  1. Monday my son & I were on our way back home from Asheville and since Bud's gun shop is only a few miles off our route home, we thought who can resist. So we stopped. I had no intension of swiping plastic for anything other than some 22 std vels.....maybe. That philosophy failed miserably since unknown to me Buds bought a bunch of these police Star BM 9mm pistols to dump on the market. The carot came in the shape of a big yellow sale tag on original boxed guns with the $199.99 digits printed largely across the center of the tag. Now I'v seen this sort of bate & sell before in shotgun news and other on line distributors with even better pricing but who knows what condition you end up with and the Star had a good rep but I never held one of these older steel frame BM guns in my hand. I had to fix my ignorance of the matter by getting to hold the sample on one of the 6 boxes in the case. Needless to say, I was quite impressed with the scaled down 1911 9mm! Further thought provoked me into getting all 6 guns out of their boxes and bingo, a near mint unit with about 90 percent hardly worn blueing. I jumped on it as did my son for the second best one. All I can say is wow.... what a deal on a very well made mini 1911 style 9mm. Very happy with its quality of craftsmanship. 36 feet off a wood block rest with wolf ammo I highly recommend these steel Star BM's as great "cant kill it" 9's...... that handle great box after box!

  2. I totally thought that sentence was going to go something like this: I have found in most cases, the only way to go anyplace like Buds and not swipe plastic is to bring cash.

  3. I don't have vinyl, but I still buy CD's. I probably have several hundred by now. The only reason I download music is when a CD isn't available. The CD wallet that lives in my car still holds way more music than my iPod.

  5. The HK P30 is an excellent gun. I am curious: What swayed you toward this over your Glock 19?

  7. I don't recall if it was posted here or not but it was big news in the various Drinkin' Bros groups on Facebook. My last two BRCC subscription orders have shipped from within Tennessee.

  8. As we, my wife and I, were leaving church last night, a lady friend of ours said she had something to show me. She had one of those cell phones that makes pictures, and she showed me a photo of her son (from a previous marriage) holding a flintlock rifle. The man in the picture was wearing the uniform of a Tennessee State Parks employee, and was holding the rifle while he wore those white cotton gloves. The rifle, she told me, was Davy Crockett's "Old Betsy." Her son is curator/coordinator for East Tennessee State Museums. Apparently the rifle was scheduled for some special event display and he got to handle it long enough to have his photo made with the rifle. Apparently at my church I'm known as a gun buff. 9. You're going to need a transformer. All of my experience is with 12V marine strips. Academy sports usually has light strips of different colors up by the kayaks. They're less than $10 and pretty good quality. I think they're probably all made in the same place. You just have to make sure that if you're going to cut it, you cut where it's indicated on the PCB. My kids and I have done a lot of projects with cheap LED strips like these and have never been disappointed: https://www.amazon.com/LED-Waterproof-RGB-Controller-DotStone/dp/B06Y15YVFN/ref=asc_df_B06Y15YVFN/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=241940266558&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=11522917711748930246&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9013085&hvtargid=pla-438333531342&psc=1 Here's a white version of the same: https://www.amazon.com/Flexible-Non-waterproof-Christmas-Decoration-Daylight/dp/B00HSF65MC/ref=sr_1_5?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1534861457&sr=1-5&keywords=white+led+strip

  10. Score one for PETA. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has gotten Nabisco to change the picture on its animal cracker boxes so the animals appear in an uncaged state. https://www.foxbusiness.com/retail/peta-gets-nabisco-to-free-animals-of-barnums-animals-crackers PETA, which has spent decades protesting the use of animals in circuses, wrote a letter to Nabisco's parent, Mondelez International, asking for the box that contains "Barnum's Animals" to get a new look. “Given the egregious cruelty inherent in circuses that use animals and the public’s swelling opposition to the exploitation of animals used for entertainment, we urge Nabisco to update its packaging in order to show animals who are free to roam in their natural habitats,” PETA said in its letter to Mondelez, according to the New York Post. The company agreed and now the animals appear roaming -- or at least posing -- freely. Read more.
