  3. Real simple, welted slip sheath (I did wet firm this'n, being so small) with a 1½" clip The clip isn't perfect for inside-the-pocket carry, but it'll do. Plus I can OWB it or attach it to a pack belt.

  5. Open source intelligence really is the undervalued way to collect. For all the protestations of "boating accidents" people joke about, plenty of gun owners declare far and wide what their inventory is as they post away, and the internet is forever if you didn't know. This kind of thing is a natural extension of such. If there back is against the wall by the courts, they'll argue that they're collecting info on trends, not ownership or sales. And it'll be to determine something about terrorism for the children because that's how it's been since Nanny/11 made people forget freedom has implied risks.

  9. Gone to a new home is this feather knife. Now that I know the things I have to do I'll probably make a few more in the future. It has Purple Leaf Plum handles from a tree I cut down in my yard last year. It has True-Stone ( http://masecraftsupply-com.3dcartstores.com/Recon-Stone-Tru-Stone_c_310.html ), SS, black and white G10 accents with white G10 liners and SS pins and lanyard tube. It's made from 1/8" thick 1084 carbon steel and has an OAL of 9 1/4", 5 1/4" from handle to tip but only a 3" cutting edge. It came with the combo kydex/leather sheath shown.

  10. Being that other than my Benchmade mini-grip, every knife I've used in the last 20 years I've made myself I find it difficult to actually pay cash-money for a new fixed blade. But this wee bastard had me intrigued. Actual G10 scales, decent (7Cr17mov) steel, handy-dandy size & $20? Yeah, I'll give 'er a punt..... https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0773CN9LR?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_pd_title I have to say, I am BEYOND impressed! The primary & secondary bevel are clean, crisp & precise. Plunge is perfect, scale fit & finish is flawless & the edge has actually been properly honed. Usually there's a wire edge to one side of the secondary, but this thing is mirror smooth & literally shaving sharp, right out of the package. I need to whip up a pocket sheath (I cannot abide a 'neck' knife) but initial impressions are right up there......

  15. If the muzzle's going up that far, you might wanna hang on tighter! My hunting load in my old 1895 GG was a 405gn bullet over 56gn of h4895 giving 1930fps & I considered it very pleasant! More of a slow push.

  16. TN has a handgun carry permit. It allows you to carry a handgun. The state has no requirements as to how you carry it.

  19. Try 10-12 gn of Unique under that 300gn bullet. You'll need a little puff of dacron to hold it in place, but it'll feel like a .45 colt. 12gn of Trailboss under the same bullet (no filler needed) will feel like a .45 Schofield!

  22. I used to drive a '96 Volvo 850 (you know back when a Volvo was a real Volvo) and a dash light would illuminate anytime any exterior light was out + the third brake light located inside the car. The other thing they did on that car was it had separate high and low beam headlights, and all four bulbs were fused separately. They tried real hard to give you at least some amount of headlights to drive with at night if something happened. I always carried extra bulbs in the car since I couldn't truthfully say, "sorry officer I didn't know I had a light out".

  23. Carbide or ceramic were the nozzles of choice in my machine shop, carbide media would etch aluminum shoe sole molds as that was the look they wanted, probably too aggressive for gun parts.

  25. I’m not. This is the digital age. Information is easy to access, download, categorize and report. However, I suspect that the anti-gunners will use the numbers from Armslist that will make the number of private sales appear much larger than it really is. I also suspect a gun advertised over several websites will get counted several times. Although I doubt they really care what the numbers are. I don’t think their main use of this information will be as a database for tracking guns. I think they are going to use it to help justify legislation to stop private guns sales without a background check. And unfortunately (because it won’t help stop crime); I think it will work.

  27. Tiny little thing! Looks handy though. I like little fixed blades. I carry a Folts Minimalist Wharncliffe. I find the needle point on Wharncliffe style knives to be handy at times. This knife little knife you've introduced us too, looks a might better finished than the Folts though.

  28. How was the match? Pics or a range report? I wouldn't mind doing something like this!

  29. The problem with all of these cheap blasters is the nozzle and inserts they use. Any media which is even close to aggressive will wear the inserts out quickly, sometimes in minutes. Be prepared to either buy a lot of spares, or look at better blast systems with hardier nozzle materials.

