How does Nashville funding a boondoggle and lining the pockets of the developers/owners (who it appears will get at least 10 acres of the fairgrounds for their own use for private development, FREE) of the to be determined soccer team, equate to a Tennessee soccer team? You Nashville people need to handle business and start raising hell.2 points

Answer. Not. And after hearing WTN this morning, it may have a lot more negative reaction. Seems That Princess Megan and some of her cronies were holding clandestine meetings to get it started before the Council, and the public knew about it. Not unusual, but those involved and pushing for the public money to pay, and those controlling the fairground finances may have overstepped their limits.2 points

Got this in a trade with my shooting buddy. He got it as part of a 4 gun trade for one of his custom 1022s. Never seen anything like it and I have had a pile of .22 rifles. Barrel is a Wards Westernfield Mod 46 (Mossberg) "jammed" into a Marlin 81DL receiver. Tube has been cut to accept 5 rds. When you lay your cheek on the stock it aligns perfectly with the V-notch rear sight. This "shocked" me. Obviously the stock is chopped up. The inlay, scrolling and other stock work, cross hatch and finger grooves are the work of a loving somewhat primitive hand. The leather butt stock cover, although much worn, had to be the work of someone who really cared about their work. I used to make custom leather knife sheaths. However, the freestyle obviously hand filed 3/8 scope grooves weren't executed with much precision and the rings don't align when installed Shoots minute of squirrel head at 25 yrds every time you pull the trigger. The perfect fall day woods walker squirrel rifle.1 point

Monday my son & I were on our way back home from Asheville and since Bud's gun shop is only a few miles off our route home, we thought who can resist. So we stopped. I had no intension of swiping plastic for anything other than some 22 std vels.....maybe. That philosophy failed miserably since unknown to me Buds bought a bunch of these police Star BM 9mm pistols to dump on the market. The carot came in the shape of a big yellow sale tag on original boxed guns with the $199.99 digits printed largely across the center of the tag. Now I'v seen this sort of bate & sell before in shotgun news and other on line distributors with even better pricing but who knows what condition you end up with and the Star had a good rep but I never held one of these older steel frame BM guns in my hand. I had to fix my ignorance of the matter by getting to hold the sample on one of the 6 boxes in the case. Needless to say, I was quite impressed with the scaled down 1911 9mm! Further thought provoked me into getting all 6 guns out of their boxes and bingo, a near mint unit with about 90 percent hardly worn blueing. I jumped on it as did my son for the second best one. All I can say is wow.... what a deal on a very well made mini 1911 style 9mm. Very happy with its quality of craftsmanship. 36 feet off a wood block rest with wolf ammo I highly recommend these steel Star BM's as great "cant kill it" 9's...... that handle great box after box!1 point

Its the ultimate retro soviet machine. And the 4x4 ladas are actually good off roaders. They even made radio standard in 2016(?) But the three head lights have to go. And the glove box better be full of vodka. Archer style.1 point

Yeah they're trying really hard to get caught up. Mark owns the company but hasn't been personally involved in producing holsters for a while now, but recently took several 12-hour shifts on the shop floor building holsters to try to reduce the backlog. I've got two in the queue with them since the end of June. Hopefully soon! It has a full shield. It's very comfortable for me. I always wear an undershirt even with t-shirts, but it's comfortable even without that on the rare occasions that I abandon the practice for some reason.1 point

I’m pretty supportive of pro Soccer in Nashville. It has already been great for our community at large - pulling together our Kurdish and Latino communities as well as the rest of the population. The stadium deal has been less than transparent. I think that has as much to do with the chaos in the mayors office as anything. It’ll make money for the city in the long run. Certainly more than the current fairgrounds do.1 point

Perhaps he's conflating hunting regs. Meaning, for many years there has been nothing you can legally hunt in this state with buckshot. And of course you can't possess a prohibited gun/ammo during the act of hunting whether you're actually using it or not. Splitting hairs as to whether that includes in your vehicle too I guess. - OS1 point

Nope. Need is no homeless, hungry, victimized children. Soccer, well that is a want. Placing that want above true needs is a sign of just how low and immoral this country is becoming.1 point

Not against soccer coming here, not even against a new stadium, but the gummint needs to stay out of it,.1 point

I won't go into those countries either, and I can pass for a local; as a matter of fact I spent time there officially. I wouldn't try to walk through some of the Chicago neighborhoods on a Saturday night, hell I won't go into Lincoln Homes here in Clarksville for that matter, and I am sure there is no travel warnings about them.1 point

