Looks like Marlin has finally gotten their act together and started making .357 lever actions again. Was at a gun store today and the conversation turned to Marlin .357’s and the guy said that they have in fact started production again after a long hiatus and are shipping now. He also claimed to “know a guy” that works in R&D at Remlin or some such thing and the guy said “they did it right”. This excites me.1 point

...to give the good folk here a heads up on a job opening for an LPN in the Cleveland area? It was posted on Indeed a couple of days ago and therefore would be easy to find. Let me know please if this is not the venue for this post or if I’m breaking any rules here by posting this interesting job opportunity for LPNs.1 point

A can of Krlyon from WalMart is inexpensive and can easily coat several Hi Points. Paint the whole thing.1 point

What’s the obsession with Dick’s around here? They are not going to go out of business by not selling guns.1 point

I wish someone had thought of this when our kids were in school. It would have been a lot cheaper in the long run photoupload1 point

When I was a kid school fundraisers involved getting money for performing a service, you know, like work of some kind.1 point

UGH! Roadblocks! I hate those! Teaching kids to stand on corners to beg for money instead of working to achieve their goals. Of course for some it may be good training for their future.1 point

I lived there for ten years, have property there, have family and freinds still there. It is not full of mostly old Florida crackers. It is a large county and yes Grady has a mouth. he also is full of scandal himself. He is not one to play the PC game though. Several universities there. Lakeland is a larger city. Auburndale, Winter Haven, and the others are also pretty well populated with younger folks. Out in the back redneck areas yes it is mostly old Florida Crackers. However they are not the type that use Uber so it is really not relevant. And poopulation wise they are a small percentage. Decades ago that was different. Ah, progress! And the guy they shot deserved what he got. He had numerous chances to give up. he wasa shot in the backyard of a friend and coworkers parent's house. Hiding under a magnolia tree like the rat he was. I was happy to hear Grady's statement after the shoot even if the progressives pissed their pants. Some folks seem to forget their unofficial motto, shoot at us and we will kill you! Grady has made no bones about saying that on whatever camera he can get in front of. He also shoots a pretty darn good round of clays!1 point

Magazines, Do people still read them things? I get one every month for being an NRA member and I give it to my grandson as he is the newest gun lover in the family. He reads everything in them. He is looking for a good Varmint gun w/ optics that he can afford. At 13 years old he does every odd job he can find to put money back for one.1 point

Well evidently the people of Polk County like him if he has been sheriff 12+ years and they keep voting him in. I read the story of the shooting and one line that was reported and I had to go back and look again. Boek got out of a "LARGE" pickup truck and threatened to shoot the driver. It looked like a plain 1500 series 1/2 ton pickup to me but I could be wrong!1 point

Well, I'm a Glock guy as that's what I've been shooting the past few decades, so there's that. But as I've mentioned in another thread, I would go with milling the slide to insure a solid attachment of the RDS. I've elaborated more on my personal reasoning already. Here's a couple of links to the folks I looked to while considering to have my 17 milled. Gabe Suarez has been a huge proponent of RDS, the RMR in particular, for quite some time now and therefore has seen a lot of them run though his many classes. I know Gabe can be considered "controversial" by some, but it's difficult to argue with his experience imho. http://blog.suarezinternational.com/2016/01/the-problem-with-the-mos-pistols.html Another excellent resource for your consideration is Scott "Jedi" Jedlinski of the Modern Samurai Project. http://www.modernsamuraiproject.com/about.html And then there's Aaron Cowan of Sage Dynamics and his incredible study on RDS on pistols for Law Enforcement. https://lockedback.com/results-4-year-handgun-red-dot-study-sage-dynamics/ I read countless articles and watched many vids from these sources while trying to decide if I really wanted to make the investment in both time and money. Glad I did.1 point

The same kind of naive thinking that this couple exhibited is what causes so many other poor real life decisions by progressive liberals. I understand that they want the world to be a peaceful and loving place, and if I could clap my hands and make that happen, I’d do it. Unfortunately, we live in the real world, which is sometimes a brutal, ugly and unsafe place. If more people really understood that, we wouldn’t have so many anti-gun groups, illegal alien protectors and snowflakes that get their feelings hurt when someone says something they don’t like or don’t agree with. I wish this couple hadn’t died, but I have little sympathy for them. They intentionally put themselves in a dangerous situation to try and prove a point that they were naively wrong about. I have more sympathy for their friends and family that survive with the heartache and loss of a loved one. Perhaps if any good is to come from this, it is that maybe their death will change the hearts and minds of others and make them realize that the world really isn’t a peaceful and loving place and probably never will be...I think history should teach us that, but the snowflakes just want to erase history so they don’t learn from it.1 point

I'm not selling squat for the school in general, but I am more than happy to donate, work, or whatever is needed for extracurricular activities such as sports. We had one coach who wouldn't accept a donation. He insisted we participate in a roadblock. I will not allow my family to stand in the road and beg for money. His wife got ran over in the road block and suffered a broken leg. Roadblocks are a bad idea.1 point

It’s not. Think around $650 or about the same price of the current .44’s. MSRP is $788.62.0 points

UnderArmor stock also got hit today due to the decline in sales at Dick’s, which Fox Business News correctly attributed to the decline in customers at Dick’s after many customers started boycotting Dick’s stores because of their gun sale policy changes. Hey, this is what happens when you act like Dick’s!0 points
