As a former Police Officer I can assure you that unless you start making unreasonable demands; you will not be seen as “problem” for the Police. Do you not have any cops in your congregation? If so you might want to fill them in on what’s going on and let them handle it. If not, and the problem continues you can have an Officer come out and let them handle it however they think best. Keep in mind a couple of things though before you do that. Cops aren’t social workers like they have been in the past. If he hasn’t committed a crime there isn’t much they can do except maybe refer you to some agencies that can help you. If a crime is committed and there is probable cause to believe he did he; he will likely be thrown in jail. Jail is not a good path to help….ever. Sure you will here stories about that happening, but most of them are BS, the real ones are very rare. You would know better than anyone here if his actions indicate a possibility of violence. But it sounds like a good possibility your church or some of its members are about to be victims of property crimes. I guess what I’m trying to say is that as a former cop I believe the pastor and the elders of your church are in a far better place to deal with this problem than the Police. The Police can’t fix broken people, all they can usually do is break then some more. I feel there is more to the story if they have given up??2 points

Not necessarily all funny, but interesting. Seems he was pretty good with an umbrella... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digby_Tatham-Warter#Second_World_War Major Allison Digby Tatham-Warter DSO (21 May 1917 – 21 March 1993), also known as Digby Tatham-Warter or just Digby, was a British Armyofficer who fought in the Second World War. He was most known for carrying an umbrella into battle.[1] Excerpt A Company were dropped away from the target of Arnhem Bridge and had to go through Arnhem where the streets were blocked by German forces. Digby led his men through the back gardens of nearby houses instead of attempting to advance through the streets and thus avoided the Germans.[1] Digby and A Company managed to travel 8 miles in 7 hours while also taking prisoner 150 German soldiers including members of the SS. During the battle, Digby wore his red beret instead of a helmet and waved his umbrella while walking about the defences despite heavy mortar fire. When the Germans started using tanks to cross the bridge, Digby led a bayonet charge against them wearing a bowler hat. He later disabled a German armoured car with his umbrella, incapacitating the driver by shoving the umbrella through the car's observational slit and poking the driver in the eye.[1] Digby then noticed the chaplain pinned down by enemy fire while trying to cross the street to get to injured soldiers. Digby got to him and said "Don't worry about the bullets, I've got an umbrella". He then escorted the chaplain across the street under his umbrella. When he returned to the front line, one of his fellow officers said about his umbrella that "that thing won't do you any good", to which Digby replied "Oh my goodness Pat, but what if it rains?"[7] Digby was later injured by shrapnel, which also cut open the rear of his trousers but continued to fight until A Company had run out of ammunition. .... After the war ended, Digby served in British-controlled Mandatory Palestine before being appointed to the 5th King's African Rifles in British Kenya in 1946, where he also bought two estates in Eburru and Nanyuki.[1] During the Mau Mau Uprising, Digby raised a volunteer mounted police force at his own expense and led them into battle against the Mau Mau.[2] After that, he retired to run his estates. He also created the concept of the modern safari where animals would be photographed rather than hunted.[2] During Kenyan independence, it is reported that the British Defence staff told the British High Commissioner to "look after Tatham-Warter".[2]2 points

Picked up one of these S&W EZ 380s from Academy a while back for 329.00. This is the version without thumb safety. It does everything a .380 is supposed to but easier: 1) shoots fast to point of aim (recoil is negligible) 2)reliable 3) mags are the easiest center pistol mags I have ever loaded 4) You can rack the slide with two fingers. It is not as small as my Keltec P32 but it is so easy to grab and shoot. I can't begin to recall all the small handguns I have owned, including various ultra light revolvers. This thing beats them all in terms of ease of use. I am not getting younger. A review: https://dailycaller.com/2018/06/28/gun-test-sw-mp-380-shield-ez/1 point

You would be better off spending the slightly extra money and getting what right now is called the handgun carry permit and will be called next year the enhanced carry permit. You may end up with better reciprocity in other states and also be legal to carry in a couple more places, such as public hunting land.1 point