Erik88, I'm not going to get into a dumb debate about why you somehow think these dead people were supposedly likely safe. It didn't work out well. It was 100% predictable. The outcome speaks volumes. If you don't believe me, go grab a bike and take a ride in any "Stan" place and let us know how it turns out.1 point

You really need to get a better understanding of statistics. This is looking like troll stuff.1 point

I swear, some of you had probably never heard of this country before this article yet you are convinced their trip was equivalent to storming the beach at Normandy. Statistically, they probably had a better chance of dying in a car wreck at home than being killed in Tajikistan. Not every country that ends in "stan" is a hell hole. To clarify, the ONLY reason I knew about Tajikistan is because I'm a nerd that likes to study maps.1 point

I think loss of life in any event where young people die is a terrible loss and I do have feelings for the families of these kids. They have to live with their loss of their loved one forever and the way these young people die is particularly bad but it was what I considered a self inflicted death just like any other suicide which is pretty much what this was. There was zero chance they would make the complete trip. I wonder if they knew that before that set out on this trip?1 point

Atlanta has a MLS team and share Mercedes Benz Stadium with the Falcons. Can't see a need for both, certainly not with the tax payer subsidies that they will be wanting to build it with. You guys have to save up for that new MLB team you'll probably be getting.1 point

I think we need a soccer team (I like soccer, my son plays), but there should be no reason an existing football stadium could not be shared. Most of the middle school games I go to locally do just that.1 point

I watched all 8 episodes of this. They are very interesting and should especially be viewed by first responders and medical personnel. They show problems of preparedness for these events. Like the inability of Officers being able to communicate with responders from different agencies, and hospitals not being alerted to the amount of incoming and the inability to quickly put out a call for additional Doctors and Nurses. These stories are told by the first responders, victims, victims’ families, and Police and Medical administrators. There is very little anti-gun rhetoric; I don’t remember it being discussed much at all except by one victim’s Father in the Columbine episode. A lot more is known now about some of these shootings than was known at the time. You come away understanding more about some of the problems other than some nut case decided to start killing people. Like with the Navy Yard shooting. Both the family and the contract employer knew the severe mental problems Aaron Alexis had. He had no business being in there; but no one addressed the issues. Or the problem of getting the wounded to the hospital in the Aurora theater shooting. The shooter was in custody almost immediately upon arrival of the Police, but the ambulances couldn’t get to the back of the theater where the wounded were being brought. Cops started hauling victims out in their patrol cars to hospitals that weren’t informed of what they were facing. These are well prepared documentaries; worth the watch.1 point

I just find it difficult to have sympathy for folks like that, when men, women and children are dying over there due to no fault of their own, not to mention our troops that pay the ultimate sacrifice to attempt to bring safety to those regions. Don't get me wrong, I find no joy in their deaths, and do consider their killers the bad actors in this, but just like those idiots that intentionally cross into wild animal enclosures, like the hippo slapper, if they die in the attempt, I'll not shed a tear. Call me cold hearted if you will, but sympathy is hard to come by for those folks.1 point

I am glad you know that I didn't mean it respectfully. It isn't that I don't "get" anything. I'm thinking of it like this and from this standpoint. Generally speaking, if someone isn't a criminal with ill intent, I try to care for everyone. I noticed there were many people in this thread that were basically saying "I have no sympathy/they got what they deserved/etc". Did they make a foolish mistake? Yes! I don't disagree against that. But I don't think it is wrong to pity them, feel sorry for them and their families, show compassion for the situation, etc. Many people here are claiming that they could care less since "they deserved it" in certain words. I brought up the reckless mistakes part to hopefully just cause some introspective thought. People do stupid things everyday, most of them don't have to pay for it with their life. These people could have been anyone's friend, coworker, or family member. Although it was unwise, I personally feel as if a lot of the responses here were awfully cold/hardened against them because of their world outlook.1 point

Where is the "sympathy line" for some of you? Two people, whose greatest fault was naivety coupled with idealism, were brutally murdered. They may not have been smart in proceeding as they did, but they certainly did not deserve to be brutally murdered.1 point

They were naive and gullible, but no one deserves to be murdered because of that. If they'd encountered a few more challenges during their lives, and perhaps encountered some less savory people prior to their bike trip, they would probably have known better. Their sheltered lives and lack of real world experience led them to make an extremely poor choice that cost them their lives. That's not the same as deserving to be murdered by homicidal maniacs.1 point

Thanks. Although I'm not too sure how sincere that is. It was more of a "thanks for making me do that, that was $200 nearly". You know what I mean. Bought the Streamlight and ZULU. Figured it'd be an interested thing to compare to my Raven and X300. Hey... At what point do the established, involved, well respected members start getting a monthly gear allowance here on TGO?0 points
