  1. I was going through some old pics on my PC. I was actually looking for the Rabbit hunting I used to do but I must have got rid of all the photos. Anyhoo, I thought some of you may be interested in a small trip down memory lane! Ferrets were used for Rabbiting! The Landrover was my shooting wagon, there was literally nowhere where that could go, and my personal best Carp, 34lb Mirror Carp!

  2. Not sure what action I would have taken had he pointed a gun at me, but if my wife was also involved as the story indicated, someone would have left on a stretcher.

  3. Were they the same price and I wasn't already so familiar with the one, I'd likely buy the 2. They do have better sights and a better trigger, but not $100 better in my opinion. Many would disagree, however. I feel the original LCP is as close to a perfect pocket pistol as I've found.

  4. Well look at the bright side. You now have something to do on all these rainy days we're having.

  5. There are some seriously crazy people out there. While I can appreciate the anger the gentleman must have felt, confronting a crazy asshat known to have a gun just isn't the smartest move. That's a slippery slope towards "mutual combat". Just call the police and file the compliant. If you have to fight for your life that's one thing, if you can disengage just do it. My preference is being deselected as a target in the first place. Not saying the guy can't wear what he wants. I don't care if he puts daisies in his hair. I'd just rather stay a bit more gray... Avoidance-Deterrence- and De-escalation is still good advice. I hope this idiot gets solid jail time. The left will use his being an HCP holder against us, the law abiding gun carriers, and conveniently avoid the actual facts.

  6. The target is blurred though, or was so I ended up moving the red dot about an inch foward and now I’m good. The are 3 zones in my glasses so I had to make adjustments accordianly!

  7. This. I wear progressive lenses and do not have any problems.

  9. Crazy liberals are starting to arm themselves and they're a thousand times more dangerous than we ever thought about being.

  10. Red dots are a target overlay sight usually the focus is target based so I would say you want it to appear in the "distance focus" segment of your progressive,.. I have the opposite problem I am still trying to use Iron Sights and as long a I remember to change out to non Rx glasses I am ok if I forget I get Misses and NoShoots at the local USPSA match after about 12-15 yds.

  11. Thanks for the explanation shaggy. I see better with medium to longer eye relief on my RDS sights. I'm still looking through them but feel less "crowded" at that distance They tend to be set about the same distance as my RMR at extension, as a point of reference, since "medium to longer" is kinda subjective LOL. What RDS are you running?

  13. That Moron needs to go in prison. Kudos to the guy for standing up to that idiot. Although it was kind of stupid; he could have been shot.

  15. Read it again. If the vehicle is locked then it's not a problem. Firearms and Ammunition - As introduced, creates a Class A misdemeanor of leaving a firearm or firearm ammunition unattended or with a person under 18 years of age in a motor vehicle or boat, if the firearm is not locked in a trunk, glove box, or interior of the person's motor vehicle or boat.

  16. I have friends in upstate New York who feel the same way. Some beautiful land they live on but unfortunately their area isn't represented by the beliefs of people in the area. As my friend says, that one big blob of people has ruined our entire state.

  17. For my 2 cents, definitely stay with the LCP 1. It is a carry gun and chances are your shooter distance will be 3 yards or less. Does the “2” have improvements, yes. Necessary, no. As far as inexpensive guns; still a SCCY fan. Good article in the USCCA mag this month.

  18. I don't think I fully comprehend the question @ShaggyRS6 Would you please elaborate a bit? I too keep both eyes open when shooting a Red Dot sighted gun...looking through it as @Capbyrdmentions.

  20. You will love it down here. It will take a while to get use to all the freedom but it is great. I made the move about 4 years ago. First gun shop I stopped in, even before we had officially moved, asked where I was from and when I told him he said welcome to America. So I pass it on to you for when you get moved.

  21. Since we are on 380s, will do a slight hijack. Had 3 people shoot the 380 EZ in a class yesterday. Seem to be a right nice gun with good size, accuracy, and ease of use.

  22. So if left in my LOCKED vehicle is my vehicle not just a big locked case? What's the use of another locked "something". Hammers, saws and torches can make short order of just about anything. I am so tired of everything being my fault for obeying laws and doing what is right. How about we get back to placing blame where blame is due. Let's quit voting in idiots to run our city's, states and countries. If elected officials go against what they said in campaigns then let's recall their ass. Enough of this crap is enough. Get involved. Be noisy. Be heard.

  23. Welcome to TGO and TN. Just be sure and don't let any of those crap laws catch a ride with you. We already have idiots trying to pass new laws as it is.

  24. I don't think there can be a law written that will prevent criminals from getting guns. When laws are written and passed the only people that they effect are the people that legally own a gun and abide by all the laws written and passed. We all hear about many times a good guy with a gun stops a bad guy with a gun from doing a lot more killing then they would had the good guy not been there and reacted accordingly to stop the bad guy. Everytime this takes place the police call the man a hero for stepping in and stopping the bad guy. Those are the kind of stories the liberals don't want people to hear about because it goes against every one of their agendas. According to the Liberals there are no good guys with guns. If they had their way every gun owner would be a criminal and that is their real goal...........JMHO

  25. I also purchased one of the first LCPs at Specialty Arms and paid too much, especially since I see them almost daily at PSA for $169.00. Having said that, it has been completely reliable for hundreds of rounds and works great as a pocket gun in summer with shorts and a tee shirt.

  26. Mine looks like an ancient sewer pipe. I'm suddenly interested in them now for some reason though. I'll be looking for another if this one won't shoot decent.

