  1. All I want is someone who will read and adhere to the constitution. It ain't that hard really.

  2. The Dems had already done their nuke option under Reid to include all judges but SCOTUS, as they couldn't get BHO's appointments confirmed. Then Mitch did same for SCOTUS to get Gorsuch through. The tax cut was done in Senate by avoiding the 60% cloture on debate with some gray flimflam called the "Byrd Rule" that applied to fiscal legislation only. In short, the "rules" are whatever the party in power says they are. - OS

  3. They better not put anyone but Hard core conservatives on the nominee list. Im for upholding the constitution but we need to play the same hardball the dems play or well lose our country

  4. I rode this for 10-12 years... ... until I succumbed to the dirty side and got this...

  5. Ive had over 40 bikes since I started riding in the early 70's. All brands and styles, Motorcycles are my lifetime passion. Don't street ride a lot anymore because of all the distracted drivers, usually early morning blasts up the mountain. I still ride dirt every week and race a hare scramble once in a while. Ride a bunch of bikes and pick what fits you and your style. Theres tons of info out there theses days tohelp point you in the right direction. I had to chime in when the sportsters came up! Ive got a 1999 1200S, Ive owned it longer than any other bike Ive had. Its been through several rebuilds and upgrades. Ive thought about selling it, but just cant let it go. Ive put a lot of time and money into the engine and its my back road cruise missle lol.

  7. Which makes the midterms critical.....if the Dems retake the Senate they will do what McConnell did to Garland by refusing to hold confirmation hearings and waiting for the 2020 presidential election. IF this is true about Kennedy then Trump better have a replacement already queued up ready to go for confirmation and they'd better get that confirmation done before the midterms...just in case that blue wave materializes....

  8. Sooo, @56FordGuy found a 1965 IH Scout 80 that has spent the last 15 years sitting in a rancher’s field up in Wy-gnome-ing. Well, I bought the damn thing. We are in the planning stages right now for what direction the restoration will go, but he will be documenting its progress on his YouTube channel. (I’ll post a link once the first video goes up.) I’m really excited as I have loved the Scout and wanted one for years. Folks love to go on about the early Bronco, but the Scout came first. Here she is as she sits today.

  9. You might say I am well taken by the Super Blackhawk: The brass framed gun is one that I made my best field shot, taking a ground hog with a head shot at 110 yards. Bob Wright

  10. Well I took the plunge today and began setting up to move away from BOA(Bank of America) I got so many good reports about Wilson Bank & Trust that I am going with them. They were all very nice and made you feel like they were glad you were there. That home town bank feeling all banks use to have. There is a juggling act that needs to be done since I am on auto-deposit so I can't move any of my accounts till right after they make the deposit. Then I can pull everything from both of my accounts and close them after I go to Social Security Office and give them new bank accounts and request they use the new account beginning in August. That gives them a month to make the changes. I know a buddy of mine did the same thing but did it a week before his deposit and it took 2 months to get the mess corrected and get him his money. I will sure be glad to get a new bank.

  12. I do it too! That $20 does a lot and it adds up. I’ve been fortunate to get to know some patients that are alive today because of st Jude. A former patient introduced me to my wife . It’s an amazing place and the only charity I feel comfortable promoting because I know they use the money for research rather than BS and my friend’s 4 year old is still with us today because of st Jude. Anyways good luck with the transfer!

  13. While I don’t exactly agree with “hardcore conservatism”, or “ists”, I do want a conservative Supreme Court. I’d like to see a court that leans more to the right for the next 20 or 30 years.

  16. Everybody needs about 6 bikes... a trials bike, a woods bike, a MX bike, a street bike, a touring bike, and a track bike. And if you're ever over that way, go see... https://wheelsthroughtime.com/

  18. Yup! Schadenfreude is a compound of the German nouns Schaden, meaning "damage" or "harm," and Freude, meaning "joy," so it makes sense that schadenfreude means joy over some harm or misfortune suffered by another.

  19. Yea it is all those Federal judges Obama appointed in California that have been fighting Trumps blocking of immigrants coming in from the Middle East without first being vetted. You can be there won't be any California judges on Trumps list.............JMHO

  20. I do to every month I send them a check for $20. I know it's not much but I think if they get a lot of $20 donations it adds up. I know they want folks to get on that auto pay program but I don't trust anyone to have access to my accounts willingly. If they hack into it, that is out of my control.

  21. I've owned a lot of style bikes over my 63 years. They're all fun in my opinion. I sold my HD Road King last year because I just didn't road trip anymore. But I still have to scratch the itch now and then and bought this little Beemer 650 thumper. It's a fun bike for short trips and you can go from the road to a path in the woods, all the while getting 50+ mpg.

  24. Thanks, "I can see clearly now"... good song, but seriously, I can see it's quite problematic, and possibly a good way to "loose" a gun in the mail. Seems it's best to just stick to Face to face or FFL to FFL. Don't want to loose a gun... and don't want to get in trouble with big brother.

  26. I don't foresee it getting held up. Even on NPR this evening they were predicting a confirmation vote in time for the new justice to be seated before the next Supreme Court session begins in October.

  27. If it is held up, I fully expect the GOP to invoke Harry Reid and exercise the nuclear option.

  28. Ted Cruz is pushing Mike Lee. I think he would make a great Justice, but at the same time, I'd hate to lose a Conservative Senator. He's only 47 so he'd be around for a long time.

  29. Small local or regional banks have a true stake in their local economy. Banking Whores like BOA or Wachovia are only out there to control your money to expand their control of the banking system.

  30. This one is so critical...nothing would surprise me. Id say go nuclear on this one, if he nominates a real conservative and a younger one at that. Supreme Court Justices are arguably the most important thing a President does, or at least the most long acting thing. Change the rules and make it 51 to get a clear majority of conservatives on the bench.

  31. And John's a solid dude too. I met him at the Rangemaster Instructor Reunion in Athens GA a couple of weeks back and on a personal level I like him a lot. And appropriately enough for this thread he carried a HK VP9 with Red Dot. At the Reunion he did a presentation on the 21 things he has learned from watching all those gunfights on video and while it is "common sense" it was good to see someone who has done the research validate that.

  32. John Correia and his ASP (Active Self Protection) YT channel is an excellent resource and quite the reality check as well.

  33. I’m no expert, but the Active Self Protection account on YouTube shows alot of shootings and very few are a drag race to the draw. Many are shooting around innocent bystanders. With my RMR I can keep up with anyone in the draw and usually I can shoot better beyond 7 yards. I have to practice regularly to do this though.

  34. When I retired in 2013, I always wanted a BMW and settled for this 2003 F650GS. Iv had my bike drivers License since 75 and key in on at least one important aspect of riding. As any one who races dirt or street would tell you, weight is an important factor in the agility of a bike. So iv never gotten into anything bigger than an old 750 Honda. I scored this 650 with 4K miles for slightly more than 4K. Anything I ever need to do on it is on F650.com. Its about 425 lbs dry, 4.2 gal's under the seat, ABS, heated grips, fuel injected 50HP and solid 75 mpg holding it to general road speed limits. I put these bikes at 75/25 road to dirt. Not a good dirt bike due to a tall first gear and undersized siphon type radiator. They really should have put a 6 speed in these old 650's. Iv done a bunch of upgrade mods and only my not so good back keeps the hours off the bike. But what a great short hop scooter, perfect for a one dayer park picknic with the ol'lady. My 5 year old grandson loves the 1/3rd mile long drive way I have to boot!
