OH. I generally do "ok" with a lot of stuff. This specifically was...a lot to wrap my head around. Good reminder. I think oftentimes it is very easy to become complacent about certain things, especially when you carry a firearm nearly every day. It doesn't matter if you have successfully carried a gun, or cleaned a gun for that matter, 1,000 or even 100,000 times safely. All it takes is one screwup and your life and the lives of those around you could be very, very different.2 points

The Green River Gun Club (GRGC) of Bowling Green KY will be hosting an "IDPA like" Night Match on Saturday September 22. Per match director "Evil Mike": For the night match as a last hurrah to my run as match director we will be doing a movie themed match this year recreating some of the classic gun battles from various movies and a gun battle that should have been in the Gremlins movie. Since the night match isn’t an IDPA legal match, I’m taking liberties to do what I want in relation to round count in the John Wick stage, requiring tactical sequence in the Tombstone stage, and giving out procedurals for every shot fired while not moving in The Matrix stage. 4pm setup 6:30pm mandatory shooters meeting (if you are not present for this meeting you will not shoot) Match will start once it gets dark This is mostly an IDPA-like match using mostly IDPA rules. You must have shot 2 regular IDPA matches at any club previously to be eligible to shoot this match. $20 match fee Weapon Categories: Pistol: *Hand Held Light *Weapon Mounted Light (must fit in holster with light attached) *Weapon Mounted Light/Laser (must fit in holster with light/laser attached) Side match for Rifle/PCC: (the rifle/PCC shooters will be mixed in with the squads and will shoot the stage after the pistol shooters and before moving to the next stage) *PCC (pistol caliber carbine) with weapon mounted light *Rifle with weapon mounted light All targets must be illuminated by the shooter prior to engaging the target. The pistol round count for this match is going to be 100 rounds minimum. The rifle round count for this match is going to be 75 rounds minimum. The match will be scored under the following assumptions: If the stage description calls for 1 round per target then 1 round anywhere on the target will count as zero down. If you miss the target it will be scored 5 down. If the stage description calls for 2 rounds per target then 2 rounds anywhere on the target will count as zero down. If you miss with one round it will be scored 5 down, a miss with both rounds will be scored as 10 down. If the stage description calls for 3 rounds per target then 3 rounds anywhere on the target will count as zero down. If you miss with one round it will be scored 5 down, a miss with two rounds will be scored as 10 down, a miss with three rounds will be scored as 15 down. If the stage description calls for 2 rounds to the body and 1 round to the head then each target must have 2 rounds anywhere in the body and 1 round anywhere in the head to be scored as zero down. Any missed body or head shots will be scored 5 points down for each miss. Yes we will really be shooting mini me targets with pistols on some of the stages. Yes there will be whining and complaining. Yes it will probably be a long running match, but where else can you spend $20 for hours of fun? Show up, shoot stuff, have fun……………. The stages are as follows: Bay 1 Stage 1 (Attack of the Gremlins) Bay 2 Stage 2 (Tombstone) Bay 3 Stage 3 (Django Unchained) Bay 4 Stage 4 (The Matrix) Bay 5 Stage 5 (John Wick’s House) Note Stage 5 round count is 39! Just wanted to show my new Traditions Outfitter G2 in 45-70. I topped it off with a leupold 2x7 with the low rings. I had been looking for a single shot in 45-70 for a while now and the rifle I thought I wanted could not be found. So here it is. I have not had the chance to fire it yet but God willing this weekend we will. The rifle has a built in muzzle brake. I have never owned or shot a rifle with one so this will be now. I will let you know how it goes. Smiles Blessing1 point

For any of the East TN members I would recommend watching his latest movie that was filmed around Knoxville. The movie wasn't great but it was neat seeing the local spots in the film. It was called The Last Movie Star.1 point

I can see loosing a hand due to damage, but looking at the picture it just seems like too much for a ND. I would think that it would be a clean hole with maybe some damage from the muzzle blast.1 point

this reminds me of a story. I had a trainee who was a bigger dude and he always wore sweats and much to my dismay went commando. This wasn’t information I sought out, but anyone who watched him get out of a truck was aware of this fact. Driving all day tends to make one’s butt sweat, a lot. One day I had to have an uncomfortable conversation with him about the need to go buy some cotton undies because he getting his ass sweat all over my damn seats. He was either going to fix that issue or I was going to fix it by leaving him on the side of the road.1 point

GOATS: They don't eat grass - they're browsers like deer,. They like weeds, flowers, tomato plants, briars, leaves, bark, kudzu, etc. You'll have to mow their pasture! They will eat hay and commercial feed. They need a rain shelter, as they detest getting wet ( a carport with tarps for windscreens works well). If you get an intact billy, you'll need to keep him penned separate from the does or he'll run them ragged.1 point

I like my steaks rare, well seasoned but lightly done. No sauces should be needed. My wife was a well done steak eater when we met. Nine years later she has hers medium, it's been a slow process.1 point

I would say you could likely see trouble for shooting a coyote in defense of a pet or property. I don't condone a lie of any kind, BUT, it's just the easiest to say; I was in fear for my life. In theory that should nip it in the bud.1 point

Can shoot them during normal hunting hours, year round, no bag limit. You may shoot them at anytime that they are causing harm or damage to you, dogs, or your livestock. They are becoming a very serious problem around my farm and I hunt them 24/7 for that reason!!!1 point
