  1. This is a video and song sang by Jim Breuer who is a comedian and was "Goat Boy" on Saturday Night Live back in the day. Funny guy . He is presently a comedian but loved Heavy Metal from the 80's . He sings this song which he sings pretty awesomely ! He references Ozzy , Judas Priest , Metallica , Dio , ACDC , and on and on . My wife even liked it . Funny video and the song is really nice too. Just thought I'd share .

  2. I have shot there a lot over the years. It has been awhile now. It was always well run. It was also the busiest range in the state, with lots of newbies. So, if anything, the RSO's were pretty heavy handed. So... the number of shootings has been sursrisingly low for the amount of traffic and noobery.

  3. I think this is a great story. Instead of continuing to tax the population, they have teamed up with local shop owners to help the public.

  5. So I'm on Amazon, looking at the small "necker" sized knives to throw in my EDC backpack as a backup. And I says to myself "Bubba, no. If you buy any more knives, you're going to get yourself in trouble." So I muster the last of my willpower and head to TGO, to drown my sorrows in gun porn. The next thing I know, I'm spending $20 on Amazon for my 9th new knife of 2019. Thanks a lot!

  7. I could be wrong, but I believe he's saying that if all vehicles uniformly ran DRLs, then motorcycles and the like no longer stand out in daylight hours as the "something different" that gets your attention by having headlights on.

  8. That was pretty good. Jim Breuer does a great cover of The Hokey Pokey as AC/DC.

  9. I ran into bigun early last week in front of the little neighborhood grocery in Munford that sold that $500+ Million lottery ticket last year. We got to talking about the lottery which jogged my feeble memory of something I intended to do last year but kept putting it off. I sent the following to my House Rep. In Nashville. There was more to it, samples of reasons and such but this was the meat of it. Maybe if this is brought up by House Reps. and State Senators from all over the state it could get done. I can’t think of one single reason why anyone would be against it except for those who are anti-lottery. I’m writing to request legislation be passed that would allow lottery winners in our state to remain anonymous. There are currently seven states that allow winners to remain anonymous if they desire and I believe Tennessee should be added to that group. I’m sure this could be passed by our representatives and Governor, which would be the easiest way, but if placed on the ballot of a general election I believe it would be approved by at least 95% of the voters.

  11. Many thanks to @alleycat72 for the lower! All told, I have receipts totaling $376 including the 2 mags, scope, mount & foregrip Lots of judicious shopping around, waiting for deals & eBay netted me this & I'm tickled pink!

  12. Being that other than my Benchmade mini-grip, every knife I've used in the last 20 years I've made myself I find it difficult to actually pay cash-money for a new fixed blade. But this wee bastard had me intrigued. Actual G10 scales, decent (7Cr17mov) steel, handy-dandy size & $20? Yeah, I'll give 'er a punt..... https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0773CN9LR?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_pd_title I have to say, I am BEYOND impressed! The primary & secondary bevel are clean, crisp & precise. Plunge is perfect, scale fit & finish is flawless & the edge has actually been properly honed. Usually there's a wire edge to one side of the secondary, but this thing is mirror smooth & literally shaving sharp, right out of the package. I need to whip up a pocket sheath (I cannot abide a 'neck' knife) but initial impressions are right up there......

  13. It's the BEST place to dial in a scope IMO. It's the only outdoor range I know of that allows you to change the range of your target without changing lanes. I have dialed in a bunch of scopes there.

  14. I've had good luck with Lawman for target rounds, as it's made by Speer (who also makes the Gold-Dots I carry for personal protection). Also in 124 grain! My belief is (right or wrong...), that the target ammo will perform similar to the defensive ammo by the same manufacturer. In fact I can almost recall reading that Speer designs it that way (or I could be BS'ing myself). If you shop around and wait for sales, free shipping offers, etc., you can get it at somewhat reasonable prices, and just make sure you stock up. That Ammo-bot website is useful. I had really bad luck using Walmart ammo (cough, winchester, cough...) not only being dirty, but FTF, stovepipes, and other performance issues. Switched back to 'quality' rounds, nary a problem. Now that being said, would make for a good training exercise to intentionally mix in some sub-par ammo with the hope that it precipitates a problem, forcing you to hone your recovery skills. - K

  16. Nashville Armory is good, Royal Range is great. Stones River is run like ranges were in the army, but it's a good place to dial in a scope or get some fresh air while you're shooting.

