  1. This is what worries me. The media and a lot of people in government WANT us to be against each other. They despise the vision that leaders like Martin Luther King Jr. had for a country united where "color blindness" could reign supreme. My wife are working hard to ensure that our kids love people the way that Jesus loved people. We want them to be indifferent to a person's physical appearances and to make decisions based on the character of people's hearts. I dread the day when our kids encounter someone who doesn't look like them who tells them they hate them because they are white and because white people are guilty of "insert injustice here". My kids aren't being raised to be apologists; they are just being raised to be decent.

  2. To those of us who are relatively new to the shooting sports, as well as those of us who have short memories, Palmetto State Armory continues to send emails full of crazy cheap deals and free shipping on various parts, firearms, and ammunition. Those of us who have been at this a while can attest that this will not always be the case. My advice to you is to buy it cheap and stack it deep while the good times last.

  3. You probably know this, but wear rubber gloves or do everything in your power to keep your skin's oil from fingerprints and such off of the bulb when you install it. The minuscule amount of oils on your skin can actually cause bulbs to burn hot on the area where the oil is present, and consequently fail early.

  4. A while back I posted a new purchase of mine at Buds of the Star BM9. A great buy for a all steel accurate mid size 9. Problem is spare mags are running about 35 bucks or more by the time you put shipping on them. I found that with a little tweeking, the Promag KAR 02 mags can run just fine in the BM. These 10 rounders need 2 things done to them to get them to work. 1) the body of the mag needs a very slight squeeze in a basic vise to reduce its thickness by about .008" . That will get the mag to be very nearly a drop free mag and still have a freely moving follower. 2) the slide stop step on the plastic follower needs about 1/16ths shaved off or else the slide will lock back with one round still in the mag. That's it. Center fire systems has these mags for $15.99 @ free shipping if you find $99 worth of an order. Who doesent like cheap for a play toy?

  5. I'm not in disagreement with your commentary. I'm not calling for, nor do I see a "race war." What I fear will happen is something on a city wide scale that will let both sides, and all people, the folly of all this "white guy/black guy" did the crime sort of mentality. The kind where citizenry storm the streets chanting for "justice" when all they want is revenge for whatever indignity or crime has been commited. Yes, I tend to be a bit pessimistic, but have you seen the people and the world today?

  6. Bob Einstein, who brought us the world’s greatest daredevil, has passed away. Too many good stunts to pick just one so I’ll just leave the YouTube search: https://m.youtube.com/results?search_query=super+dave+osborne

  8. Good job on modifying a mag that probably needs tweaking to begin with (according to the internet) to suit your totally unrelated application.

  9. Nothing wrong with that. It is the accepted way among most gun folks. How else can you properly compare and contrast?

  10. This x1000. Some nitwit near me with an "I'm compensating for something" truck has LED headlights that are just plain hateful. Last time he got behind me, I pulled off into a side street just to get him ahead of me.

  11. After getting a look at the shooter and a few of his accomplices How could anyone say the shooter was even close to white unless they were trying to sway the police in another direction. I just hope they put these guys in jail for ever and ever for killing that little girl...........

  12. Let’s just say that they will require making sure your headlights are properly aimed very important. That reminds me folks, ensuring your headlights are properly aimed and adjusted is a regular maintanence item. If you find yourself getting flashed with brights a lot while you don’t have yours on, maybe it’s because you’ve got one cockeyed bulb blinding the hell out of everyone. At least once a year, take the time to ensure that your headlights haven’t come out adjustment. Just another friendly PSA from your local truck driver.

  14. Get LED replacements. Friend of mine did that to his outback and the LED's have been in there for years. It was pain to convert as I saw pictures of what looked like the whole front clip scattered around his garage, but it seems to have been worth it.

  15. I work with a couple young guys, 21. They are buying suppressors and SBR's at the moment. I keep warning them they need to stack cheap AR's while they can. I've told them the glory days of AK's and SKS's and how I was young and never thought about buying a whole bunch of them while they were cheap, kick my self all the time for that. The time will come where the AR is going to be expensive again, I hope you have a bunch squirreled away. I just added one of the PSA CHF 14.7 Uppers to my collection and finished that out with a lower Saturday night. I plan on adding a bunch more this year while I can.

  16. Right now I am in the middle of a remodel. The going is pretty slow. Need a painter here and a framer there. Some cabinet work, sheetrock work, etc.