  31. So I'm on Amazon, looking at the small "necker" sized knives to throw in my EDC backpack as a backup. And I says to myself "Bubba, no. If you buy any more knives, you're going to get yourself in trouble." So I muster the last of my willpower and head to TGO, to drown my sorrows in gun porn. The next thing I know, I'm spending $20 on Amazon for my 9th new knife of 2019. Thanks a lot!

  34. I don't know the twist rate of your barrel my friend but I'll try and include a diagram that may help somewhat. Twist rates matter. My ancient 16" Bushmaster Dissipator (from the days before RDS) has a 1:9 twist and definitely favors 55 gr bullets. I get stupid good results with 55 gr handloads using H335 powder. I get reasonable and affordable accuracy from Wolf Gold 55 gr rounds. I'd be happy to give you a few boxes to try before you buy if you'd like AJ. I've run a metric buttload of Wolf, Tula, Barnul, etc through it in classes and training.... while the accuracy is satisfactory for practice those steel cased rounds are still quite mediocre.

  35. That’s all excellent information @Cruel Hand Luke. I especially agree with the part that for the average person there is no legitimate cause to carry a baton. (Though I actually do keep one for use as a tire thumper in my Pete simply because it fits the door pocket just about perfectly.) I imagine that for most folks who don’t have some sort of (real or perceived) work reason to carry one, the class introduces a healthy dose of “why bother” into the mix. That alone I would imagine makes the class worthwhile. All that aside, I still think requiring a class to carry one is a problem because I think all prior restraint by the government on the population is a problem. If folks are going to carry impact weapons, they should get training on them just as anyone who carries a gun should get training because it’s the prudent thing to do. Doesn’t mean I think the government should have any input on the matter.

  36. https://wreg.com/2019/02/05/george-klein-legendary-dj-and-friend-to-elvis-presley-passes-away/ MEMPHIS, Tenn. — George Klein, the legendary Memphis DJ and best friend to Elvis Presley, has died at 83-years-old. Klein was a friend of Elvis Presley since they met at Humes High School at age 13. He was a groomsman in Elvis’ wedding and a pall bearer at his 1977 funeral. Klein died Tuesday evening. Priscilla Presley tweeted her condolences after learning of his death. Congressman Steve Cohen released a statement saying, “George Klein was a friend of Elvis, a friend to many and a friend of mine. A member of the Memphis Mafia and always TCB, George kept Elvis’ music at the forefront from the days of “Jailhouse Rock” to “Elvis Time” on SiriusXM satellite radio. He was always a nice guy and we were mutual friends of the late Irvin Salky. His was a life well lived and he will be missed.”

  38. Well...OK. Though this little tale isn't nearly as embarrassing nor foolish as some of the childish stunts my same age cousin and I pulled back then. We were about 9 years old, and like kids of the late 50s were fond of doing. We were playing army of some sort. So my Dad comes in from work and hands me a really, really HUGE package of Black Cat Firecrackers. (You know this isn't going to end well...don't you.) So my cousin Carson and I tore into them and very quickly tired of just lighting and throwing them. You see what's coming, right? Yep, that's it. We started throwing them at each other. But that just really wasn't satisfying enough. Not enough, make-believe blood, guts and gore for us. Being all American red-blooded little soldiers. It degraded quickly thereafter. We hit upon the idea of making hand grenades to toss. You know just for fun. Sure. We made I don't know how many mud grenades, used a stick to make a hole in them, and set them out to dry. But as it was late, we had to postpone the war until the next day. Come morning, Carson and I snuck out with a cigarette each and a bunch of the aforementioned firecrackers. We each had a flour sack. Some of you older geezers remember those I guess. Sat down and put a firecracker in each one, and loaded up our flour sacks. Then proceeded to light the cigs and commence trying to kill each other. Dried mud balls didn't react quite how we thought they would, especially after all that time to harden. They did "explode" to a degree. Mostly just into small, shrapnel-like pieces. But being to energetic and foolish to stop, we ran around the trees throwing them. all the while trying to find cover so as not to get hit too much. Now...remember that little shed from the start of this tale? That's right. That one. I proceeded to run inside and hide, throwing those dried mud grenades thru the open side of the shed. Well, those hornets didn't like the noise and pieces of dirt hitting the walls. A few started buzzing around and checking out the situation. About that time...Carson did a double up on me. Threw 2 inside. And of course the hit near that nest, and went off. That set off the whole nest, I think. I ran. They flew out with me. I ran for Carson, wanting to share the fun. lol We both got stung several times before getting into the house, where we spent most of the day. Now wasn't that long version better than just saying I got stung while in the shed? lol
