After 3000 posts and no warnings, I thought it safe to properly introduce myself. I've been a firearm and shooting enthusiast for 30 years, primarily a handgun shooter. I do like the PCC / PDW concept and have 2 projects that got way out of hand, a .30cal M1 carbine and 9mm HiPoint carbine. My current preferred brand is CZ, my favorite being a CGW tuned 75B Omega. Next favorite is a new to me RAMI P, which has been my EDC for the last two weeks. In the shooting arena, I started formal training in 2012 with Randy Harris and Suarez International. I have continued to utilize Randy as my primary instructor ever since. I would describe myself as a professional student, practical not tactical, and a confident fighter with adequate shooting and defensive skills. Professionally, I entered the financial services sector in 1988 in consumer lending. I'm old enough to know what I don't know, but well versed on borrowing and lending money on stuff, vehicles specifically. Sales, training, business development, marketing, leadership, relationship building are all pieces of what I do. The downturns of 03 and 08 opened my skill set restaurant management and operations (twice), commerical and residential moving, leading a multi million dollar flooring installation and sales organization, to running a souvenir kiosk at UT sporting events. Married, 22 years, son and granddaughter. Enjoy historical fiction and alternative historical fiction. Being a history buff, Google-fu allows me to fact check or dive deeper into the history the author is presenting. I can honestly say I like all music. While not a musical family, my paternal grandmother played the viola in a community orchestra and weekend quartets with Leroy Anderson. Dad can still bang out a tune or three on the piano. I played trombone in highschool marching band and we listened to classical music at dinner while growing up. Within each musical genre I've been exposed to, I have found at least one or two tunes I actually like. I'm a born again, open minded, gun toting, Bible reading Roman Catholic. I am humbled and blessed to have so many TGO friends, those I've met in person and those who I only know through posts and PMs. As my hero Sam Berns teaches, surround yourself with people of quality; thank you for accepting me!3 points

She was a wonderful person and had a beautiful soul and it took a little building to get her where she was. I didn't put the part in there about her ex peeing his pants when he saw the gun in her hand pointed directly at him and she was not shakng at all. She told him he had two choices Lay down face first on the floor or get shot. At first he hesitated til she clicked the safety off and he peed his pants while getting on the floor. We got a good laugh out of it but I think it did her the most good to know she didn't have to fear him beating on her any more. I wish I could have had more time with her but GOD had other plans but I was blessed all the time we did have together.3 points

To spend more time talking, texting, and visiting with my father. He's getting up there in years, and the vicissitudes of aging are slowly but surely making their presence felt.2 points

Good call. Sometimes the discussions in the trading post (placing an ad there being the privilege of a benefactor) just get a little out of hand.1 point

We have camped in every TN State Park, that has RV camping in TN, except for 2 around Memphis. Don't have any desire to go to Memphis or that area. Every Park has something unique to that area. TN has a lot to offer out of doors. Get out and enjoy it QuackerSmaker.1 point

The educators in our classrooms today don't want our youth to know about the real history of our country so they just quit teaching it. I learned about history of America all through Middle School and High School and in High School I also took classes in World History. I bet you cannot find an American history book from back when I was in High School in any classrooms today............JMHO1 point

What she did was awesome. It goes to show how cowardly these perps are who insist on beating on people smaller and weaker than them. I have been in some really scary situations in my life and I have never peed my pants, lol!! People like the ex are disturbing, especially since I have gone through life as a petite woman and it is not uncommon to have someone bigger and stronger than me think they can lash out at me, push me out of the way or take advantage of me. I do not look forward to looking older, not because I am vain, but because older is yet another category perps think they can take advantage of. I have always said, the gun levels the playing field, old or young, man or woman, big or small.1 point

Any fuel pump can fail. Even the stock in-tank pumps and all their after-market replacements. I lost a motor to a 100 shot of nitrous over a bad in-tank pump once. That said, it really is a none issue. Most superchargers and nitrous kits come packaged with a similar pump. I've seen a lot of cars running these DSX setup with zero issuess. One is a friend of mine with a 10.3 sec Cadillac CTSV at 4400lbs race weight.1 point

Most likely a bad magazine. However, it could be a problem with the magazine catch. Being brand new, I'd take it back to the store and let them sort it out. What brand pistol is it and is the magazine factory original? Did it come with more than one magazine?1 point

I don't make any resolutions, however keep up the good work bersaguy. I quit smoking in 1987 and have not touched one since. Of course I gained 50 pounds, but eventually lost a few. If you manage to quit it will pay dividends later one in your life. That's a good thing.1 point

Take off the slide and try it then and see what happens. Also you can take one or two rounds out and see if it locks in then. Is it a new pistol? If so may need some break in. Hope you get it working.1 point

Back before my wife passed away we together spent at least once a week at the range. When I met her she had never fired a gun of any kind and was just coming out of a very abuasive marriage of 17 years. She never spoke much abou it and I had to drag it out of her what she went through. She had an order of protection out against him after the divorce which he violated regularly. She would call the police but by the time they arrived he would be gone. He actually kicked her door in twice. The police arrested him those two times, slap on the wrist and he was out again. I had a small 25 caliber semi auto I taught her how to shoot 1st so she would at least have something she could keep at home and it would be better than nothing. I was impressed how quick she caught on to the little gun. At 3 yards she was able to to put 5 rounds in a coffee cup saucer size circle. I told her to just focus on center mass and shoot till the gun was empty if she ever had to use it. She told me that knowing she had it and knowing she knew how to shoot it was the first night she actually was able to sleep and rest. As time went on I took her back to the range and moved her up to the 380's and she caught on very fast and I was impressed with her progress. There did come a time that the 25 was needed but she never had to shoot him. He kicked in her front door on a Sunday morning about 9AM. She waited for him to enter the house as I told her to after she dialed 911. When the police arrived he was laying face down on the floor with his hands behind his back and she was sitting in a chair waiting for them to arrive. That was the last time he ever came back. He got 11/29 and 5 years probation and the judge told him if he violated probation he would serve every day of the 5 years. We still went to the range a couple times a month till she passed away and she improved every trip. Like I said earlier, I think all women need to take a course and get trained with a hand gun and get a CCP to protect them selves and their children. I wish you all the best in your endeavor to teach women how to defend themselves.1 point

I don't shop at Toddy's, haven't since college. But in his defense he is right. Facebook groups have driven demand to the point of lunacy. If a store employee puts a hard-to-find bottle on the shelf, 2 million people know about it within 15 mins. Then someone who doesn't know the difference in Weller SR and Makers Mark drives 45 mins just to grab the bottle because they think its the holy grail, making it hard for his regular drop-in customers to get what they want. Now that's no excuse to rant at you for that, all you did was drop in a buy a bottle of bourbon. I prefer the Old Weller Antique 107 to the Special Reserve but WSR is definitely worth $291 point

I took my first and second uber rides today and thought of this thread. Sadly steelharp didn't pick me up either time. I liked it. It seems like a really sound business model. I had a car in about two minutes both times. The drivers were very courteous.0 points