  17. My Tacoma's headlights lasted for a few years (OEM Sylvania), but once the first one went, each replacement did not last a year and I bought all three levels of Sylvania lights. I used to leave my lights on as they go off automatically when I shut the engine off, but found out with my Toyota that can be an issue. I researched and found a brand (Sylvania's suck) PIAA, that seems to be going good, almost two years now. I don't know if it is the bulb or the fact that I now manually turn my lights on and off, but either way I'm glad that is over. BTW these are the ones I got: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00067BVDC

  18. You are welcome. You are very lucky to get to share that great pistol while he is still with you. My grandfather had a very unfortunate issue long before me when a friend he sold a pistol to killed his wife. He never let another pistol go as long as he lived. My Dad has them now and I will get them at some point. I think family guns hold so much more meaning.

  21. I meant to note before that an M4 is a NFA (machine gun because it either can do 3 round bursts or full auto depending on model) item, you want to look at an AR15. AR15, AR10, and AR9 are semi only guns. As someone noted, it is based on the Armalite model names. Armalite Rifle 15, AR15. I agree the Mini14 or Mini30 can be good options too

  22. According to police four independent witnesses described the white guy. Add that to the whole eye witnesses are terribly unreliable thing and it seems incredibly plausible to me.
    1 point
  23. And I'm surprised. I didn't think about the possibility that the guy that was described to the sketch artist might be a witness, and the victims just got his role in the shooting wrong. https://www-m.cnn.com/2019/01/06/us/jazmine-barnes-shaun-king-tip/index.html?r=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cnn.com%2F

  24. No way would I take that bet. I would honestly be surprised if they came up with any white folks involved in this crime. But, I try to let our criminal justice system work through its process before I decide who's who and what's what. Sometimes that's hard. I also agree with LINKS2K that the media is in the business of news. While I'd like to think this was only a matter of them reporting what they were (truthfully or otherwise) told, I think there has become a greater desire on the part of the average news organization to be first rather than to be right. That's to our detriment, and completely aside from the exercises in axe grinding which so many media outlets on both ends of the political spectrum participate in these days. Also, I don't think any kind of race war is imminent. There's a lot of friction in our society these days, but people in general are too attached to what they have to risk it, and it would require too much effort from too many people. Which, I suppose, is a good thing in a way...

  27. I can’t dispute how you feel about this situation or your expectation of a huge racial conflict. I’ll just give my opinion. As mentioned before, everyone involved should be dealt with in the harshest manner according to the law. Secondly, I also believe that media is now committed to the business of making news, regardless the outcome. Bad outcomes are better for media. Finally, I just can’t buy into the race war. People are always doing something that someone believes is going to ignite the powder keg. As I’ve recently gotten away from massive amounts of social media I’m finding that anticipation of a race war is mostly internet driven. Most people are really walking around blissfully ignorant, and they like it that way. At first it bothered me a lot( I still don’t like it), but it’s shown me that not everyone is arming themselves for Armageddon. Do I wish more people would pay attention to national and world events before they effect them, of course I do, but I also like the idea that not everyone is sitting at home soaking up negative and polarizing news while itching for a chance to kill fellow Americans just so they can say I told you it would happen. Good day!

  28. The media seems to have gone above and beyond to create a race war among us. They very well may succeed. It'll be hard to put that genie back in the bottle once it starts.

  29. I have that same thought as David and don't believe there was ever a white dude. They are either trying the throw the authorities in another direction or it is gang related and they are afraid to actually give them the names of the people doing the shooting. We will probably never know the real truth.

  30. I'll bet you a Coke that there was never a white dude inside the car.

  31. No, my angered reaction is just to the way these stories spread like wildfire, with little to no verification of the facts, because it's the narrative that the mainstream media wants to propagate. I'm troubled by the society that my kids will be growing up in.

  34. Ok Well hopefully the other link/info helped. I did some research years ago that I will post here for anyone that does have a tax stamp on a box. All public info, just have to dig a bit. A list of the acts related to ammunition tax and what changes occurred: ============================= 1937, Ch. 84: mentions a “privilege tax” which equals 3% of the retail sales price of the ammunition; no mention of specific amount 1945, Ch. 37: $.03 per box on center fire and shotgun shells; $.01 on rim-fire ammunition 1974, Ch. 481: all money from the ammunition tax goes to the Wildlife Resources Fund; no mention of specific amount of tax 1979, Ch. 179: $.05 on any ammunition box 1982, Ch. 738: amending language; no mention of tax amount 1989, Ch. 486: $.10 on any ammunition box ===========

  35. Well if it were me, I'd go with a FNH FNS. Best 9mm I've ever shot. Really like mine!!! Comes with three mags too, for around $400. If you would like to try it out, let me know. You supply the rounds and I'll supply the FNS. If you decide on a steel 9mm, not sure you could do better than a CZ75 or a Browning Hi-Power. The CZ will be cheaper than the Browning. I prefer both over the Beretta 92 and the S&W's.
