  2. Cities/counties can enact no gun legislation in this state except actual discharge of firearms, location of firing ranges, and carry by employees/contractors. - OS

  3. Nope, just another win for the gun-control crowd that pushes another encumbrance upon the average law-abiding citizen along with the other draconian procedures. We have enough problems without eating our own.

  4. As I’ve said before, the Dick’s I used to frequent when they sold guns & ammo, and got some great deals, stopped selling all such thing years ago. Long before this foolishness. Their business does not seem to be hurting at all with all the soccer moms, dads, and other assorted people shoppping there for whatever. There is a fully stocked Academy just a couple of miles away.

  5. Back in the day when CB's were a hot item I had one in my Dodge Ramcharger It was a Cobra 30 Channel with a power mic, 75 watt tube type leanear under the seat and 106 inches of steel whip antenna mounted to rear bumper. If I wanted to say something and channel 19 was full of traffic I would turn on the box under the seat and when I keyed the power mic and said something everyone heard what I hae to say for about 100 miles in ever direction. Woulld make folks mad from time to time but when you say Breaker Breaker 19 and get ignored that box got plenty of attention. I could be in Kingston Springs and get a smokie report from 25 miles out of Memphis on I-40. I use to talk skip at night to folks in about 27 or 28 different states as far away as Colorado. Had a lot of fun with them back then. A friend of mine that is still driving a big rig is still using my Cobra right now. It is about 40 years old and still working. Bought Ramcharger in 1977 and Cobra in 1978.

  6. A friend of mine runs a CB in his pickup and he also has a Black Bed Cover. He got a flat square piece of sheet steel, painted it black to match the cover and Gorilla Glued it to the bed cover and he uses a magnetic base CB antenna and can remove it and put it behind the seat of his truck when he is not using it. Says he can talk about 25 to 50 miles on it and more if he sticks it on the roof rather than the bed.

  7. And here we go again, legislators thinking more laws will stop the illegal use of drones. They tried registration, they tried licensing and now want manufacturers to make it easier to ID the pilot...like the criminals are not going to disable that.

  8. From everything I've seen they all ship with the X-ray sights. They had issues with the sig night sights and the front sight not holding up. If for some reason Bud's still had one with the regular night sights (I doubt) a call to Sig CS and you'll get a set of X-ray, which is what you saw at your LGS.

  9. There are some “less than lethal” options that would kill a drone (Bean bags, Rubber bullets, etc), happy hunting. “Technology” if you want to call it that, will catch up. Killing and blinding drones without danger to those around will soon become common place.

  10. I don't see a AWB happening on a state level anytime soon. Sure, we have a RINO governor, but the legislature is still solid conservative and not likely to change anytime soon. I know people are fleeing liberal states and moving to more free states, but excluding the OP, I'm hesitant to roll out the welcome wagon here in TN. A lot of these people are still deep down liberal, and are like a parasite. They destroy their current state until they can't take it anymore, they then move to a more conservative state, before long they start trying to change their new state to mirror where they came from, turning our good state into the crap hole they came from.

  11. Figured I'd update on my above comments. Sig CS sent me a RMA as soon as I talked to them. Gun sent and back in about a week with a rear sight replacement. 200 more rounds through it and no issues. 600 rounds total without a single FTE, FTF or slide lock back problem. Little gun is a keeper!

  12. That cat is sort of a rescue cat my son brought home. He's a nice cat but I've never saw a cat that eats and poops so much. Wags his tail like a dog and steals food from the dinner plates like a dog too. Sleeping in the window with no worries in the world.

  13. Far from being my favorite 9, but have to agree on the 19. It's just got so many things going for it that it's hard not to think of it in the top echelons of carry guns. Having said that...I'll most likely have my Shield and a spare mag or three with me most. Now...all my opinions aside, MRSpivey has it right. Whatever works for you. I have some Smith wheelies that I love. Some my Dad's, some I've acquired over the years. As indicated, I have Glocks, Smiths, Walthers, CZs, and a few Sigs thrown in for good measure. Even a Tauri or 2. lol My house gun(s) tend to be whatever I shoot easily enough that I can pick up and know what to do without fiddling around with buttons and levers. For me, that tends to be the G19 and a couple of Springfield SC9's. I bought the first SC9 many moons ago and had a CT Grip put on. Old and still functional. I change the battery(thanks to CT's Lifetime Battery deal) every year. The second, I traded into from a member here. Both are in convenient locations for easy access, but well hidden from sight. I'm not particularly great with any one of these, but I can use, fairly well I think, all of them. But picking an absolute is an exercise in futility for me. If I could keep only a few, I would probably have to go with Dad's K frame 38/357. Best all round gun I've ever shot. Not the best carry for me, but it can be done. Sorry, sort of wound up this morning.
