Dude, that's kind of what runs the internet right now. All of it. Your data is being monetized and you are the product. In the event of your credit card - if you read the terms and conditions - you'll note that you're more or less agreeing to let them do whatever they want with your data as a condition of using the card. Or, to put it more bluntly, you're agreeing to let them use your data in return for them agreeing to continue to cash flow your consumption. It was said many years ago about a different medium - but bears repetition. If you're not paying for it, you're the product - not the customer. We've been too willing for too long to trade our privacy for convenience. Now, maybe we're beginning to learn that the price wasn't worth it.3 points

Savage 12FV Cabella's special for $249OTD at Black Friday. Only added a Boyds AT One, has older Japanese Tasco 8-32. Off a rest at 175rds shot the last 6 of AE .223 into a nickel. To no practical purpose I suppose you could shorten the barrel, a bit more trigger adjustment and bed the action - you might shrink the group, but considering the price the accuracy is good enough. Match ammo might close the gap even more, but why...???2 points

SUAREZ INTERNATIONAL Winning the Gunfight July 6, 2018 Dayton, Tennessee Price $200 Instructor: Randy Harris This one day training session will do two things. One, it will show you the failings and inefficiencies of the vast majority of range training taking place in the USA by public and private sector entities. Two, it will show you what you can do, and how you can change your skills and training to not only survive an unexpected attack, but to decisively win a reactive gunfight. No live ammunition necessary for this course. This class is airsoft only. (Note - this is an FOF course) CLASS AND RANGE DETAILS DURATION: 1 Day TIME: 9:00AM to 5:00PM AMMUNITION: None RANGE & GEAR REQUIREMENTS: You MUST have a gas-operated airsoft pistol for this class. Electric or spring-operated guns are not suitable. A paintball mask/helmet, hooded sweatshirt and gloves are necessary. NOTE: Bring an adequate supply of CO2, green gas or propane and silicon lubricant to charge up the pistols. An extra magazine is important in case there is a problem with the primary. Also Helpful Bring spare clothing appropriate for the weather, including a hat, sunscreen, and bug repellent. Plan to bring lunch, snacks, and water (min 1 gallon per person) for the entire day unless driving to lunch is a viable option from the range location. Bring allergy medication (if needed), a chair (if you prefer), note taking supplies, and a boo boo kit (band aids, gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, antibiotic ointment and tape). You may wish to bring pads such as knee pads, elbow pads, and gloves if the class lends itself to that. RANGE: The Ridge 11534 Rhea County Hwy, Hwy 27 Dayton, TN 37321 423-605-4242 http://www.theridgeshooting.com/ For more info and to register for this class.....https://suarezinternational.com/hits-1-winning-the-gunfight-july-6-2018-dayton-tn/1 point

Sold a gun I wasn't using and used the funds to get a brand new S.A. XD9 Service size in gray . Then got a new Areo Precision lower for $49 . I think this was a win win situation. People always say stuff about the "gripzone" shown on the grip but it don't bother me. It's a tool . Gonna build a simple AR slowly but surely as I go . XD from Rural King and Areo Precision lower from Tn Gun Country .1 point

ACTIVISM not capitalism. And I can't believe how kind I am being, not just calling it 'leveraged blackmail' and be done. I gather Ruger hasn't enough $ to do a buyback of stock out from under these creatures. Nor no 'poison pill' maneuver to delouse with. Damned well should curtail, if not eliminate completely, the dividends, citing the anticipated loss of sales that these individuals are about to cause, and make sure that everyone NOT part of the problem knows EXACTLY who to tag. Sorry, the Tapatalk developers are SLOW to update for the new versions of our forum software. I'm on record numerous times on TGO talking about how much I hate them and the slapshod way their software integrates with ours.1 point

Concur on Cajun Gun Works for parts if you like to DIY. From customer testimonials, instructions and videos are spot on. Or let David and his team tune it up for you. Shoot it before you start spending, it's hard to get it back later.1 point

I took it as serious. I agree. I'm blown away by companies making knee jerk reactions to a tweet or whatever the flavor of the day is. So much for anti bullying campaigns. Everybody is in everybody's face.1 point

I’m not being glib at all. I’m fully serious. You take out the lasers and dark skies and we are in the opening scenes of a Philip K. Dick novel.1 point

It’s kind of ironic that capitalism might just be the end of the gun industry in this country, not the government. As another aside, Ruger sure has come a long way since their founder pulled a random number out of his rump and that is now the maximum capacity of magazines in many states.1 point

Erik, Honestly, the full size service pistols (and most mid sized) of reputable manufacture generally work fine. In fact, full size 1911s that are fed with Wilson mags and kept lubed tend to work fine. Most issues come from either aftermarket mags, or from cheap , or small guns and worst of all from cheap small guns...with aftermarket mags. That just seems to be the reality of it. But the ammo used sometimes has a hand in it too.... I'm generally not an early adopter of new stuff until it has been out for a year or so hopefully to work any bugs out. I'll probably get a Gen 5 glock sometime in late 2018 or early 19....Even the reputable manufacturers seemingly have adopted an alarming policy of using customers as beta testers for their products. How many recalls has Ruger had on new products in the last 10 years? And then there is the Sig 320 "not drop safe" debacle , The Glock 9mm Gen 4 initial issues (here's a clue... if you spring the gun optimally for .40 it won't work right with weak 9mm practice ammo) , so forth and so on. Don't take my earlier comment as a wholesale indictment of SIG. I have several 220 series Sigs (226, 220 ,229, P6) and would not hesitate to carry one. The "reliability is not everything" is a comment that (according to Todd Louis Green) was blurted out without much forethought by the Sig rep when FBI complained about reliability of the Sig 250 in testing. I have shot the 365 and it seems to be a nice pistol . But according to Lee, if you live in an arid dusty environment you might want to be real careful about keeping your mags clean. Or maybe Tom G just brings out the worst in mags. I hosted a Tom Givens Dynamic Marksmanship class back in 2008 in Ringgold Ga. My friend Derek brought his Browning HP . It was hot and dry and dusty (early August IIRC) and everytime one of his HP mags got dropped on the ground it had a fine film of red dust on it that clogged the mags and kept them from feeding reliably. He had to disassemble some and brush out the dust. My glock mags worked fine, but I also took them apart and cleaned them between day 1 and 2 just to be safe.....anything CAN malfunction. My general advice for reliable pistol function is to stick with factory mags (except for 1911s-Wilson works best in my experience), keep 'em relatively clean and keep the gun appropriately lubed for the environment and use decent ammo and it should work fine. And remember a class is a lot harder on your gun and equipment than an actual defensive use is.1 point

Being in the IT world data is King. There is very little that is not collected when possible. Data can be moved for all kinds of statistics and trending studies. It is amazing what we can get from vehicles and almost any system used for transactional work can be a treasure trove of data for those that have access.1 point

I was able to buy my old duty gun because we switched over to Gen 5 G17 in 9mm. This may be a regular old Glock 22 but it saved my life in March 15, 2012. I was able to pick it up today and its now all mine. I wont go into all the detail but when I needed it to fire it did. I was holding it with one hand and standing quite awkward. So for it to run when I needed it to , it shined. I got an Alpha Wolf 40-9mm conversion barrel and even a Glock 17 extractor , and the correct spring and plunger for it to be converted to 9mm. I'll still switch it back over to .40S&W to shoot some here and there but mainly 9mm through it.1 point
