So, I said my FAL needed a friend... Friend of mine who works at GT sent me a message cause he knew I’ve been after a decent older one at a fairly low price. I believe it’s a Mark III, 1990 production year by the serial #. She’s gonna get some wood grips and I’ll decide whether or not she’ll get a new finish after cleaning out the crud and rust. Now I guess I really do need to get on finding some Rhodie shorts in size “fat”.7 points

Perhaps you shouldn’t entertain out of state clients or be in the business of bringing more in. As a native Tennessean I’ll just go ahead and say we are full up. I can assure you everythIng they are trying to escape will happen here.4 points

When I married, I made a lifetime vow, and I intend to keep it. A couple of weeks ago, I would have brought home a new Indian motorcycle, but she had a fit. I had no idea previously she felt the s way about bikes, but whatever. I'm certain she's given up a lot t for me. I She isn't opposed to a boat, but isn't excited about one either. I decided against that. Tomorrow I intend to go to an auction where ther is a cherry 68 Mistang. She likes it. I sort of do, but it's a 6cyl car. If it goes cheap enough, I can put a 302 in it. Marriage is give and take. I can say I wouldn't have a small percentage of what I have today were it now t for her. Damn that Indian was a sharp bike though!!!3 points

I haven't posted anything in a while as I've been busy remodeling 2 houses so I thought I would post a couple pics of a new design I have been working on. This one is for a Springfield XD Mod2 9mm sub compact cross draw. I decided to do my heavy distressing on this one.2 points

I think you've realized just how suburban a good portion of TN has become. Everyone thinks we're real rural, but every year that's a little less true. We ain't cheek to jowl everywhere yet, but every year it's a little more.2 points

When my friend got married he planned on staying married for ever. He made great money and she wanted for nothing she didn't get including giving up his boat and nothing was enough for her. She did mention that she wished he could be around more and he said he did to but there was no way he could not make a living and put food on the table. He didn't divorce her. She divorced him. Now he has a complete new outlook on marriage. He says it's for married people. He is getting ready to buy a new Peterbilt next month. He will be trading in his 2010 on a 2018. He said when he trades trucks the 2010 will have been to the moon and back and have 480,000+ miles on it. He is contracted with Land Star freight Company. They give him a load going to California and when he unloads In California He goes and picks up another load they have waiting for him out there to bring back east. He hauls two big Ford vans west and brings a load of Hot Tubs back east. He began driving for his Uncle at age 18 and at age 20 bought his first rig of his own. He just turned 36 years old and is debt free. When he buys his new Peterbilt he will write a check for it. His contract with Land Star ends in 10 years and in 10 years he plans on retiring and going fishing. I asked him about how confortable he felt with leaving his cabin in the woods with the truck and boat and just an alarm system and he said he also has a childhood friend he went to school with staying at the Cabin as added protection and an AR15. His friend is disabled and Steven kind of looks out for him and visa versa. Stevens Nephew makes sure there is plenty of food there for Cecil and checks in on him often. Well, I'm sure folks are tired of reading such a long post but I am bored today so typing helps me with that. Hope ya'll understand................2 points

I have a Mark III very similar to yours. In my opinion, the BHP is the the best 9mm ever made. You're gonna love it!2 points

Hey, if I'm free when you get together next time, I'd love to join the throng. I'll bring a second shovel so the work would go faster and we could get back to shooting. I'd also like to check out this little carbine.2 points

So I’ve been wanting one for no good reason since they came out. Now that they are becoming increasingly available, the prices are at a tolerable level, and early reliability issues seem to have been addressed, I have one. Academy carries them and they were kind enough to send me a 10% off coupon in the mail a couple of weeks ago with actually very few restrictions. It was good for firearms. That made it a very attractive purchase and I could no longer resist. Finally got out to break it in today and I simply love it. Very accurate and 100% reliable. Put about 300 rounds total through it with half of that being Winchester NATO. Oh Shoot even fed it a bunch of that Winchester Forged crap and it ate it like a fat kid does candy. Put a Sig Romeo5 on it about halfway through the fun and it’s a great combo. Just put the dot on what you want to shoot and it’s going to get hit whether you’re using 115 or 124 gr bullets. Very pleased with it. It’s really a lot of fun and would make a dandy defense carbine as well. BTW, Champion BioBird clays are junk. They do not shatter to satisfaction and actually melt in the hot sun, lol.1 point

