I hope folks will list them out. It would be an interesting exercise to attempt getting on his calendar to discuss 2A issues.3 points

CZ is showing the gun industry what right looks like. They're killing it as of late.3 points

Just do a AR-9. If the brace is outlawed, just pull it off. If AR pistols are outlawed, add a stock and longer barrel and have a rifle.2 points

I imagine the list might start something like this: 1) Constitutional carry 2) No permits or reduced (or no) fees and requirement to obtain one. 3) The ability to carry wherever. No posting of private businesses/government offices.1 point

I want one of these but I’m afraid some crazy person will do what crazy people do and these pistols will be next on the ban list. After seeing how tough (insert sarcasm) that was to accomplish with bump stocks, I’m on the fence. Had the bump stock thing gone down with a grandfather clause or a (reasonable) buy back, I might think harder about it.1 point

There you go. Sometimes, over-engineering, even if unnecessary leads to advancements that we couldn't have seen otherwise. Plus, from the design and way that they wrote the article, I'm thinking that is designed more with an eye towards .mil applications with belt feds. If it manages to mitigate heat, even back to the barrel, it keeps that gun in the fight longer.1 point

You obviously are unaware of the massive surpluses from sales tax we had each quarter last year. The state of TN does not need more money. They, in fact, need to lower the sales tax because it's obviously taking it way too much money. Watching them talk about how to spend the extra money after each quarter was reported was sickening considering they had raise the gas tax last year.1 point

I have been looking at it even beyond that. How to produce the ingredients too. More of a "I want to know how" than actually making it. Right now, I would just buy it. If things got bad, it might be necessary at some point. Eventually ammo will run out if things are chaotic. It would take a bit of trial and error, but most calibers could be reloaded with it. You would lose some power, but it would still fire. Or at least you could revert to flintlocks if you could not make primers. Just get things in my head to explore.1 point

Yeah, you are paying for the convenience. Hunt the WMAs and you may or may not see anything. Go to Loshbough and it's highly likely you'll get a shot. Time or money is pretty much what it comes down to.1 point

When I was a kid. Charcoal, sulfur, and saltpeter I believe. It would make a boom.1 point

From what I know of his character, I don't think it would be likely that the desires of friends will carry any more weight than the desires of his constituents. He seems like a straight shooter in that sense. What types of pro gun legislation would you like to see him support?1 point

Now if only they would release the CZ75 SA suppressor ready that I want.1 point

Don't just look at the sales tax though. Look at the overall tax burden in the state and we are the third lowest taxed state. https://wallethub.com/edu/states-with-highest-lowest-tax-burden/20494/1 point

Good to know - thanks! So Yahoo isn't just blocking us comprehensively.1 point

There is another way to go, let me keep them for you. Be sure to have ammo as well, you know how firearms like to be used. Rent will be low.1 point

Still pricey for me. I know it is accommodations and everything, but $750 would buy lots of pork. Then if you need it butchered add $150. I would love to take my dad and enjoy the experience, but my budget is not there. I would love to try them on the WMAs, but I hear the same thing. They are there, but hard to get.1 point

I had a member here, make me a holster for my Taurus 627. It's very close to the same size as a S&W K-Frame revolver. He used his S&W K-Frame Blank to make the holster. If it were me, I'd go to a LGS and ask if you could try your 617 in a holster made for a S&W K Frame holster for the appropriate barrel length. Most will let you do that.1 point

+1 Loshbough. Good property, good people and good hogs. I'm heading to Texas at the end of Feb to see if I can't put some pork in the freezer. Night time hunt w/ thermal optics... should be fun.1 point

According to their instagram and the Scorpion Facebook group, they have already shipped the first batch. I personally don't like the micro or k conversions because I think they are too small. But I also think its amazing that a company saw what the aftermarket was doing and they said, hey, we can offer that from the factory. I love my scorpion SBR. You will love the thing.1 point

Purchased a Tokarev T33 just recently. It was listed as Military Surplus and used. Didn't try for any special pick of 5, (or was it 10). Just wanted a firing example. I received as good an example as I had not expected. It looked more like un-issued stock to me. No marks of any kind. I'm extremely happy with what I received.1 point

I think you make some excellent points in this post. In Oct 2017 we ( Brad, @BrasilNuts, and I) cast, coated, and worked up some 160 gr 9mm loads. Using Titegroup we came up with some very accurate and soft recoiling loads. Our velocities ranged from 824 fps to 940 fps out of a Glock 17 and a Glock 34. (FWIW the 824 fps dropped to 753 fps in my Shield). The 940 fps loads showed signs of overpressure. I guess with a proprietary powder mixture and the proper, professional grade pressure testing equipment the ammo manufactures should have, their claims may be safely achievable. I believe some competition folks on BE Forums work with this bullet weight in 9mm and many of them are quite knowledgeable... I would like to read more about their testing and development procedures though. But I imagine they hold that info close. I wouldn't mind working with some 185 gr bullets for S&G's. But I'll happily stick with 147 gr HST or similar for a carry load. At $1.38/per round I don't think I'll be purchasing any to play with.1 point

To add to this, I’m an anarchist. I reject the idea of government being a legitimate entity on principle, and yet I went and got a lifetime permit because I understand the reality of the world we live in. There’s a difference between acting on principle and acting on pride. It’s best not to get them confused.1 point

And I'm A-OK with that. I'm still of a mind that the metal detectors at entry checkpoints and officers in the building for security stay, and keep those without permits from bringing in weapons. I just want my carry permit to be honored by the state that gave it to me inside government buildings.1 point

There are many flavors of conservative. One would think the concept of the big tent to be a good idea. That often doesn't seem to be the case.. Seems to be a little shortsighted in my opinion.1 point

Just set up a canned hunt. If it's about doing something with your father than do it. Some may look down on it, but so what. Some of us don't have fathers anymore.1 point
