  1. When you've been friends since 1985, it gets harder to find unique gifts for your best friend. Last year, I sent him a Cold Steel Smatchet, a bit of a gag, but he has a mini horse farm, so he could conceivably use it for something. Then I saw GT's Feather Knives and had to get him one. Waaaay better in person! I'm not a knife guy, but here are my immediate impressions - balanced in my hand, finger guard is just right, substantial with out being heavy. Aesthetically, it's fabulous. Hard to describe, but almost as if the feather was dipped in steel and the maker was able to pull out the detail. The light colored handle with green inserts as well as lining the tang is really cool. GT also included the display stand as well as kydex shealth with leather backing and belt loop. It's off to Missouri...

  2. I always like to recommend Tower of Power. Their horn line is amazing. Speaking of which, BST, Go down Gamblin', most incredible tuba solo in the history of rock music, ever. Turn up your volume

  3. That nitrided 416-R stainless steel is going to be fun to dimple. If you have access to a drill press, chock an end mill cutter of the appropriate size into it and use that to spot-face the dimples to get through the hardened layer. You'll eat up a bunch of regular drill bits otherwise.

  5. I got listen to the owner of The Shoot Point Blank chain speak at an NRA event a year or so ago. It is not a small LGS shop, but to me, Shoot Point Blank is the brainchild of a man and really, the good old fashioned American dream. He observed the down-side of other ranges, studied why they went out of business, came up with a formula based on a lot of research cost/time/location/legal and seems to be one of the few successful range "chains" in existence. He knows how important family-friendly is with regards to the 2nd Amendment in general, plain and simple, the 2nd Amendment needs new and more supporters. Don't feel bad about having a membership there. The owner is "all in" and this chain is not a franchise at this time.