Looks like Marlin has finally gotten their act together and started making .357 lever actions again. Was at a gun store today and the conversation turned to Marlin .357’s and the guy said that they have in fact started production again after a long hiatus and are shipping now. He also claimed to “know a guy” that works in R&D at Remlin or some such thing and the guy said “they did it right”. This excites me.1 point

Well, been lurkin' around for a while but never had much to offer. You know what they say, "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt!" Call me Craig or Chief, I answer to either. Retired Navy (Small Boats), retired Mechanical Engineer (2nd career in Industrial Refrigeration), self designated Tennessee Hillbilly, married 46 years (to the same woman!), 2 kids (both joined the Army so I'm not sure where I went wrong) one is a PhD in Abnormal Psychology (said she had to study that to understand her parents ... I think I've been insulted but I ain't figured it out yet) the other is a 2LT Platoon Leader in the 291st MP Guard Unit at Levenworth. Dad is proud of both of them. Finally have enough time and money to feed my addictions, guns, fast cars, and high-end woodworking (also design and build Strip Canoes). Appleseed Instructor in Training and SCCA Time Trials Driving Instructor (though I've also been an Instructor at the NCM Motorsports Park in Bowling Green). Current fast car is a '17 Cadillac ATS 3.6 Premium Performance with all the upgrades, previous fast cars were all Track Toys (Civic Si Type R, S-2000, Dodge Demon) unfortunately all of them apparently had a sign on the side that said ... "Stop me, I'm Speeding!". The Caddy flies below the radar! Back to guns, I have 25, 50, 100, & 200 yard ranges on my farm complete with covered shooting stands and I'm currently mapping out a 300 and 400 yard range but that is for the future. Favorite cartridge (at least today) is the 6.5 Creedmoor but I load for .223, 6.5, .270WBY, 7mm-08, .250 Savage, .30-30, .308, 9mm, and .45ACP. Probably go through 300 .22LR a week and another 100 or so center fire. I once heard a statement that "Only accurate rifles are interesting" and I firmly believe it! Just tested a new 6.5 load this morning (41.5 Gn Superformance, 143 Gn ELD-X, CCI 200, Hornady Case) and shot three consecutive 3 shot groups under 1/2" at 200 yards (1/4 MOA). Rifle is a Browning X-Bolt Hell's Canyon Speed with a Nikon Monarch 5 (3-15 x 42) which just keeps getting better the more I shoot it. Also have the X-Bolt Medallion in .308 but haven't started working up a load for it yet, it is already sub MOA with factory rounds and is my “Huntin' Rifle”. Have a Weatherby Mark V Deluxe in .270WBY that I will sell in the near future, beautiful rifle, sub MOA but kicks like a Missouri Mule! I'm too old to ride the recoil any more! 'Bout all, lookin' forward to the new site and learnin' somethin' new I ain't learned yet so Y'all come on over when ya can set a spell.1 point

https://www.theblaze.com/news/2018/08/07/viral-video-shows-wheelchair-bound-boy-stand-for-national-anthem-at-tennessee-fair Viral video shows wheelchair-bound boy stand for national anthem at Tennessee fair 9 hours A viral video is making the rounds, featuring a young boy who is wheelchair-bound standing for the national anthem at a Tennessee fair. (Image source: Facebook video screenshot) Follow Sarah TaylorSTAFF WRITER POLITICAL VIEW CHRISTIAN LIBERTARIAN VALUES FAITH, FAMILY HERO JOHN THE BAPTIST Article GoalINFORM SHARE TWEET Facebook user Leah Norris caught the moment a patriotic young boy — who is apparently wheelchair-bound — stood for the playing of the national anthem at a Tennessee fair, according to WZTV-TV. What are the details? Norris said she attended a demolition derby Sunday night at the Putnam County Fair when she caught the heartwarming moment on video. During performer Jenny Leigh’s rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” a young boy — who wore braces on his legs — struggled to get out of his wheelchair. Norris did not fail to notice the young boy and his dedication to standing for the playing of the national anthem. In the video, the young boy — who WZTV identified as 10-year-old Avery Price — can be seen standing in the video, leaning on who the outlet identified as his father, as well as his wheelchair, in order to remain upright for the anthem. According to the station, Avery suffers from HSP — a condition similar to cerebral palsy — which makes it difficult for him to use his legs. Norris shared the video on Sunday, and captioned it, “One of the most touching things I’ve ever seen tonight! This young man was struggling to stand for the anthem as he had braces on both legs with his Dad patting his back in support of helping him. You may or may not agree and that’s your choice. But this goes to show that If he can stand for his country, so can you. I’m not sure who this boy or his family is, or if it’ll ever reach them again. But his parents are raising a fine young man.” At the time of this writing, the video has received over 55,000 views. Does the young boy realize the impact he made? Norris said that the young boy doesn’t realize the impact he made in standing for the national anthem, despite his infirmity. “He doesn’t understand the impact he made,” Norris said, according to the news outlet. “It’s not a protest of anything it’s more of our soldiers and our men and women in uniform are fighting for our rights to do what we want and Avery done what he wanted, and he stood up for what he believed and he stood up for his country.” WZTV spoke with Avery’s father, Stephen, who expressed pride in his son. ” … [V]ery proud to see him do that,” Stephen said. “That makes me feel really good, especially for the stuff he’s been through and that he still wanted to do that, that’s amazing to me.” Stephen added, “He’s a very patriotic kid. The braces he had beforehand were the American flags. He’s always been that way.” Avery told the station, “I usually sit and put my hand on my heart, but last night I decided to stand … because I like to stand for my country.” According to the station, Avery just started walking after a successful procedure at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.1 point