I considered RMR'ing my Rami P. Weakening eye sight coupled with a shorter sight radius. Proven by experienced users to gain faster acquisition and confidently engage at 50+ Cost crushed me. While I am one of the thrifty / budget club, I would only purchase a dot with a proven track record, by people I know. Those appear to be $450ish+ Plus milling and might as well add any desired 'smithing since you're that far rabbit hole. In my case, probably $1000 worth of stuff. Still on my radar, but I'm probably going over budget on my remodel, so not anytime soon.1 point

I don't think anyone wants to tell a business they can't post, but it is squarely on them to deal with their customers as they see fit. Nobody stopped Starbucks from kicking out those cops because one of their snowflakes felt unsafe now did it? If the cops, or in our case the customer, refuses to leave, then they can have him tresspassed. I've only been here for 19.5 years, as a supposed simpethetic 2A State, we certainly don't have the right law makers in place with anything bigger than BBs or they would have passed meaningfull 2A legislation by now. All the supposed pro 2A laws I've seen passed always comes with anti-gun loopholes.1 point

If the young mans parents have given up on him it sounds like he has been a handful before coming to the Church. There is only so much help you can give anyone that does not want to help themselves and it sounds like this is one of those cases. He was living with his parents and would not continue his rehabilitation which is an indication he does not want help, he wants a handout. I don't know if the church leaders have notified the proper authorities such as local police and discussed their problem maybe they should at least make them aware of the issue. The police may already have him on their radar but if they don't they need to..............JMHO1 point

Make a lot of our customers happy. I get a lot of, "Man, if it didn't have that silver slide..."1 point

As individuals and as a church do what you can but he must seek help before it will do him any good. Stay safe and alert.1 point

I have the Dou Tone G48 and it is not showing any wear from carry or cleaning. I believe the silver color is a better finish.1 point

I know you are right, beebee233, 100%, and this ole world just keeps getting...shall we say, curiouser and curiouser. This is off topic kinds but related. There was a time not that long ago, maybe 20-30 years, when one neednt to think this way. It was good enough that the shepherds thought that way and could protect the flock. Nowadays, the flock is ever so much more vulnerable as well as targeted for attack, both by common criminals/hoods/hard cases, but even more importantly, by those that are philosophically and diametrically opposed to the Christian way and American way of thinking. Terrorism has already come here, but it has not come here the way its come to other parts of the world, but mark my words, its coming and coming sooner than you think. Whats happening in Europe WILL happen here. Our open borders and passive 'refugee' immigration practices have actually encouraged it. And once they are here in large numbers, it'll be almost impossible to stop, without a massive infringement on our civil liberties that the constitution guarantees us.1 point

Thanks! I didn't know it was called a spindle. I'll take the part in today to get it repaired. I'm thinking of taking it to Coleman Tractor Company (the old McHenry tractor place) in Nashville this morning with the video of the axle. That part is $185 online. I doubt if I'll come out of this for less than $500. We'll see.1 point

Screw them. I'll renew when I'm supposed to. I ain't going out of my way because they move the goalposts.1 point

Well shoot. I just renewed my DL back in April. Its extremely rare for me to fly. Then again, if I was to decide to take a trip somewhere, I guess I'd have to get a new DL as part of the planning process. I don't have a passport either. I rarely go anywhere I can't drive to. I guess I'll deal with it when I have to. And all this because the feds have messed things up so bad that we now have to prove we're U.S. citizens. "Papers Please".1 point

If it cuts out illegals getting IDs then I am all for it. Personally it is not a big deal for me. I have to renew next year anyway.1 point

Chuck, don’t trust that guy in that video, he closes his eyes when he shoots and at 10:30 he calls a 2” group at 7 yards “almost one ragged hole”.0 points

I guess everyone knows that TSA is allowing illegal immigrants to fly without any ID. You only have to have ID to board a plane if you are a US citizen.0 points