  17. Couldn't tell you exactly. I only use soda in mine because I use it for aluminum silencer cleaning. This is from the description. Hopper takes most abrasives: steel grit, glass beads, pecan shells and more

  18. I bought one of those and it sucked. Just didn't seem to feed well. I bought this one instead and it works pretty decently. https://www.harborfreight.com/portable-abrasive-blaster-kit-37025.html

  20. From the Glock manual. Trigger must be in the rearward position.

  21. You are going to have to elaborate even more. Because I have to pull the trigger on my 17 to get the slide to actually move off the frame. You can pull down on the takedown lever and get the slide to move a little. But until the striker is no longer under compression, it will not come off of the frame.

  27. Throw on a good red dot (the Sig Romeo we're discussing for cross thread points), and use a sling to get a good arm lock extention (the "brace" loses functionality at this point, admittedly), and you have a normal daytime bag concealable, yet stable platform, that a lot of people can shoot better than a pistol, with the magazine capacity of 20-30 rounds.

  28. Every manual is pretty clear in what are usually large call-outs that the gun needs to be cleared before cleaning. If that's not a deliberate process which would set your mind at ease because you've checked and re-checked that the magazine is not present, the chamber is clear, and the extractor isn't holding a bullet in place, you're probably not someone who needs to be handling firearms.

  29. That is against the rules of most lotteries unless specified by law. One of the most recent large wins had that rule. The lady that won tried to sue the lottery to stay anonymous. Not sure if she won or not. The lottery had a rule that only a person could accept the award, not a trust.

  30. Even though I have cleared and checked the chamber multiple times the gun is still pointed to the ground before I pull the trigger. I also don’t completely trust a decoker. It is always to the ground before using it.

  31. I just sorta had it on in the background and peeked at it once in a while. Missed most of the commercials and didn't really care. To me it was a bunch of yankees playing a bunch of left coasters. Not real sure which group I dislike more.

  33. The issue is that it is viewed as lethal force. The reason it is viewed as "less lethal" for cops is because they ostensibly have training in its use and are using it to subdue not to kill . If you hit someone in the head with a blackjack (or a sap or a baton to a lesser degree) you run a pretty fair chance of giving them a depressed skull fracture. There is a reason that very few police departments allow the use of saps and blackjacks anymore. The certification class teaches you to target areas that are less likely to cause permanent crippling injury or death. Police can use any means necessary to effect an arrest. Civilians cannot. If you refuse to comply with the officer's commands he can MAKE you comply with empty hands , taser , pepper spray, baton or even a firearm. A civilian can only use lethal force in response to lethal force. Due to his job description he does not operate under the same rules a civilian does. For the police officer the baton is just another level up from pepper spray in the use of force continuum....for a civilian it is viewed as aggravated assault unless he is responding to lethal force. A cop can hit you with a baton for punching him....a civilian is going to have a whole lot of explaining to do as to why he hit someone with a stick (aggravated assault) for punching him . I'm not saying it cannot be articulated , I'm saying it will probably have to be articulated and the answer is not just "Because he hit me"...... We can make the argument that for the average civilian going about their business the baton really serves no purpose. Police use it to subdue and take into custody individuals who do not want to be subdued and taken into custody. Civilians out in the street are not really supposed to be doing that..... And as such for a civilian , the club (sap, jack, baton) is viewed not a physical compliance tool to effect an arrest but as a lethal force tool. And if you are legally justified to use the baton you are justified to shoot them. Nobody seems to like to hear that but that is the reality of it. Full disclosure... I actually attended that same Monadnock certification class with Prag back in 2006 and have carried (and maybe used?) a baton when working security in the entertainment business back in the day. I also own about a dozen saps and jacks (Boston Leather, D3 Protection, Foster Brothers) and occasionally carry them. But the curse of being a big strong still fairly young dude is that the court system is going to view my use of a blackjack differently than Prag's use of it. In all honesty if I am justified to use the sap or jack I'm justified in using the pistol.

  35. I just bought a new 300 Ham'r barrels. I put it on a 3yr. old American Tactical AR I have. I'm taking it out this weekend to warm it up. I read that it shoots flat and has consistent 1" moa. I'll let you know how it goes.

  36. Ive shot CZs before, I really liked the CZ75B... Never really thought that much about buying one for some reason. When it came time to add a pistol to my rotation, I always bought something else... Well the time has come. The deal came through. I picked up this CZ75 SP-01 Saturday. Ive done some reading, but Im ready to be schooled. Tell me guys, what do I need? (other than a ton of ammo to put through it, I got that, no worries) I will not be turning this into a competition gun, all of my firearms are potential SD guns, so no.. Im not building a race gun. That being said, give me some suggestions those of you that KNOW these CZs. I have a Cajun Gun Works Ultra Lite54420 spring kit, as well as TFX TFO Pro sights (installed Sat), Ive ordered a few extra mags... so fill me in! It's pretty