I’m a little late to this party, but I don’t think this was an accidental shooting. There are reports that the officer had filed several noise complaints against the victim, including one that day. There are also six witnesses that say the the officer was banging on the door and yelling for the victim to open up. I don’t know if it’s valid, but there is also a photo circulating that claims to show the shooter and the victim together. If reports about the noise complaints and photo are true, the shooter knew exactly where she was, and wore her uniform against department policy to intimidate the victim. I’ll wait for more facts, but in the mean time I’ll say that this reminds me of a Dave Chappell’s skit where a veteran cop claims to have seen a case as a rookie where a dead black person was accused of breaking into a home and hanging pictures of his family everywhere. It was the dead man’s home. The cops put drugs on him and left.1 point

I bought 26 acres just outside of town for this very purpose. It's hilly. I've a 30 yard range out the basement door with a plate rack and a good berm. 150 yard range down the hill and a place for a Hickock45 type setup in a ravine. 15 years ago this was possible, not anymore unless you go way farther out. No neighbors have complained yet. I do try to only shoot during the day. I hear shooting all the time around here.1 point

I’d listen and throw in a few just like I do for SN. I’d definitely would suggest that it be more of a biweekly/monthly basis. I think it’d be hella difficult after the initial glut to create enough content for a weekly podcast.1 point

A grand for something that isn’t a collectable and isn’t near the quality of todays 1911’s is too much for me. But if you want one; you should get it now. If a Democrat gets elected President you can bet the government won’t be selling handguns to citizens.1 point

We were on our way back from a short loop vacation and realized we would be passing close to Bud's in Sevierville about an hour before Hickok45 was having his meet & greet on Saturday so I diverted to see the big guy. Of course since I had an hour to kill..... Yes I had to buy something, I have had an LCP380 Ruger since they first came out and the LCP380 II has been calling to me and Bud's price was pretty good so.... I warned my wife, who said she would stay in the camper and read, that I might buy something. The trooper she is all she said when I came back to the camper was, did I find what I wanted and was the meet & greet good. Yes to both. Hickok45 was fun to see in person. Another highlight from our loop trip I finally had genuine Nashville Hot Chicken at Prince's. Was glad I listen to the counter person. I ordered hot and she asked if I had it before and I said no, she gave me some examples of how hot, hot was, and I ordered medium. Just right, it was great, wish I could get it in NE TN. For those that haven't been, there is 2 levels below medium and 3 above. Hot, Hot X and Hot XX are above medium. I can't imagine what Hot XX must do to your mouth and whole digestive system.1 point

I have one of these, and I have quite a few other single shots. I do have to say the feel of the rifle is quality. The trigger smoothed out a lot in just a box of ammo. I can post up some pictures and this weekend im going to try and put some of my handloads through it. Last time I took it out, i was just breaking in the barrel. I was shooting at 25 yards offhand and overall it handled great. The action when I got it was very stiff. It has started to break in, and its getting better as time goes on. One more thing guys, Guys, can you recommend a good drone simulator? In full 3D form, as I need this to teach my children. Recently found this website - https://bat-hawkrecon.com/.
