  1. That will never stand; even if a jury agrees (they will probably want to). It’s another political stunt. If it does stand, arrest and charge the people that don’t allow teachers to defend themselves and their students by banning guns in schools. No question that cost lives.

  2. I don't think it'll stand. The Supreme Court ruled quite some time ago that law enforcement has no duty to protect you. We'll see.

  3. QFT A quality weapon should be flawless right out of the box. I’ve only had to send one back for failures and it was a Shield. I had good ammo and I wasn’t going to play the “maybe it’s the magazine” game. They fixed it quickly and sent it back; no more failures. The only manufacturer I have seen that requires a break-in period is Kahr. They recommend 200 rounds. Like Mac said, to me that is for me to familiarize myself with the gun, sight it in, and be confident it is a quality product; not for me to finish their deburr and quality inspection for them. Any manufacturer can have a bad product get out; some more than others. But lets be fair. You have to have a clean gun, quality ammo, and be using it properly. If it’s a carry gun or a home defense gun; your life or the lives of your family could depend on the quality of the gun and the ammo you choose. Not a good time to be swapping mags, banging, bending, dremeling or bubbaing a gun to get it to be reliable.

  4. Ever since i saw the movie No country for old men, i wanted a suppressed shotgun. I started off with a factory Rem 870 express and had Sterling Arsenal Works do the barrel chop, choke adapter threading and Vang Comp sight system upgrades. They cerakoted it and did a little custom bolt fluting. Its a blast to shoot with the Salvo 12 and really helps manage the recoil/kick. Not as fun to shoot without the silencer on a 12" barrel (left bruises on my shoulder). Anyways, here a little video of the shotty YouTube Video

  6. The "tactical advantage" the guy in VA Beach had was that he was armed and the victims were not. The suppressor (if it really was a suppressor) was irrelevant. And he was killed by the responding officers so we have incontrovertible proof once again that ARMED good guys are what stops armed bad guys.

  7. Trump didn’t ban bump stocks or make them illegal. They were illegal the first day they were invented. You think just because some dumb azz sitting in an ATF office decides a bump stock is legal everything is okay? He was an idiot and it clearly violated the intent of the law. “Amend the rules as they see fit” you have to be kidding me; that is exactly what happened to make them available. Sure, lets have the ATF decide what’s legal and have no recourse. We’ll see how that works. “It wasn't until Trump decided he wanted them gone that the the DOJ suddenly decided they were out.” More . A guy climbed up in a building and cut loose with automatic weapon fire killing 58 people and wounding 422. That is why they are gone; had nothing to do with Trump.

  9. 6 cherry tomato plants? I like them too, but that's gonna be a LOT of maters. They freeze pretty well and make good sauces. We didn't plant a cherry tomato last year, but the birds planted one for us in the flower bed. We've got one plant this year. Speaking of volunteers... we've got a couple tomatoes and a vine that's either a watermelon or cantaloupe. I thought it was a zucchini so I let it grow, but now it's got 6ft runners so we'll see what it produces. And yes, you've still got plenty of time to plant most any typical summer crop and get a good yeild.

  10. My kids can eat cherry tomatoes like they're candy. We generally put three plants out - and they consume all of them as soon as they come off the plant.

  11. Zero malfunctions is normal. The reason we run a bunch of rounds through a gun is so that we have confidence in them - and our ability with them. I'd argue that once you've had the failures, you probably know all you need to know about that particular weapon. You might smooth it out and run hundreds of rounds through it flawlessly. But you'll still have that question in the back of your head. You can talk yourself into it - but why?

  13. Remember it well. All over the news that day. People running. People looking like they were cheering him on at some points. Sad that it came to such an end. Perhaps this says too much about me and my thinking, but I empathasize with Mr. Heemeyer's actions. Sometimes you can be pushed just so far when supposedly rational men and actions go against everything you believe is right and moral.

  16. Wow! I can’t believe it’s been 15 years. That was a man with a grudge. I could surely sympathize with him, but the reasonable side of me thinks he’d have been better off spending his money on competent legal counsel.

  17. Didn't seem to stop him from banning bump stocks. I seriously doubt he will listen to anyone on suppressors. He's going to do whatever he wants and we'll all stand by and watch it happen.

  19. Ha, Ha, Ha, I also carried a revolver on duty. I only had 12 extra rounds in two speed loaders and felt comfortable. Even though in the Academy they spent a couple of hours on the Newhall Incident that happened years before in 1970. I’m not OCD about carrying a gun. I’ll generally carry a Shield a J-frame or a K-frame on me. My reload plan is a New York reload. I keep a full size M&P near me and an extra mag with it. However, I figure now being a citizen, if I get into something 15 rounds of .40S&W can’t get me out of; I’m in big trouble anyway. But it could happen. I feel someone getting the drop on me is far more likely than me needing a bunch of rounds of ammo. I know what you mean about unreasonable phobias though. Mine is wasps. I can honestly say I would rather go on a man with a gun call than deal with wasps.

  20. Well that didn’t take long. The anti’s have a new focus. I really don’t use them because the cost is freaking ridiculous due to them being illegal. I refuse to pay $1000 for a $100 item. That cost would fall like a rock if they were legal. I suspect that may now be on hold. Maybe Trump with comment further after he talks with Jr. "This killer planned it and had a distinct advantage with a silencer." @NBCNews law enforcement expert Jim Cavanaugh on the Virginia Beach shooting suspect. Democrat presidential candidate Seth Moulton suggests American’s freedoms should be limited based on need: “We should not have suppressors, you don’t need a suppressor, I mean that’s, that’s something like, you know, assassins need to use” The shooter who killed 12 people in a government office building in Virginia Beach used a firearm equipped with a suppressor that muffles the sound of gunfire. It’s the nightmare scenario that gun-control advocates have warned about amid efforts in recent years to ease restrictions on the devices, which they say can help shooters escape detection and inflict more carnage. NRA's shameless new grift: Pushing silencers like the one the Virginia Beach shooter used. After Virginia Beach, NRA rushes to tell the world silencers are safe — because its only goal is to boost sales. Donald Trump Jr. even made a video back in September 2016 in which he fired a silencer-equipped automatic pistol such as was used to such devastating effect in Virginia on Friday.

  21. Yeah, the HPA is dead as a doornail. We might think it died when the Dems took the house but that’s not true. It was never really alive in the first place.

  22. Defender, For me the extended mags on the P365 or the 15-round mags with X-grips on the Glock 26 is more about ergonomics of fitting my hand comfortably allowing me to fire accurately than having a few more rounds in the magazines. I do admit I carry a spare mag for any pistol I carry. amendment2customcoating, Thanks for posting about the P365XL. I hadn't seen that yet. Although I'd probably love the grip on it, I don't think I want the longer barrel/slide. I like the feel of the P365 as it is currently.

  25. Heck the volunteer cherry tomatoes (tommy toes) I had come up for several years each produced at least a Wal-Mart sized bag full. I had 3-4 plants each year bunched ariund an old stump.

  27. I am waiting to see how much I like the 3-Gun Competition. If I do like it, I may eventually upgrade from my "Baby Mossberg". My BF and I went to the range yesterday with my side-by-side 12 gauge, his Mossberg Maverick 88 12 gauge, and my youth 20 gauge Mossberg 505. We wanted to do comparisons with the guns and ammo we had and I needed to work on my "speed loading" skills, lol. After that comparison, I think I know why I have never really been a shotgun person. the 12 gauges, especially the side-by-side beat me up and made me swear. I was happy to get back to my 20 gauge! I kind-a like it! I think I am going to sell my side-by-side.
