My younger son and I visited this store today for the first time. What I found there were two of the most helpful, kindest, and friendliest guys I've met in years. This, in addition to the really cool and valuable guitars I got to see there made it a great experience. Just a heads up for TGOers. If you need your axe worked on, or if you'd like to purchase a top shelf instrument, this is the best place I can imagine to start your quest. The education I received there alone was worth more than the money I spent.......and they may or may not have sent us home with a Les Paul.2 points

I hadn't thought of that. It fits the bill perfectly! https://www.browning.com/products/firearms/shotguns/bps.html2 points

If I was in the need for .30 Carbine right now I would seriously consider the Fiocchi at $14.95/box (case price) from SGAMMO.2 points

If you can live with .22lr instead of mag, watch for a Stevens Model .22-.410. It is the model that turned into the Savage 24. Little less folowing than the 24. Post-war stocks are Tenite, but the one I have feels nice. Pre-war is wood, but they are kind a rare to be around in any decent shape...and be for sale. I am still on the hunt for a .357 mag/ 20 or 12ga I can afford. I agree the new model (model 42) is uuuuuggggllllyyyyy! Only comes in 22lr and .22mag over .410 I think too.2 points

I have actually, yes. The .22 barrel was pleasantly accurate at 50yds with CCI mini mags, however the shotgun barrel threw a pattern at 25yds you could moonwalk through. Triggers were good, action was 'break over my knee' stiff. It wasn't my gun & it kinda put me off making one mine. 2½/5 stars. I only tried it because I ALWAYS wanted a Savage 24 for small game in .22mag/20ga & the new plastic version is just...eew. Like........eew.2 points

A couple of weeks ago, I got my brand new S&W 442 out of lay-a-way at Harvey's here in Knoxville. Been looking around for a new holster for it. I ended up picking DeSantis Sof-Tuck IWB #106. I got it today from Academy Sports and have been carrying all afternoon. This is my first foray with a IWB holster. I'm pretty impressed do far with the concealablity and comfort! One thing I'm not impressed with though is the durability of the finish on this pistol. It's already picked a couple of scratches. For a Smith, I would have expected a more scratch resistant finish. So far that's the only thing I don't like about this little revolver.1 point

Paging @mikegideon and his Quickload license... Or @RED333 or @leroy - they’ve probably loaded more .44 mag than most of us will ever shoot.1 point

Grabbed my Ruger 10/22 out of the safe yesterday and gave it a quick little break up pattern. Funny thing is my Mom bought a bunch of spray paint on clearance for 10 cents a can last year some time and asked me if I could use it. I wasn’t sure what I’d do with it but I’m sure glad she picked it up. It’s called Woodland Stone and worked perfect for this pattern.1 point

Sometimes we overlook the ugliness of this day as it is over shadowed by the joy, hope, and promise of Easter. The glory of the resurrected Christ is due to his suffering and death on the cross today. Jesus says somewhere in the Bible, "there is no greater love than to die for ones friends." Thank you for loving me that much.1 point

Intermittent crank no start on a 4.0 Jeep... Crank shaft position sensor. I have been in the auto service industry my entire life, ASE Master certified with L1 for over a decade. Now, Obviously Internet diag is impossible, and I wont promise you that is the fix... But it is very much an educated guess.1 point

There's no incintive for a mechanic to fix parts today. They're pushed to flip cars as fast as possible and to replace parts that might not have needed it because of how the business is structured...1 point

Their website states 25 in/lbs in FAQ area and on the torque tool that they sell is set to break at 25 in/lbs too. Not sure if that helps?1 point

From a Savage Model 24 owner..I take offense to that. Lol Despite the crappy lighting, I think my Model.24 is quite nice. Of course it is a .30-30 over 20ga. I find that more versitile than the .22/.410 models. Just like the Hatfield shotguns, I am not sure I am keen on a folding gun. I think these are Italian and the Hatfield is Turkish though.1 point

Update.... Pulled the ignition switch, plastic box on left side of steering column opposite of ignition key. I jumped two random holes in the harness I disconnected and it cranked! Thinking its that plastic box ignition switch wore out or the the keyed part of the ignition not activating the switch properly. The keyed part has a shaft and plactic pin the turns and pushes where it fits into the ignition switch. Ignition switch is a $30 part. Ill try that first......Actually 2nd as I replaced neutral safety switch already. Reminds me of my Army parts changer days... Seems like sometimes we kept changing parts till it fixed the problem. Uncle Sam has deep pockets though.1 point

To bring this down a level, I was going through the mail at church on Wednesday evening and there was a flier for the Ark/Creation Museum in the stack. Greg, there weren't any coupons - or I would have saved them for you Rather they were advertising for group tours at Christmas. Now, mind you, I come from a conservative tradition - church of Christ. While my practice has changed somewhat from that of my ancestors - I still worship in that tradition, and the faith of my family before me has been absolutely formative in my faith. As such - I did not have a bucket to put this flier in, as the things it was advertising simply wouldn't have mixed in the conservative tradition of my upbringing. I give you, Christmas Village at the Ark Encounter: Christmas trees, zip lines, ice skating, and a wonderland of lights. My ancestors may have lost their minds over something like this. I'll admit that I don't quite have a bucket to put this in - but find myself a little less than comfortable with this whole "commercialization of Christmas" sort of thing from a group that I would have thought more conservative than me. But, if you see the above - and you're like "heck yeah, that's better than going to see the lights at Opryland for the eighth year in a row," here's a link: https://arkencounter.com/christmas/ It's even free after 5:00.1 point

I think that one would be overwhelmed with their situation to where they wouldn't even ask those kind of questions. He does promise that He has things in store for us that we can't even imagine. God does say that, to paraphrase, we must have a child-like faith. Children accept what they are told by their parents. I've thought that the science versus God argument was irrelevant. Science tries to explain reality whereas God defines it.1 point

Off topic - but if you ever get the chance to parse through the mail that comes to your church, you should. Truthfully, I regard the above flyer as “senior ministry is hard and it’s something not many feel called to do. If they like Branson, they’ll like this” But, some of the mailers that come through are truly bizarre.0 points
