I agree with most of the picks so far. But I've always been a big fan of that little band from Texas. And surely, there's gotta be some Deadheads here!3 points

About 8 or 9 years ago myself and the rangemaster took several expired vests in various conditions and shot them them with all the rounds they were rated for. All the vests that were taken care of stopped them while the ragged vests that looked like a slob took care of them failed. The vest that was around 10 years expired held up against a 12 gauge slug.3 points

That sign just makes the sheeple feel better, it means nothing legally. And yes, the presence of drugs has no bearing. Hospitals, drug stores, doctors offices, etc. all have to be legally posted.2 points

The Stones are one of the greatest, but not the greatest. Not by a long shot. Their longevity and hits put them in top rankings but they have put out tons of crap over the years. On the other hand their bluesy stuff is exceptional. They are the most business savvy band in the business.2 points

I think you have nailed that one Raoul. The fans had more live access to their favorite bands back then. By live access I mean getting to see them live on stage at concerts. I regret never being much of a concert goer back then but I did get to attend to me the greatest concert ever. About 10 or 12 days before my deployment I got to go to Woodstock and that to me was the concert of all concerts. I don't know how many folks was her fan but I got to see Janice Joplin Perform Bobby Migee live on stage along side Hendrix on the guitar so does it get any better than that? Got to see CCR and The WHO . There was so many great stars there you could not see them all.2 points

One of the reasons rock did so well in the 70's is because of all the touring the bands did. Most every mid size city built a civic center . A band could tour the east coast alone for 4 to 6 months.2 points

I dug out my old Second Chance brand vest that I bought in 1995 when I was a reserve deputy with the sheriffs office. We had to buy our own equipment so I kept it and today I dug it out. It was made in 1995 and most Kevlar is rated or warranty for 5 years. It is soft body armor Kevlar with no metal plates. Mine shows that it is a level IIA and is rated for 9mm 124gr FMJ and 357mag 158gr JSP directly and any angle. It's also rated for .44 mag at perpendicular angles . Today I took out my panels and shot it with 9mm 147 gr FMJ and 45ACP 230gr . I shot it at a distance of 10 feet. It stopped them both. I shot it with 2 rds of each caliber. Just thought I'd share this since it was kinda neat . 23 years and it still stops bullets. And remember that heat is supposed to degrade Kevlar : I kept this vest in the trunk of my patrol car at my present day job as a "worst case scenario tool" , kinda redneck but putting more on cant hurt. Anyways I'm sure it got really hot in there for several years and now after 23 years it still works. Pretty neat huh ?1 point

I saw Jimi Hendrix perform at the Mid- South Colosseum in Memphis. I don't remember the exact year, but it was the late 60s. One Hell of a show!1 point

According to the history books on him, Jimi Hendrix did 217 performances and only 8 of them was south of the Mason-Dixon Line three in Georgia and five in Florida. Some in Texas. I got to see him in 1969 at Woodstock and heard him do the greatest version of the National Anthem I have ever heard. Was in the middle of a medly of songs and all at once broke into the Anthem. I learned later that he did the Anthem at almost every show where he performed in the United States. You can learn more about him on google.1 point

Not a band. While he had the “Experience” behind him, he was the talent. One of the greatest guitarists of all time, no doubt.1 point

Royal Range offers refinishing via their gunsmith AND they are a vendor here! We used to have another vendor that did only this but I can't recommend them at the moment. I'm all for the little guy succeeding but I also value when people shoot straight and just say "We got what we needed out of TGO" rather than make up some story about how they were going to get out of that business.1 point

1. CCR 2. Lynyrd Skynyrd 3. Beatles 4. Bob Seger/Silver Bullet Band 5. Little Feat. The list could get much longer with many of the above mentioned bands and more but you only asked for 5.1 point

Not a fan of his and just do not watch anything he does. As for stupid people, they are all around us.1 point

I guess for me the ultimate was the Allman brothers. Saw them in late 71 when Duane was still alive. Followed in 72 by the Who in Greensboro. Actually met, well at least saw up close and personal in the lobby of the 4 Seasons Hotel, the Who and had words with Daltrey and a couple of good looking blondes. I greatly enjoyed the 70's rock and roll scene and all that went with it.1 point

I’d be here all day trying to pick 5 or even 10, or more. We had the greatest music of all time. I’m sure all generations say that; but with us it’s an undisputed fact.1 point

Rich Davis (founder and developer of Second Chance) was a larger than life individual and near evangelical in his desire to get workable, and wearable, body armor into the hands of LEO's. Those videos are remarkable indeed. Trivia: Rich Davis was friends with John Ross and is quite obviously mentioned as "Davis Richards" in Ross's Book "Unintended Consequences".1 point

As much as it would be great to be able to travel the world without fear for harm or death, that's just not the case. Being an American in terrorist controlled areas goes against any logic. Perfect example of idealism gone wrong.1 point

You get used to it. I wore mine every day. I was stabbed in the back during a large family fight. I didn’t even know it until I heard another Officer yelling at a guy to get on the ground as he had him at gun point. I was surprised when he said “He just stabbed you”. I had a slit in my shirt and through the vest cover, but it didn’t go through the vest. Mine was just one of many cases of our Officers being shot or stabbed that was saved by a vest. We had to buy our own and there were mostly Second Chance soft body armor under our shirt. I see Officers today wearing much heavier stuff.1 point

I think I'd rather take a chance on being shot rather than wear a thick vest every day in the summer. I doubt it is optional for you guys though.1 point

Breathing may hurt after a hit to the vest, but it's better than the other options.1 point

I would have honestly believed that some of these politicians he is screwing with were in on it. However, once I saw the same politicians filing lawsuits and then Spencer resigning, I'm pretty much on board with the story that they are all simply being fooled. Really? Dropping one's pants as an attempt to disarm a terrorist? They would just shoot you.1 point

I use the DeSantis Super Fly on my LCP the shape looks like a wallet when it is in your pocket. The square part is Velcroed on if you want it smaller. I think I spent around $30 for mine so shop around. https://www.desantisholster.com/super-fly/1 point

If I can’t wear an untucked shirt or jacket, my carry is usually the LCP in a Desantis pocket holster.1 point

Agree on the M1s from Korea. I'd much rather have an M1 than a 1911. I really think they're pricing these for collectors with the recognition that demand will be high. Part of me thinks it would be better to spend the same amount of money on a real 1911... but part of me would like to have a GI issued 1911 as well. This will be a purchase for next year or later, not for this year.1 point

Did I read the total to be sold is 80,000? 8,000 - 10,000 per year until supply exhausted? I'm willing to wait until they figure out the sale and delivery is such a pain that demand drops... Shame we can't get a million M1 carbines from Korea and have a fire sale.1 point

I agree this is a lot of work. I looked into it all when tgey first announced them. You would think they were selling them for $200 on a Black Friday Special to require this much. I would have to join a club that I might never use just to be eligible. I would like one, but I doubt I would shell out the cash. I am not really a collector though. Plus if I bought it, I would feel obligated not to resell it at a profit after that much work even if I could.1 point
