  1. Bought a 1909 Argentine off a guy this past week, and don't know a ton about it yet. Thought everyone would appreciate it. I'm wondering what the differences are between this one and the 1891. I've loaded up 50 rounds of 7.65x53 to try out. She's a tall one Crest The bayonet looks like something Inigo Montoya would use to avenge the death of his father.

  2. I used to have a rule as an administrator. I'll look at an account crossways once, but generally not twice. I've loosened that up a lot in the last couple of years due to feelings running high in politics. But, I think I've seen every post you've made in the last couple of months, and not a one of them has anything supportive or positive to say. I think you've probably got some knowledge, but would rather tear people down than help them out. I'm really busy right now - so I'm going back to my previous rule. There are plenty of gun communities that are all criticism all the time. Good luck finding one that fits you. OP, congrats on the new rifle.

  3. I do agree some things were in the slippery slope area but the fact that all his family and a country/western female performer are stalking him and there was a lot of people heard him say that and the threat made with the AR at the swmming Pool wearing a pink dress and then putting the gun up , taking off the dress and jumping in the pool and they don't take away his guns. If I acted like that I would expect them to come to my door for sure knowing I possess those weapons..............JMHO

  5. Middle Tennessee Shooters Club in Manchester will be hosting a United Multigun League match on Sunday May 6th. We have decided to adopt the UML ruleset which can be found here http://unitedmultigunleague.com/uml-rules/ The following divisions will be recognized, tac optics, tac irons, heavy tac, open, 2x4 tactical, 2x4 open, pcc, 2gun (rifle/pistol) plus our traditional Heavy Metal division. With all the options available to the shooters it is difficult to give an exact round count but if you're shooting one of the 3 gun divisions 100 for each gun should be enough. For 2 gun bring 150 for each and pcc should bring 250 to 300. We will be shooting 5 stages, longest shot will be around 200 yards. No slings necessary. There will be a link posted for early sign up on practiscore or sign up at the match. Registration will be from 1100 to noon and we'll get started promptly thereafter. Match fee is $25 for non members of the range and $20 for members. If this will be your first time shooting a match please arrive early for a new shooters orientation. I can be reached here or at sumocrp@aol.com with any questions.

  10. If I'm spending that kind of money on a pistol, you can bet that it won't have a giant tacky manufacturer's roll mark on the slide. Just saying...

  12. Man, we've not had a thread go this far off the rails in a long time. @luke9511, congrats on the new SAINT. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

  14. As to love and attention from the media, if the hero had just shot the perp, I vote yes for the attention, which would be brief, and no for the love. I don't see any hint of media ever making any defensive gun use look good.

  15. i mostly shop for ammo when i need it, there is three gun stores where i live (i havent been to the third as it is still new) but academy is the easiest to get too

  16. Well, somehow we left the thread. I'd like to read about your range time, the Saint was about $250 more than the MP when I bought, though I recall the Saint having better furniture with easy bolt on accessory options. Regarding Academy, I have neutral feelings. Some prices seem competitive, others, higher than elsewhere. Normally a good selection of less common calibers if you're willing to pay. Not particularly convenient, so I rarely shop there

  17. Kudos to Kyle for grace under pressure. I hope his parents burn those guys to the ground for questioning a minor without a parent or counsel present. For all the talk about bullying these days, that's exactly what they tried to do. I'd guess anything he said would be inadmissible given the method in which in he was questioned. Reminds me (and other parents, I hope) to talk to my kids about that and make certain they know they're not obligated to say anything at all without a parent present.

  18. That useless POS for a sheriff and those that questioned this kid need to get a life....outside of law enforcement. Perhaps this lad shouldn't even been questioned without his parents or a lawyer present. There seems sooo many things wrong with this picture.

  19. Mine came Friday and I was so busy I laid it to the side of my desk and then I laid something on top and then forgotten. I uncovered it today and I was like...Christmas! This is one nice blade and it will cut a finger with ease. There may be a spot of blood on the box but it’s all good. Thanks Wills!

  22. We could bring back Chief Serpas to make the crime stats go down. Crime itself wouldn't go down, but the stats would look awesome again! He had some Cajun voodoo going on with his book-cooking recipes.

  25. I've seen rounds from every major ammo maker with no powder, no primer, primers in backwards, split casings and bullets pushed back in the case.

  26. When it comes to red dots in this price range, I’m a big fan of Primary Arms. I have one of their advanced micro red dots on an AR. While I wouldn’t call it a “go to war” sight, it’s rugged, holds zero, has great battery life, and clear glass. All in all it’s a much better product than one would expect for its price point.
