  1. "Teen suspect killed in restaurant robbery attempt is Nashville's third self-defense shooting in ten days" That is the headline of a story right now. All three were attempting to rob people at gun point when they got shot. The good guys have been charged. I hate to break it to you, but the Nashville DA has charged a cop with murder for doing exactly what you described. And if they can do with him; it will be a lot easier to do it with any of us. [RANT ON] It burns me up that the liberals and conservatives alike want to hold innocent citizens responsible for the actions of criminals. These laws they want will never hold up to a court challenge. Also, how are they going to determine if the car was locked or not; ask the criminal? Don’t laugh at that; I bet that’s what they do. Plea bargain with a statement the vehicle was unlocked at they get a conviction plus another suspect that might have some money they can get. I keep a gun in my car. I go places I can't carry it. I lock my car. That doesn't mean a criminal can't commit a burglary by opening my car. One of us gets arrested because a gun stolen from our car was used in a crime and bet you have gun owners lined up to say "He should have had his car locked." or "He should have had a safe in his car." I have an idea. Unhandcuff the Police, tell them to stop the violent crime in their areas of assignment, assure them that when they arrest the violent thugs with guns those criminals will go to jail and they won’t get out for a very long time, give your Officers the support they deserve; have their back. 2. That handle material is neat. Even if it's not really your thing - you've got to appreciate the process to create that material.

Music City SCI Meeting is Monday 6-8pm at Royal Range. We'll have a guest speaker talking to us about re-establishing quail populations in Tennessee.

  4. I shoot it every month. It's lots of fun and a little different (can't make up misses) so you have to slow down enough to hit the first time. You should try it out. There's no pre-registration on practiscore so show up at 08:30 on Saturday to register. Match is usually over by noon. Windrock is also a great place to shoot in general. Eric (the owner) is a great guy; friendly and helpful. Try it out, you'll be glad you did.

  5. 11 1/2" OAL beauty with a false edge and hollow grind. The blade is right at 6" long. it has over 500 layers to achieve it's look. It's about 3/16" thick at the spine. The handles are new product from Voodoo Resins. They have this unique look with the added aluminum mesh added into the blade. Very cool and different. It has SS pins and lanyard tube and comes with the combo kydex/leather sheath shown.

  6. Well, I was watching the news tonight and another bad guy with a gun was shot and killed by a good guy with a gun in or around Nashville and all of the cases have been declared self defense and the news medias have named in Vigilante Justice. I'm sorry but when someone confronts you with a gun and threatens you and you shoot him that is not Vigilante Justice. That is self defense and that loks like that is the way the DA is seeing it also and no charges are expected to be filed on any of the good guys. On another note I couldn't believe how many firearms have been stolen from unlocked vehicles just this year. Over 200 guns have been stolen out of unlocked cars in the owners driveway at night. And they wonder how these youg kids are getting their guns? I didn't catch the name of the person that works at the DA's office but he said that they are looking at going to the legislators and getting a law drawn up making the car or truck owners liable for charges if the gun that was taken from their vehicle is used in a crime. I don't know if that will happen but something has to be done about gun owners that are so careless as to leave a loaded gun in an unlocked vehicle over night!!!!!.............JMHO

  10. Really? Thanks for that insider info. I will come and see you when I add my next .40 handgun because I know you will want to give me a whopping big discount on the gun and ammo..... Since it’s going by the wayside and all. It will be a Win/Win for both of us.

  15. 1/16 is a typical 22LR rifling twist-at least it is what my CMMG Sierra upper uses.Seems 45ACP also uses that twist-9MM is using 1/10 more universally. Kinda weird that they use the same twist for real light bullets and very heavy bullets.

  16. What were you results in swapping the slides? Were you able to get the Brownells slide to function on your factory glock frame and vice versa? From what I have seen the vast majority of issues with these come from the guide rod channel not being cut deep enough. Do you have any pictures looking down the channel to see how deep you went?

  17. The 1:16 might generally be preferred for a bigger heavier bullet. Use whatever the barrel manufacturer recommends for the bullet you are going to use. If I’m not mistaken S&W uses 1:16 for the .40S&W and 1:10 for the 9MM, I think the 9MM use to be 1:18 and they changed it. If Storm Lake and Smith & Wesson disagree on which twist is more accurate on a Smith & Wesson; you have a decision to make. My opinion is that my M&P 40C is a belly gun and I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. But that opinion is worth exactly what you paid for it.

  19. You have good taste in quality leather holsters. I see one problem though. Quality leather holsters without a thumb break are useless for those of us that like to do back flips on the dance floor while we are out clubbing.
