  3. Funny story about Fleetwood Mac. I was familiar with the band when they did Bare Trees and Mystery To Me albums. So I had a buddy at James Madison in Harrisonburg and in late 76 he called and said he had tickets for their show at James Madison. So I'm anticipating the blues band I was familiar with and they came out and did the Rumours album. This was just before they became the 70's radio gods that made them famous. Awesome show.

  4. Middle Tennessee Shooters Club in Manchester will be hosting a United Multigun League match on Sunday September 2nd. The UML ruleset can be found here http://unitedmultigunleague.com/uml-rules/ The following divisions will be recognized, tac optics, tac irons, heavy tac, open, 2x4 tactical, 2x4 open, pcc, 2gun (rifle/pistol) plus our traditional Heavy Metal division. With all the options available to the shooters it is difficult to give an exact round count but if you're shooting one of the 3 gun divisions 100 for each gun should be enough. For 2 gun bring 150 for each and pcc should bring 250 to 300. We will be shooting 5 stages, longest shot will be around 200 yards. No slings necessary. There will be a link posted for early sign up on practiscore or sign up at the match. Registration will be from 1100 to noon and we'll get started promptly thereafter. Match fee is $25 for non members of the range and $20 for members. If this will be your first time shooting a match please arrive early for a new shooters orientation. I can be reached here or at sumocrp@aol.com with any questions.

  5. Picked up an HK P30 V3 the other day : ) Replacing my Glock 19 as primary (but the Glock isn't going anywhere; I still like it).

  6. I would say they are getting smarter if they have moved it back in front of Thriller where it belongs.

  7. As we, my wife and I, were leaving church last night, a lady friend of ours said she had something to show me. She had one of those cell phones that makes pictures, and she showed me a photo of her son (from a previous marriage) holding a flintlock rifle. The man in the picture was wearing the uniform of a Tennessee State Parks employee, and was holding the rifle while he wore those white cotton gloves. The rifle, she told me, was Davy Crockett's "Old Betsy." Her son is curator/coordinator for East Tennessee State Museums. Apparently the rifle was scheduled for some special event display and he got to handle it long enough to have his photo made with the rifle. Apparently at my church I'm known as a gun buff. 10. I have the single shot .35W, it's a beast. I put a Witt Machine clamp-on brake. Now it shoots like a pussycat. I'd say it's a 200 yd gun, a poor man's 9.3 Mauser. 30-06 brass is readily available and fire-forms with no issues. You can also load brush gun loads with .38 bullets.

  12. I was completely taken aback as well. I'd never heard of Stevie Nicks and was expecting music akin to Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac! I always preferred Christy McVie's voice anyway, but it was an excellent show. Bare Trees and Mystery to Me are still 2 of my favorite albums. Great taste you have there Sir! I had a disappointing experience with Boz Scaggs when I saw him in London around the same time. I was expecting blues such as when he did "Loan Me a Dime" (awesome song). He came out on stage dressed like a Holiday Inn lounge performer, sit on a stool and performed like one. I felt betrayed...

  15. The Thing was a modernized copy of the Kübelwagen and was actually developed for the West German Army in the 60's, I think. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_181 I like old VWs.

  16. Check out Matt Groening's new project on Netflix called Disenchanted. I watched episode 1 last night. Pretty funny with the usual hidden jokes written on signs and in background scenes.

  17. I don’t doubt it; I just laughed out loud when I read that. I edit my music using MP3TAG and the GENRE list is so long to scroll though it is usually just faster for me to type that field in. When I was doing it, it reminded me of ammunition; everyone wants their name on something even if it’s already out there. So I had to look… but YACHT ROCK isn’t there; maybe next version.
