  1. The politician is every bit as scared of a single bullet as they are an army. John Wilkes Booth used a percussion .44 caliber Philadelphia Derringer. That said, most believe he fired a .41 caliber ball out of the pistol. McKinley was show twice with a .32 caliber Iver Johnson revolver. A Browning Model 1910 in .380 kicked off WWI when an assassin used it to kill Archduke Ferdinand. Practically a pocket pistol. Reagan was shot with a pot metal framed Rohm RG-14 in .22LR. This isn't about the guns. It's about checking power.

  2. This isn't new. Cars from the 20s look alike. Cars from the 30's look alike. Cars from the 40's look alike and so on and so on. What changes is your level of caring. You don't care about the cars so you don't take the time to learn the small design details that tell you one from another. I think this is true of everyone and not just you. And its not just limited to cars. I bet most non gun people would say the same thing about all polymer pistols or about CZ75s, HiPowers and 1911s.

  3. The gun industry has a vested interest to get this issue under thumb rather than letting open source material mature alongside 3D printing capabilities. Try to keep that in mind when you hear President Trump consulted with the NRA. Also, think about how this will matter for firearms in 50 years, not today.

  4. Nothing makes me quit listening to a presentation faster than having data not clearly match across rows and down columns.

  5. Nor I, but I'm still concerned that the NRA is involved. Nothing good comes from them sticking their fingers in the pie when the manufacturers and others get concerned.

  6. A fact every journalist understands - Too much information will ruin a good story

  7. This could be equated to some of the oil industry reaction to alternative fuels and electric cars. While I don't think gun manufacturers have the same level of power, they coukd still push to kill this. The oil industry bought up lots of patents and companies only to shelve them in order to protect their oil sales. That kept innovation in those 2 fields at a standstill for years.

  9. You seem to get it. Maybe those other two will when they quit bickering. This is not about making guns in the grand scheme of things.

  10. Cars look so much alike these days that I can't tell them apart any more unless I can read the brand name on the car. I call them Cookie Cutters. All the companies are copying all the others ideas. That is why in most news broadcasts when a crime is committed and the bad guys get away in a car most times they said it was a black 4 door sedan or a white 4 door but seldom give a model................JMHO

  12. Tanker bought a Tisa. Didn't like it. Posted a bunch of stuff. Got banned later for some other stuff (unrelated). Now every time the date equals Pi x (the previous days stock market gains) divided by @TGO David's post count, someone comes and resurrects this thread. If it were possible I would mark it on my calendar, but it is an unexpected event:) I hope it never gets locked. I hope it lasts forever.

  13. A man boarded an airplane and took his seat. As he settled in, he glanced up and saw the most beautiful woman boarding the plane. He soon realized she was heading straight towards his seat. As fate would have it, she took the seat right beside his. Eager to strike up a conversation he blurted out, "Business trip or pleasure?" She turned, smiled and said, "Business. I'm going to the Annual Nymphomaniacs of America Convention in Boston " He swallowed hard. Here was the most gorgeous woman he had ever seen sitting next to him, and she was going to a meeting of nymphomaniacs. Struggling to maintain his composure, he calmly asked, "What's your business role at this convention?" "Lecturer," she responded. "I use information that I have learned from my personal experiences to debunk some of the popular myths about sexuality." "Really?" he said. "And what kind of myths are there?" "Well," she explained, "one popular myth is that African-American men are the most well-endowed of all men, when in fact it is the Native American Indian who is most likely to possess that trait. Another popular myth is that Frenchmen are the best lovers, when actually it is men of Jewish descent who are the best. I have also discovered that the lover with absolutely the best stamina is the Southern Redneck." Suddenly the woman became a little uncomfortable and blushed. "I'm sorry," she said, "I shouldn't really be discussing all of this with you. I don't even know your name." "Tonto," the man said, " Tonto Goldstein , but my friends call me Bubba."