  27. You got to give them a pass on that one, they are silencers. Maxim named them that, there was/is a push to change it because they don't really silence the report, just suppress it.

  28. You may want to discuss these with your local State Rep and State Senator as you believe appropriate. February 15, 2019 Pending Bill Report. Please understand and note that some of the bills, like SB95/HB41, have already been amended to delete the entire body of the original bill and substitute entirely new language. This is a common practice, sometimes deceiving, as bills are filed to suggest one purpose and then amended to do something entirely different (as was the case a few years ago with a bill that originally would have held property owners that "post" liable for injuries occurring on their gun free zones but was amended to grant immunity to property owners who don't post). Therefore, it is important to read the text of the bills and not just these captions. You can look up the bills based on the HBxxxx or SBxxxx numbers on the Legislative website. If you are aware of a bill that you think TFA should be tracking but its not on the list, please let us know. There are a few bills of special note. SB446/HB187 by Sen. Mike Bell and Rep. Jay Reedy. This is a bill that TFA strongly supports. It prohibits local governments from discriminating against individuals and entities that promote 2nd Amendment issues, gun shows, outdoor shows, hunting events, with respect to the rental of publicly available facilities such as meeting rooms or venues at fairgrounds, parks, and public buildings. This is a high priority bill. SB1275/HB409 by Sen. Bell and Rep. Griffey. This bill would impose specific duties on law enforcement and district attorneys to investigate whether a civilian use of force was credibly self defense (many other states like Florida already require this). It also prohibits civil claims until the criminal case, if any is over, and provides civil immunity if it is determined that the use of force was self defense. This is a high priority bill. SB594/HB712 by Sen. Roberts and Rep. Faison. This is a technical bill to eliminate multiple inconsistent definitions of a firearm in Tennessee statutes by adopting the same definition of a firearm as contained in the 1968 Gun Control Act. SB705/HB1264 by Sen. Stevens and Rep. Holt. This is a curious bill because various House leaders including Casada and Lamberth are co-sponsors already. The bill would create a 2nd type of permit in Tennessee - a concealed weapons only permit and would reclassify the existing permits as "enhanced permits". The proposed "concealed permit" would under the bill's initial language be issued by the Department of Safety with no fee charged. It would also not require the completion of the Department of Safety's handgun training program but would accept training such as third party courses including hunter safety courses. The bill could potentially be amended to be constitutional carry if enough pressure was applied and amendments were made to strip out certain provisions and add others. The bill should be carefully assessed. SB943/HB1049 by Sen. Kyle and Rep. Johnson would enact the "Families Know First Act" which is a "Red Flag" law that provides a means for "extreme risk protection orders" and should be defeated. Tennessee already has laws on involuntary committals and dealing with people who pose an imminent risk of harm to themselves or others as a result of mental or emotional problems. This bill is just a "weapons grab" like most Red Flag laws. SB1178/HB1446 by Sen. Dickerson and Rep. Deberry. This is the expected "Red Flag" bill from Sen. Dickerson and should be defeated. SB1312/HB1476 by Sen. Kyle and Rep. Hardaway - another bill to hold people liable if guns are not unloaded and securely stored even if no one is harmed. Diverts funds to the domestic violence fund. SB258/HB260 - this is a rewrite of the previously defeated bill by Sen. Kyle (D.) to hold parents and adults liable if their guns are not securely stored, even locked and unloaded, and as a result someone is injured. This is a dangerous bill that sets a dangerous precedent and should be defeated. There is a similar bill under SB813/HB801 which pertains to leaving a firearm unattended in a car if there are minors in the car. SB403/HB167 - this bill does various things under a broad caption that makes it a dangerous bill for purposes of amendments. It covers everything from minimum sentences for firearms thefts, to carrying weapons and drugs into prisons, to reinstating drivers licenses for habitual offenders. This bill should be carefully watched and defeated in its current form. SB1010/HB1427 by Sen. Gilmore and Rep. Stewart - this bill would eliminate the "casual sale exception" and require that all gun transfers, even between individuals, be conducted through FFLs. SB1402/HB754 by Sen. Bell and Rep. Smith. This bill would create long term firearms prohibitions for those individuals who have been evaluated for involuntary committals but instead voluntarily agree to inpatient treatment. This bill could discourage people from getting evaluations and voluntarily agreeing to be assessed or treated. It is important that you read and study these bills that may be of interest to you and that you encourage your friends, families, employees and social media "contacts" to contact these legislators to support or oppose these bills as appropriate. Whatever contacts you have always remember to demand that they enact "full constitutional carry" and that they eliminate the "gun free zones". Calendar Report. 29. For that, I’d wait until I was going over to Knoxville and take it to @LawEnforcementSalesTN. It’s a job that any competent smith should be able to do, but it’s one that’s easy to screw up, too. Nothing like a baffle strike because some fool threaded it off center.

  30. My question is how do they plan on enforcing this? The only way possible is massive enforced registration... Am I right or am I missing something? Because this seems to be getting some RINO support..

  33. Yes, as long the person is a resident of TN, and you have no reason to believe that he is prohibited from possessing a firearm. Handguns cannot be shipped using the US Mail. Handguns must be shipped UPS or FedEx, however good luck finding a UPS or FedEx place that will let you ship it to a non-FFL. Although it is permissible under Federal Law, UPS or FedEx will usually only ship to a FFL. From the ATF website: ATF Online - Firearms - Frequently Asked Questions - Unlicensed Persons
