2. Even though it means letting go of one's ego, the best, smartest, and most "tactical" thing to ever do is avoid pulling a gun if possible. There are circumstances that warrant it, but there are many circumstances that don't warrant it. Even if you can de-escalate/leave a situation that warrants it, it is likely for the better for you not to. Ultimately, even if you are 100% in the right, wouldn't you rather go home to your family after a verbal "fight" in a parking lot rather than spend hours being questioned by police after a "good shoot", potentially followed by criminal or civil action depending on the details. I pick go home, take a shower rinsing yourself of your shame for leaving, have some whiskey on the rocks, and be glad you have the freedom to do that in your own house that someone isn't trying to take away from you.

 7. I was in a steak house in Houston one time where a party at a table next to us was making a big deal about everything - just to show what a big shot he was. He had complained about where they had been seated previously. He sent back an appetizer and rejected a bottle of wine. When the server came out with his steak, he asked for A1 and threw a fit when told they didn’t have it. The chef came out a minute later with the man’s jacket and kicked him out.

 12. Well I went and got the Secuity 9's little brother the LCPII . Same action with the small hidden hammer , the front slide serrations , last round slide hold open (unlike the older LCP) . I like it so far. It's the smallest carry gun I ever had. It has eaten Federal American Eagle 95 gr FMJ very well. I coated it real good with some Ballistol and now carrying it . This thing is really going to spoil me. Being able to put it in my pocket with it's supplied pocket holster without having to use a belt and holster is VERY convienent. I do like the Ruger supplied pocket holster that it came with but I ordered a DeSantis Superfly . It's a little more easier to get it out of the pocket.

 13. On the Florida shooting, after watching the video... With the Sherriff saying he was within the law, even if he is charged he probably won’t be convicted; just financially destroyed. I’ll take an azz whipping before I shoot someone. But then I wouldn’t be in that situation; I don’t get in arguments when I’m armed. However… because of the violent attack I couldn’t convict the shooter. Don’t be a thug; it could get you shot. I have a responsibility to my family. Besides staying alive, part of that responsibility is staying out of prison and not financially destroying the family. I have seen first hand as a cop how our legal system works; I do not want to test the deadly force laws.

 14. I like my steaks rare, well seasoned but lightly done. No sauces should be needed. My wife was a well done steak eater when we met. Nine years later she has hers medium, it's been a slow process.

 21. Classic is running the Star BM 9mm surplus pistols for $150. That's really a pretty good price for a nice compact size 9mm. They are 1911 style. I've got one I purchased from AIM several months ago and it's been a great shooter and fun gun. It's a little heavy compared to the polymer frame guns, but still I think a good value. It's pretty accurate and an easy shooter. I've updated a few things on mine and plan to give it a try for CCW. If you order one be sure to grab a couple of spare mags for $20 ea. https://www.classicfirearms.com/star-model-bm-9mm-8rd-original-box-manual-fair-condition?utm_source=bm23&utm_medium=email&utm_term=Image:+Star+Model+BM+SA+9mm+Semi-Auto,+4"+barrel,+8+Rd+Mag,+Original+Box+and+Manual+-+Surplus+-+Fair+to+Good+Surplus+Condition&utm_content=Special+Deal+On+Star+Model+BM+Pistols&utm_campaign=2018-07-23_StarModelBM&_bta_tid=08000453255476413427172220921536826126798580852209224883258073704786410786312845113842627835126078035207

 25. There is a difference in 'fear for one's life' vs. Reasonable fear for one's life. SYG only means one does not have to act to leave the area of confrontation. Andrew Branca discusses this in his book, The Law of Self Defense. There is also the principle of Proportionality. Being pushed down does not by itself warrant a shootable offense punishable by death. Without some more convincing evidence, it doesn't appear the act of shooting was reasonable by only the video evidence I have seen.

 27. Pocket carry is really convenient. It's easy and nearly invisible unless you wear tight pants. I'd also like to get my hands on a Security 9. So far, my occasional looks have come up empty.

 28. Well, the R.A.C.K meeting was fine but I didn't really learn that much from it. Last night I went to the S.M.A.R.C meeting in Alcoa and it was much better. They seemed to be far more outgoing than the former and more willing to share info.

 29. Love it. But, there's probably more cooked than raw on a sushi menu. All the shellfish is cooked. I like it all. But, if you wanna eat sushi without touching the raw stuff, just stick with shellfish and freshwater eel.

 33. shield with rebate around $300. for the $ I like the SCCY. double strike, lifetime warranty. Have personal knowledge of at least 8 of them with no complaints.

 34. I see them in a couple of pawnshops from $250 to $280 routinely. With the introduction of the 2.0 models, the Shield 1.0s seem to be have lost some value.

 35. I've been curious about the Security 9 too, but haven't had the chance to look at one. A friend of mine has the LCPII & loves it. As far as I know he's never had any problems out of it. He says the only issue is the cost of .380 ammo. The LCP & LCPII feel way too small for me so I pocket carry a LC9s & really like it.

 37. I've got about 100 rounds through my Security 9. Had one failure to feed in the first magazine, but no problems since then. And I'm feeding it garbage. I've been seriously considering swapping out my TCP for that LCPII for pocket carry.

 39. I have had a small NAA .22LR revolver but they are so small it was like a novelty type gun but this LCP II is way more practical. Plus I think center-fire ammo is more reliable.

 40. Looks and sounds good. Personally, I've not seen the LCPll, so I really can't make any intelligent comments on it. I will say it has to be better than the previous 2 LCP incarnations. lol

 44. If I'm paying for a steak, anything past rare is over cooked IMHO. I'm not going to judge a guy by how he orders his steak. However, if he puts ketchup on it then I may start judging.

 45. I have always ordered my steaks rare and when asked how rare I said when I put a knife in it I want it to Moooo!! There has been several times when I would be out with family and friends and order a steak a few people would ask for another table cause they knew my steak would be bloody depending on how aged the meat was. A well aged steak will not bleed when cut. I grilled a steak for supper last evening. On a very hot grill ready at 450 on gauge, steak hit the grill pad, cooked 3 minutes on each side and hit the plate. New York strip 1 inch thick. Darby liked it also. Believe it or not a 1 inch steak @450 degrees will reach 170 degrees in the center in just a tad over 2.5 minutes. I don't know if anyone had bought one of those Copper Chef Grill mats that Amazon sells but I bought 2 of them at Walgreens about a month ago and I dearly love them. Food cooks great on them and tastes great on them and they are dishwasher safe but I just run mine threw hot soapy dish water in sink.................
