I figured it was time for me to embrace the future and put a red dot sight on a Glock. I chose my Gen 4 Glock 19 for this and ordered a stripped slide from Suarez International done in their black Melonite treatment with plain black, suppressor-height, front and rear sights. I filled it with a set of stock Gen 4 Glock internals from Big Tex Outdoors, tossed in a Silencerco barrel that I've been sitting on for a while, and topped it off with a Trijicon RM07 6.5MOA red dot sight. It's riding on my Gen 4's frame with an Agency Arms minimalist magwell, a Streamlight TLR-7 light, a Crux Ordnance extended mag release, and a bit of thumb-index stippling done by yours truly with an ice-pick heated up with a BIC lighter. Just kidding. I used a woodburning tool, but I totally could have done that with a hot ice-pick. I may put a different trigger in it. I'm not sure. I am one of those weirdos who likes the OEM Glock Gen 4 trigger, but the trigger on my Gen 5 is just so damn nice that it has me thinking about an Agency or Apex trigger on this. We'll see.5 points

Not to mention a gun range death is far more relevant on a gun forum than a MVA.4 points

I've cast my own for a lot of years. Hard bullets and good lube have kept me going for a long time. Initial expense is high but will pay itself back quickly. Don't expect hi tech bullets with super expansion. But for plinking and target it can't be beat. Tried making my own lube years back. Butter flavored Crisco [what my wife had in the cupboard] and beeswax was what I used. Worked great but every time I went to the range, it smelled so good it made me hungry for a movie and a big bucket of popcorn.4 points

I am offshore in Finland, last week I got an email saying my Tax stamp finally came in so I can get my Suppressor when I get home in two weeks! i honestly forgot all about it but this was some great news for me and my trust!2 points

Heck, they may have models from last year or even a nice trade in. Can't hurt to call and see what they say. I also would prefer prices to show online, but on the flip side, they always end up either putting MSRP which no one pays or the lowest price with no real options included which also doesn't give a realistic price. On things like this I would call and talk to someone or preferably go and put my hands on them. I buy a lot of things based on my comfort level with the people as much as the product. Products for the most part are easy to compare. Service isn't.2 points

This is from last week. I'll check the cameras again tomorrow or Sunday. I'm excited to see how the new Command Ops camera worked. I put it on a trail that splits the property I hunt on. I planted some of that throw n grow food plot on it a couple weeks ago. I'll be able to watch deer on the trail and document food plot growth at the same time.1 point

Well. let me say this about the boats. They are 98% same boats. They both are welded 1 piece construction which I knew Tracker would go there eventually if they wanted to stay in the aluminum boat business and get away from the rivets. So the boat is really not as much of an issue as the price is and the dealers reputation in which your planning on doing business with. I don't know anyone at Bass Pro Shop/ Tracker/Nitro which is owned by Johnny Morris and Mercury so you gonna get a Mercury Motor with your boat. Your neasest warranty with Tracker is located at Bass Pro Shop. Triton is owned by Platium Equity which is a holding company that owns Triton, Ranger and Stratos boat companies. They don't own any boat dealers so when you buy one of those you should have your choice of what kind of motor you want and are willing to pay for. The top 2 sellers are Yamaha and Mercury and then you have Honda and Suzuki. With that said, I do know the owner of S&R Marine and have had dealings with them on several occasions and was always pleased. That is all I will say so I guess as they like to say the Boat is in your boat house on this one or the ball is in your court. Good luck with any decision you make.1 point

No idea. If I am lucky, I will get to take it to the range this weekend. Next week sometime is far more likely. It identifies as a black powder flint-lock pistol.1 point

Yeah, I think Trackers are the boats that the "cool kids" love to hate. I know several people who've had them - and a few that have moved on to bigger and better. But, I don't know anyone who has regretted buying one.1 point

I have a few boat dealers as clients...they get forced into bundle pricing on more entry-level stuff, the next bump in price is psuedo custom rigged. Can wait until end of season, then sit on yours until spring? Do you research now, when out and about and you see brands of interest being filled with gas or beer, ask the owner about his ride. Going back to Tracker as your baseline for comparison, visit a bass pro and lay hands on, look at fit and finish, welds, etc. I personally think they have a decent product at a competitive price point. Good luck with your search - keep us updated!1 point

I'm with you on this, Greg. I hate dealing with this stuff. Just tell me what the boat costs and be done with it.1 point

The Three Screw at top right still had a Super Blackhawk hammer. It is plain stock just as it came from the factory. For the life of me, I don't know why this should be.1 point

Yeah I live in the sticks also. Motion detectors got to be too much of a hassle for me, especially indoors. A few years ago my basement motion detector went off at 2:00 A.M. while we were sleeping and the indoor siren sounded. Talk about startled and not being able to hear anything (too long a story)! Has to be a spider / bug cross the face of the sensor or something shifted to trigger it. Windy days, birds and wildlife makes outdoor motion sensors a hassle too.1 point

Simple to remove striker. Clean out. I prefer Hornady Spray cleaner/lube. Pipe cleaners work in the tight space along with Qtip cleaners. https://video.search.yahoo.com/search/video?fr=mcafee&p=how+to+change+striker+in+M%26P#id=1&vid=04fea26ab5e80eea53753433077cc0d1&action=click1 point

I have been very happy with my Milwaukee 18v tools. I've had them now for probably 6 or 7 years, and the original batteries are still going strong. I have some Ryobi tools too, and their batteries have long since been replaced. The Milwaukee tools feel good in the hand, and just feel like they are solid tools, where the Ryobi's feel like toys. Not saying Ryobi's are bad, they are great for the price, and for the occasional around the house job, the Milwaukee's just feel like a serious upgrade. The Circular Saw just keeps on cutting. I do keep a corded circular saw around and use it if I'm sawing a lot, mostly just to not use up the battery, or sometimes I just want the extra power. But 9 times out of ten, I grab the cordless. A cordless sawzall is a gift from Heaven. For demolition work, it can't be beat. My Milwaukee sawzall is really stout and feels like I could use it as a hammer if needed (I don't). The Impact driver is the tool I use the most. Can't imagine not using one anymore. It's lightweight and powerful. With the larger battery, it will run all day long. I added the belt hook to mine, and then to my hammer drill after I found how useful it was. That made it way more convenient for working up on a ladder. Can't tell you how many times I dropped my impact driver from a 6' ladder, and it's no worse for the wear.1 point

No 686, not even the no-dash models, was ever pinned and recessed. S&W stopped pinning barrels before the first L-frame was made. People can ask whatever insane amounts they want for their guns, but selling them for that price is another matter. If you have the box and original grips, I think $650 would be a good deal for someone. If you have only the aftermarket grips, I think $650 will be an optimistic but perhaps not impossible figure. Hope this helps, Whisper1 point
