  1. Because complicating things is what the TN legislature does when it comes to permits.

  2. Hold on now, its a little early to start hollering theft and such. Yes, people are pissed and I don't blame them. But it will take a bit of time to sort everything out. Legalities ya know. Over the years I've spoken to and dealt with Scott a number of times. He always seemed like a really nice, stand up kinda guy to me. I'm sure he's in a world of crap if he had to close the doors. The truth is we have no idea what's going on with him. So let's not jump to any conclusions. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. I'm sure guns will be returned to their owners. Membership fees are likely just gone. If they're bankrupt, how can they pay? I'm sure that there's probably something in the contract about fees being non-refundable. I truly do feel sorry for those folks, but life ain't fair. deal with it. Also remember that the news media is not our friend. So of course they're gonna push angry customers, rumors, legal questions etc. and smile the whole time. They're probably loving this.

  4. I guess it is different for me, not having to pay for TICS, but I tend to go to Buds when they have them on sale and grab them at the ~$50 range by the handful. I have several full builds and quite a few lowers still laying around that I don't know what to do with.

  5. Hi! I am not totally new, I have been a member as a “civilian”, lol. I cannot find a post where I introduced my business, although I did post a few events a couple of months back. So, here goes! I join you as a new business owner! AK Virtual Arms Training LLC opened its doors to the public March 1, 2019. We take firearms safety training into entertaining new directions with the realistic firearms simulator. Although we teach the usual TN Permit Class type stuff, we stretch out into interesting new directions like virtual firearms competitions, 2A parties, youth training and bucket list scenarios! We are technical people and we create our own scenarios from scratch. We can do that for you or your business too! Here is the website. Visit the videos page if you have never seen a firearms simulator before. Sincerely, Andrea, Owner https://AKvat.com

  7. You're the first person I've heard of having one in the wild. I meant to get by their booth at NRAAM but didn't make it over there for some reason. This and the Rex Delta seem kind of like similar takes on the Glock 19, coming at it from different angles.

  8. My experience has been that if a local shop has Spikes Tactical lowers in stock for $100 I just grab them. Not only am I supporting a local gun shop, it works out about the same money as an online order without the wait. Most transfers I’ve done were $15 or $20 plus background check. But those prices are hard to find nowadays. Here in my area anyway. If you get a lower that you’re not tickled with for $59 or $69 and then get charged shipping (some do, some don’t), then add $25-50 transfer fee, the it’s worth it to me to buy and walk out with a lower I like more. The flip side to that is you’re limited to what the store has in stock unless they will order something. Then you’re back to the wait time for shipping but won’t have the transfer fee on top of it. Hope that helps and makes sense.

  9. I may be missing something but after the amendments were put in there I I can't see why they bothered passing this bill.

  10. So... what happens to existing HCP holders, especially Lifetime HCP holders? I dare say there's no mechanism or equation that's been thought out.

  11. We would like to be leaders in technology innovation for civilian firearms training. I have built scenarios that are designed to exercise your eyes, or that develop point shooting skills and even a quick draw gunfight with Yosemite Sam where you can build your speed to first shot using the simulated shot timer and score keeper!

  12. At 21 I probably should not have had access to a car let alone be carrying a gun. I remember exceeding 85mph on curvy 2 lane 30mph roads. A stunt like that and then having a gun in the car could have spelled lots of trouble for me. Young and stupid... I tend to teach my kids to err on the side of caution. Just because it is completely legal does not mean it is a good idea. Hard to argue your rights when you are face down and bleeding on the pavement. LEOs are only human and some just want to make sure they can go home to their family tonight. Sometimes they have to make a split second decision based on little info.

  13. Exactly It doesn’t appear to be clear. If it is clear, what makes you think they couldn’t have it on their person? If you feel the need to put it in a locked container either; don't take it or put it in the trunk. Because at that point the law (carry in a car) we are discussing no longer applies.

  16. Sorry for the delay in responding. The trigger on mine is good. Since it's 80% of a 10/22 trigger, it shouldn't be hard to modify if necessary to clean up or lighten the trigger pull.

  18. Even the major players here in middle Tennessee have had a tough time making a go of it. The gun business is hard. You’re a brick and mortar showroom for people to go handle stuff that they’re then going to buy online. Inventory cost is high. Margins are low. Zoning restrictions abound. Someone walks into your range and shoots themself. It’s hard to do well. There ought to be a “basic gun store finance” class for anyone looking to open a shop. It ought to go into the horror stories in detail - because they happen more often than they don’t. I’ve seen more retirement accounts cleaned out than I care to think about. Even the big boys have looked at hemorrhaging bank accounts and tried to enter mergers to stop the losses. We need good shops. We need to support good shops. It’s a shame that there are so many bad ones.

  19. Minimal training for new CCP applicants bills just passed; nice but Id rather see them do more than hit a target at 25 feet: Self-defense legislation House Bill 1264 /Senate Bill 705 have now officially passed both chambers of the Tennessee General Assembly. This legislation will soon be sent to the desk of Governor Bill Lee for his signature. The NRA thanks Rep. Andy Holt and Sen. John Stevens for their leadership and commitment to preserving and protecting your rights in Tennessee’s. Senate Bill 705 /House Bill 1264, sponsored by Senator John Stevens and Representative Andy Holt, would create a new concealed carry permit in Tennessee that would make it more accessible for Tennesseans to exercise their right to self-defense. The new permit will allow for concealed carry only and will not apply to higher education campuses. Further, the training required in the bill can be a hunter education course or firearm safety course, and can be taken online. By creating a new concealed carry permit, Tennesseans are able to choose which permit option is best for them and their lifestyle in order to exercise their constitutional right to self-defense.

  20. RUSA was cheaper but less quality. SPB is top quality and you pay for it. So Tom Givens still runs it?
