  1. I bought the Tx22. Have gone to the range three times now. Each with 500 round of CCI Blazer; so total 1500 rounds thus far. Only had 5 FTF. Primer strike occurred each time. That is 22 LR ammo. Very fun to shoot. 500 rounds goes by really fast. Extremely happy with the pistol. Feels great in my smaller hands. It came with 2 mags; bought 4 more from Taurus. Great plinker or practice pistol. So much cheaper than practicing all the time with 9mm. Will eventually introduce my daughters to it. Ideal for new, younger shooters.

  2. It happens too often. Part of the problem is that some Police Chiefs are hesitant to come right out and tell the public that if someone points anything at them in a threatening manner, especially someone fleeing, it will be assumed it is a deadly weapon and they will be shot and probably killed. However, this guy was old enough that he knew that. He also probably knew it wasn’t going to back the cops off. So obviously he either wanted to die, or he was so high he was out of his mind. If it was the former; he got his wish. Of course in Nashville the DA will take a cop to trial after a he kills a perp that is fleeing, and has pointed a real gun at him. So I guess it depends on where you are. No, I’m just being facetious. It doesn’t matter where you are; they will still shoot you in Nashville if you point a gun at them. The entire Metro PD should have walked off the job.

  3. My buddy and podcast co-host, Mark, got his TX22 this week and loves it. He's not quick to heap undeserved praise on a gun, so this is a very strong endorsement from a guy who works in the industry and handles more different guns in a week than a lot of folks will see in several months.

  4. That nitrided 416-R stainless steel is going to be fun to dimple. If you have access to a drill press, chock an end mill cutter of the appropriate size into it and use that to spot-face the dimples to get through the hardened layer. You'll eat up a bunch of regular drill bits otherwise.

  5. Not only are the hands of LEO’s and Mental Health sometimes tied, but with OOP, RO’s and the Red Flag laws; victims that won’t deal with problems because the aggressor is their main income (that’s a legitimate issue for many, I have no answer for that), and people that lie. As far as the people that lie; my feelings have always been that the accused is a willful participant in that scenario. Maybe not the first time; but any time after that. It would be great if any of us could find a fix for any of this; but short of finding a way to make people get along; I don’t see it happening. That’s why I am so adamant and have no tolerance for those that threaten violence towards anyone; especially with a weapon (gun, knife, car, baseball bat, etc.) or threatening a mass shooting. If that is proven; lock them up until the courts deem them no longer a threat. My GAS meter sits at zero for them.

  6. I agree with you on restraining orders. I can’t count the number of times I have been ask “If I get a restraining order, he can’t come around me, and the cops will protect me if he does”. I’ve explained to them that the Police can’t protect them, all they can do is arrest him if he comes around. But even that isn’t true in many places anymore. I’ve seen on some of the cop shows where they tell people that if they find the offender, they will issue him a citation to appear in court and the Judge will decide. That’s just wrong and needs to change. If someone violates a RO or OOP; they need to be found, cuffed and stuffed, booked into jail, and then taken before a judge. But what else can you do? You can only help for a short period of time and then the victims or the family have to make changes. As far as the kids go, the school district failed to keep them safe. I understand that is hard to do when someone that is not afraid to die decides to commit a crime. But its only right that all mental health resources be made available to them. Talking amongst themselves is also fine; if that’s what they need to do. I would also bet that there are people who have been in school shooting that make themselves available to talk to these victims; but that’s just a guess. I’ve seen mental health professionals not be able to help because their hands were tied, and I’ve seen them save lives. I’m sure it’s like anything else; person by person and case by case.

  9. Yeah, I think ya had to be there. I wanst and Im not justifying the officers actions, but I am saying that I have no earthly idea why anyone would want to be a LEO these days. They simply cant win, because of the Monday morning quarterbacking from the media, the politicians and their own chain of command concerned about optics over right and wrong.

