this site and I have been a member of the outdoors trader .com (S/N Bullseye) for the last 10 years. I have tons of positive feedback from buying selling and trading gun, gear, accessories, and everything in between. I hope to make some deals with the fine patriots on this site.1 point

I promise if I gave up my AR it would not make your kids or grandkids safer. A one night ride-along with his local PD, and even he would probably figure out that people won’t simply obey the law. What the heck am I saying?? He knows that better than most; he’s been cuffed and stuffed more than once. There are laws against driving drunk and burglary in all states.1 point

While we're on the topic I wanted to share a recent Beto disaster. He went on Reddit yesterday to do an "AMA" which stands for ask me anything. It's pretty common for politicians. Anyways, one of the reddit users asked him how he would confiscate millions of AR'15's. His response is below. Notice, he was downvoted nearly 13,000 times... This is especially remarkable since Reddit is typically pretty left leaning. He got absolutely roasted in the comments.1 point

This was prior to their exit from bankruptcy in 2016. I expect at this point, they've got the financing they've got. Short of us getting in a shooting fight with Iran or hard times befalling FN, I don't see them as terribly relevant. Remington has stepped up their AR game and has won contracts of late, too. They fought and won the Colt & FN award in 2016 - noting that the DoD hadn't taken into account Colt's financial situation. The courts agreed. They also won a decent carbine contract last year.1 point

I have a full-sized PX4 9mm which is decent enough. I converted the safety lever to a decocker-only setup. The rotating barrel does mitigate recoil noticeably, and you can install a lighter hammer spring to make the DA pull easier. I'm with some of you guys, though, I always thought the subcompact version was way too bulky for what it was. A Beretta compact I do like very much (for some inexplicable reason) is the 96 Compact. I bought a 92 Compact later to keep it company but somehow still prefer the .40. I guess it's because it's scaled down just enough from the full-sized model to make it very handy, yet controllable.1 point

I have always thought the hype about Leupold and other high end scopes was blown out of proportion. I finally broke down and bought a vintage Vari-X III 3.5-10x40 after seeing everybody's recommendation for a scope on the model 70 i bought a few months back and wow. What have I been shooting with all these years? Crystal clear and i love the eye relief.1 point

Like Chucktshoes, I’m not saying I think it would be a commercial transaction because it’s on a Web site, or that the web site would handle any part of it. I posted the bill that I did to show that it depends on what they define a commercial sale to be. No one cares what Webster defines it has; that has zero impact. The law would be whatever was defined in the text. But the way I read that bill anything that was advertised was a commercial sale. Under that bill your Arby’s scenario would be a private non-commercial sale and not require a background check. For that reason, I doubt it would make it though the current House of Representatives. That bill was VETOED, and I only used it as an example of how the word “Commercial” could be legislated to mean something other than what we generally think of. I don’t think any legislation that leaves any private transfer, sale or not, possible will make it through the house. Except for immediate family members, and they may no even go for that. I think most Americans simply think prohibiting criminals and mental cases from being able to buy guns is a good idea. The Democrats would like to take that one step farther and tie liability to anyone allowing advertising. They want to destroy all gun forums and gun sale sites. If Trump is the anti-gun President some here claim he is; they may get what they want. If he is not; he will not allow it to happen. That is, if it made it though the Senate; which it wouldn’t. However….this was just a memo. Barr hasn’t come up with anything legislators haven’t thought of. But since he doesn’t have to worry about being reelected; he can be more open about it.1 point

Sorry to say, but more than likely any person that may have been like these 3 were aborted over the years. From 1970 -2015 the CDC says about 45.7 million babies have been aborted. Very possible there were doctors and scientists that could have found the cure for cancer and unknown other diseases. Presidents, senators, congressmen, supreme court justices and the list goes on and on and on.1 point

Analysis: Colt simply can’t compete and never could, at least in the past few decades in the civilian market IMHO. They thrive off government contracts and have done so since the company was founded. The media is, and will, portray Colt’s press release as saying that there are too many AR’s in civilian hands and that only the government should have them. Edit: The damage is done.1 point

I certainly enjoy shooting my TX22. Just be sure to lube it before taking it to the range. Mine initially wasn't extracting standard velocity rounds consistently. Cleaning and lubing fixed the issue for me.1 point

I very much disagree. TGO isn't selling firearms. All we are doing is connecting people with each other, and the transactions of personally owned items that occur between individuals aren't commercial sales. If the government decides that an individual can no longer sell their privately owned firearm to a person other than a family member without it going through a background check, then the government has essentially made a step toward firearms becoming non-transferrable items which is a step toward banning them entirely. You folks need to be thinking about that pretty hard and burning up your representatives' phone lines when the sun rises Thursday.1 point

About 10 years ago a friend of mine bought AR10T brand new. The gun had serious failure to eject. Like not ONE ejection. He was using "90"s LC mil ball ammo. Some PMC actually left the action. I went over EVERTHING from gas port, gas tube, Locking lug clocking, bolt, recoil spring, everything effecting ejection. Eventualy I got it to eject FM military ammo that happens to be the hottest x51 i'v ever had. He sent it back to the factory and it came back exactly like it was sent with no issues found! He sold that POS. What a turd. If you want a real battle rifle, get a FAL. they will eat anything you stuff in the mag. hot, cold...... whatever.0 points
