  1. New corollary to Godwin’s law - if your first post on this forum uses Hitler’s name in reference to someone other than Hitler - you’re not going to have the opportunity to post further.

  2. I have no doubt the kid is being used.

  3. Allowing him to exercise his First Amendment right without the threat of bodily harm or intimidation by a bunch of old men afraid of their shadows, and always worried about the chickens coming home to roost.

  4. Regardless what one thinks about David Hogg, his political views, or his motives, calling a (dumb) kid Hitler is not fair or productive. It’s also not acceptable as a thread title here. It reflects badly on all of us here so that’s being changed.

  5. If his first post involves calling someone a nazi and POS I can't imagine they will bring much value to the community.

  6. I too have no doubt about that, and I also have no doubt that he is unbelievably obnoxious!

  7. 18 isn't a kid or at least that age wasn't for me. He is one of the "My opinion/feelings are More Important than Your Rights" crowd.

  8. Calling him “Hitler” isn’t fair. He’s a school kid that survived a shooting and the killing of his classmates. He has his opinion and is free to speak it wherever they allow him to do so. His calls for gun control will have no more impact than any others. He is laying the ground work for his career in politics. But if he wants FedEx to refuse discounts to businesses that are members of the NRA; his political career will go down in flames.

  9. We are indeed a dying breed. Most of the nation is a bunch of creampuffs dependent on someone else to feed and protect them as well as tell them what to do. May God save the republic....

  10. Absolutely a shame! Dude should not have touched it while she was down range. As well as many other failures here. Very sad!

  15. You guys really need to read up on this little ....... especially who is financing him, who is behind him, who is egging him on. Check out the internet, check out the positive and the negative views on him. Pay special attention to who's opinion you're reading. If you value your 2A rights.

  16. Yeah, only the left can call names and get away with it. Ask Rosanne and Mrs bee. Conservatives can't ever say a thing that might offended but the left leaning folks can say whatever they want. In this young man's case he made his bed by spouting off as he has. Let him live with the consequences and find out the hard way that not everyone agrees with his opinion. And for sure not everyone likes his way of protesting. However he is entitled to his opinion and is free to express just as we are to express our. At least that is how it is supposed to work.

  17. Age doesn't matter. What kind of welcome do you think is appropriate for someone who wants to take your freedom & rights away?

  18. IMHO, I would say the opposite would be better. Let him come and speak his piece with no anti-protesters present (No additional attention). Hopefully a TV crew would be there filming him preaching to his choir. With the pull FedEx has in Memphis, if he disrupts their operation he might wind up sharing a cell with some of Memphis's finest.

  20. I have three 1912 Swedish Mausers, an m/96 an FSR m/96 and an m/41 and a total of 13 Swedes. Your stock is french walnut, chances are if the butt plate matches it is the original stock, the one crown stamp is indeed the first inspection before the rifle left Carl Gustafs. Your barrel is rated as a 2 which means some corrosion present in the lands but the Swedes were picky so it is still a fine bore. It was also measured at 6.51mm. which is pretty good. Should prove to be a fine shooter. PPU is decent but handloading with a fairly slow powder makes the Swedes shine.

  21. It's a very bad scene. I've known Sheriff Jeff Bledsoe for a very long time, and he is a very fine man, and a Godly man. His administration has had to go through this twice now. Please be praying for him, and for the deputy's family. Good hunting brothers. Good hunting.

  22. BOA isn’t a terrible company because of this. They are a terrible company because of their overall business practices. They simultaneously make the case for government regulation with the way the operate to the public detriment and against government regulation with the way in which they buy the legislators and regulators who pretend to keep them in line.

  23. Probably. It reminds me of that old riddle, "How do you make a little money in the gun business?" Answer: start with a lot of money. Running a business is really hard. Running a brick and mortar retail front is really hard. In the gun business you're doing that in a regulatory environment that would just assume you not exist. Add in rapidly depreciating inventory, customers who just come in to showroom and then order online, physical security, etc. and you've got an almost impossible hill to climb. The likelihood of you blowing your life savings is probably high. The probability of you coming to hate everything about the industry is probably even higher. It seems like there ought to be someone telling you this stuff up front - or maybe there is and people just don't listen.

  24. Just thought I would post up a couple pics of my new knife I got and the sheath I made for it. The knife of course was made by Grand Torino, book matched Ironwood scales with copper liners and pins. I felt the knife deserved a special sheath that would hopefully match it looks, so I got to designing, and this is what I came up with... The sheath is made as more of a high ride. I used a 1 Oz copper Gadsden coin to compliment the copper in the handle along with some distressed tan ostrich leg inlay, then dyed it black to set it all off. I think it does the knife justice. Thank you Grand Torino for the beautiful knife, I hope the sheath does it justice.

  26. As I’ve said before, the Dick’s I used to frequent when they sold guns & ammo, and got some great deals, stopped selling all such thing years ago. Long before this foolishness. Their business does not seem to be hurting at all with all the soccer moms, dads, and other assorted people shoppping there for whatever. There is a fully stocked Academy just a couple of miles away.

  27. The short version is that the little girl left the gun loaded and cocked while she went to look at the targets. Mom's boyfriend went to make the gun safe and shot her in the head. That is so completely careless that it makes me question whether it was an accident. https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/12-year-old-girl-shot-during-target-practice-near-cle-elum-has-died/

  28. They weren't making any money off guns to begin with. I would love to see them go bankrupt. But, I reckon the soccer moms don't share that.
