  1. I'm going to wait till the entire story is out before making a conclusion but as someone else has already said it looks fishy. I don't think anything fishy is going on now that Texas Rangers have been brought in the investigate the shooting. I only have 1 issue with what I have read so far. Why can't the news media write a headline that reads Police Officer shoots man in his apartment thinking it was her apartment. Why do they have to make sure a race card is played every time. He was a man that got shot while in his own apartment by a police officer that made a mistake thinking it was her apartment. She should not get any special treatment for her mistake. If the guy would have been white would it have made any difference??? Would a white mans family not be hurting right now also. It is a terrible shame it happened at all and the race card is totally in-material. A man lost his life period................JMHO

  2. I love these recurring threads in search of the holy grail. Been a while since we had one.

  3. Personally, a necked down 10mm, (not shortened), would seem to render a true .357 Magnum ballistics. I'd be into that just for the and giggles of it!

  4. Been trying to get my head wrapped around this since first read about it. How do you not know which apartment is yours? Smells a little fishy to me.

  5. I have a few nice 8pt on my cameras, but they're all night pics for the last couple of weeks. I guess it's been too hot lately for a lot of day time action.

  6. Well I had a couple weeks of non existent deer, very sporadic is more like it. It seems they were back at it this past week. Hope y'all enjoy!

  7. Not sure if a Grail, but when I saw one review refer to it as a hipster round, I was all in. It is nichey, just like .357 mag for SD. For my hipster persona, my 224 is the modern, quick reload version of my 3" SP101. I am also very impressed with the pistol shooting the round, so that is my only point of reference. Being thrifty, it's not wallet friendly, though the Sig brand of ammo is about the cheapest of the shelf I've seen (SMKW)

  8. I searched her name, she posts some gruesome pics, but it seems many are not her own pics so she may be getting second-hand info. But, seeing as these are during surgery, it may be that the cleaning of the wound, removing damaged tissue, is what we are looking at.

  10. I'm wondering if she was intoxicated. I can't understand how she could make a mistake this badly. The key not working should have been the first indication. Apparently he eventually opened the door for her and that's when he was shot.

  11. This will at the very least be a manslaughter charge. I feel terrible for everyone concerned.

  12. Technically, the .357 Sig round is off the 10mm round. It uses the thicker base of the 10mm case for the pressure.

  13. I can tell you that I'd rather have gotten shot while destroying that demonic murderer than to do what peterson did. The blood of the warrior does not flow in him. May the foul taste of cowardice rest in his throat from now on.

  14. Shooter did not hold up under questioning. After denying his BB gun could not fly that far and do damage, I offered the opportunity to do another test, right now. He then volunteered he may heard BBs hitting something, did not relate to hitting my house. Had a positive conversation and teaching moment about proper gun handling, offered to loan him a target stand and nicely, calmly said, "don't ever shoot my stuff again." Neighbor again confirmed intent to fix.

  17. Having attended many active shooter seminars, I was under the impression that LE procedure is first responder (s) are to engage the shooter as back up is on the way. I've posted before I'm not trained nor inclined to run towards gun fire, but if I can make a difference, I hope I have the courage and presence of mind to fight vs. flight or freeze.

  18. OH. I generally do "ok" with a lot of stuff. This specifically was...a lot to wrap my head around. Good reminder. I think oftentimes it is very easy to become complacent about certain things, especially when you carry a firearm nearly every day. It doesn't matter if you have successfully carried a gun, or cleaned a gun for that matter, 1,000 or even 100,000 times safely. All it takes is one screwup and your life and the lives of those around you could be very, very different.

  19. Better fired than possibly dead this time or the next one and I would not work for a company such as this and not be allowed to protect myself. That in itself tells me the company does not care about there employees..............JMHO

  20. I don't believe driving around the guy or backing up would have changed much of the outcome. The truck driver cut them off the first time so best not to give him another chance to do it again or worse. Standing his ground was the best move to make for the Uber driver..............JMHO

  21. This is Polk County FL, home to the famous Sheriff Grady Judd. He is about as pro-self defense and anti political correctness as it gets. Back in 2006 his deputies shot a cop-killer 68 times. When questioned by reporters about the # of shots fired he responded: “That’s all the bullets we had or we would have shot him more.”
