  1. Savage 12FV Cabella's special for $249OTD at Black Friday. Only added a Boyds AT One, has older Japanese Tasco 8-32. Off a rest at 175rds shot the last 6 of AE .223 into a nickel. To no practical purpose I suppose you could shorten the barrel, a bit more trigger adjustment and bed the action - you might shrink the group, but considering the price the accuracy is good enough. Match ammo might close the gap even more, but why...???

  3. I've had one since fairly early on...in the 24K serial series. Never a problem, accurate, easy to rack & shoot. The take-down isn't a big deal once you get used to it. But it IS a bit of a niche gun, not for everyone. I do regularly CC mine...it's been very reliable.

  4. Yes indeed, a fine example of the 1909. When I went to Gunsmith school in 79 those 1909's were THE Mauser to sporterize simply due to the fact they were the only military 98 Mauser made with a hinged magazine floor plate. That distinction alone wiped out a portion of the 09's so yeah, that's a keeper for sure!

  6. I don't own a tuckable holster, hate them. My solution for deeper waistband concealment was a 4" max height handgun; that, plus a thin single stack may help with the tuck issue.