  10. Even if the technology became practical, who would be stupid enough to buy one?

  11. Wow, that was a lot of shooting. So a guy high on meth, that was threatening his family with a gun and knife, points a gun at responding Officers (We assume because of what they say, but we don’t see it), then he flees. Multiple shots are fired at the suspect. That would have been a good time for him to stop, but something must have been wrong with his vehicle because he continued to flee. Even after apparently having been hit, the suspect points the gun at the Officers. (According to what they say; because we can’t see it) The vehicle finally stops, apparently after the driver is shot in the head. The suspect opens the truck door. Did he display a weapon? We can’t tell, but Officers start shooting again. Ultimately the guy quits moving and the Officers quit shooting. As best we know, no innocent citizens or animals were harmed in the making of this video. The Deputy Dist. Atty. concluded that that all of the available evidence is insufficient to warrant the filing of criminal charges against the two officers. But would like to add he was alarmed by the Officers conduct. The Anaheim Police Chief terminated the probationary employee, has the other Officer on administrative leave, and wants you all to know he finds the video “disturbing” and “difficult” to watch. Five witnesses told investigators they believed Nava had a handgun, and two of them said he shot three rounds, the report stated. Pedersen was determined to have fired his weapon 64 times; Staymates, meanwhile, fired 12 shots with his rifle. The Orange County district attorney’s office concluded in its investigation that a jury would “justly” conclude it was reasonable for the officers to think their lives and those of others were in danger during the incident. If an innocent had been hit or killed would these cops have problems; you bet. Good thing that didn’t happen. Should shooting at a moving vehicle be banned by department policy? Think about all the possible scenarios and you tell me. Full disclosure: This comes from someone that violated Department policy to keep from having to kill someone. Both of us lived; one of us would not had I followed policy. The policy was changed. However, Department Policy is not the law. Armchair quarter backing sure is interesting though isn’t it?

  12. With all due respect; I disagree. These kids need all the help they can get, and they are owed it. Pick yourself up and dust yourself off is probably one of the reasons 6,000 vets commit suicide a year.

  13. I'm proud of these kids that walked out of the Political forum that the politicians were putting on. The politicians and their groups and the Press never pass up an opportunity to use something like they to apply to their agenda and these kids didn't allow them their ability to do it. The News medias and politician groups don't give young people enough credit where credit is due. Kids are much more resilient than the New medias and groups line Brady Campaign give them credit for. Well the kids showed oth of them last night that they don't need either to heal their wounds, pick themselves up and continue to move forward. I don't think these kids need a bunch of counselors trying to get inside their heads either. If everyone will just allow them to be themselves and talk with each other they will get through this with each one helping each other. I'm quite sure they are going to heal much faster talking amongst themselves and being around their friends. I know I would much rather talk to a close friend I grew up with then some book worm counselor that does not even know their name.........JMHO

  15. Can't and won't disagree with your premise, but without a very large supply of maps; finding places that aren't on major roadways, and in neighborhoods can be frighteningly difficult without something like a Garmin or Maps app on a smartphone. Do I believe this dependence on this and other forms of technology is causing a lack of learning to think and solve problems without "Skynet's assistance" lol, is destroying our lives? You bet your John Connor t-shirt I do.

  16. Apparently y'all have no appreciation for the classics. How sad for you. I happen to be quite fond of the Walther PP series pistols. They're still around after almost 90 years for a simple reason. They work.

  17. This is one wild ride. My guess is that Anaheim PD will probably be changing their rules about engaging from a moving vehicle. https://www.officer.com/on-the-street/body-cameras/news/21079810/video-shows-anaheim-police-officers-fire-76-shots-during-highspeed-pursuit?utm_source=Officer.com+Newsday+E-Newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=CPS190509012&o_eid=5113J4674090I4J&rdx.ident[pull]=omeda|5113J4674090I4J&oly_enc_id=5113J4674090I4J

  18. We need like an Executive Order telling cops - “No shooting from a moving vehicle. I don’t care how cool Starsky & Hutch looked.”
