This just made my Friday. Watching Dave Grohl's reactions after he pulled this guy onstage in Austin on Wednesday is just great. No way he was expecting that level of competence: Got other examples of people just shining when they get their moment in the light? Post it up.6 points

So funny that you made this thread as a similar subject came up on Reddit today. In 1973 the drummer for The Who passed out on stage. They then asked if anyone in the crowd could play drums. 19 year old Scott Halpin stepped forward from the crowd and joined them on stage. The video isn't great but here it is. 1:39 mintues is when they ask the crowd for help. He starts drumming at 1:40 and went on to play the rest of the show with them. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scot_Halpin2 points

Its really pointless to SBR anything with all the pistol braces choices out there. I have 7.5", 11.5", 12.5", 14.5", 16", I prefer the 11.5" of them all. This is my truck gun, I wanted it as compact as possible, it's stupid loud!2 points

I suspect I am spoiled. I don't drive my personal vehicles anymore. I have a company vehicle with a company fuel card. I get that it has no bearing on the conversation at hand. I just wanted to remind myself of the small things that make my life awesome.2 points

I have an SB brace, and I am pretty fond of it. I too have a 14.5" pinned and welded. It is my go to rifle. I built a 7.5" pistol with a KAK can and the SB brace. It honestly isn't that much shorter, the LOP is much less. They handle similar. I would still take the 14.5" if I had to pick just one.2 points

Received mine today. Wow. It is an impressive piece of work, to say the least! A bit bigger than I really prefer, as my tastes run to a bit smaller knife. But for now, it will reside with my other TGO cutley. lol Thanks again Steve. You have once again outdone yourself.1 point

The 66 was/is the stainless version of the 19. Still Combat Magnum I reckon.1 point

Steve, these knives are absolutely amazing in every way. This is the pinnacle of what you've been able to do for TGO with Pro-Tech and I can't thank you or them enough. Anyone who opted to sit this one out for any reason other than having to meet other obligations first, should just hate themselves for skipping it. I am completely blown away by the quality of this knife. Wow. Just wow.1 point

Well I put my 4 of my Feeders up the day my buddy brought me the sugar. I thought I saw one that day but was not sure. I'm sure now!!! I've got 4 feeders up at present and 3 birds fighting over them so I will put up the second 4 tomorrow and that will have 8 up. I am going to buy 2 more and have 10 up until I have to move which now looks like late Fall early Winter and they should be gone by then anyway for the year. I will need them where I am going anyway cause my daughter has two feeders she puts up every year and always has birds fighting over them but she forgets to keep the water fresh sometimes so when I move out there we will have 12 feeders up and I will tend to them. I know a guy that lives about 8 miles from them and he always has 10+ birds every year so I'm hoping I can have that many or more!!!! It is so relaxing just sitting outside watching them put on their show.!!!!!1 point

Syria is not a big oil exporter, so it’s definitely not the issue . We are actually pretty much energy (oil) independent right now (never thought I’d see that happen ). The problem is the playing on people’s fears and knowledge deficits . People are dumb enough to think every country in the Middle East can alter the petroleum landscape, this simply isn’t true.1 point

I love it that the guy got up there looking like a frat guy from Abilene and just kills it.1 point

Some news sources said Syrian troubles. Since we don't get a ton of oil from Syria, my money is on the speculators.1 point

I talked to him on the phone a couple of years ago. My one and only letter was wrong, but he was most helpful in getting it corrected and a new one sent out.1 point

Truth here! I've had/seen issues with pretty much every ammo maker through the years, but it's a remarkably low percentage of occurrences. I've fired a fair amount of Freedom Munitions and used a lot of their components (X-treme bullets) in handloads and have been pleased with the results. I've probably had more issues with Winchester White box, but that's because it was once less expensive than handloading and therefore purely a volume thing. The best and safest practice is to check every round we placed in a mag, but sometimes it's just gonna be a bad round.1 point

I went with a complete DD mk18 upper but outside of that I’d go with 11.5 BCM barrel for a dependable upper. If you didn’t want to use DD that is. Trusts times are dropping quickly 6-7 months and maybe even less for SBR. But also keep in mind with all the brace choices now, may want to do pistol for ease of travel out of state and of course no tax stamp. The new SB brace is sold out everywhere and many people are going with PDW setups as well. I am running a SBM4 on the mk18 and also have a BA 11.5 with a KAK blade. So many choices these days.1 point

I noticed it coincided nicely with the missile launch on Syria. Wall street speculators have more control on gas prices than anyone.1 point

I might have to pick that up. Normally I pull this off the shelf for more detail.1 point

Here are some listed in the Standard Catalog. Beyond Combat Masterpiece, there was just a Masterpiece and a Masterpiece Magnum from what I see.1 point

You could go with a Phantom that has a polymer frame if you wanted the same size but lighter. Or you could go with the P-01 which is the compact version and aluminum frame.1 point

I love watching those mean little bastards. If they weren’t so tiny and pretty , we’d hate ‘em.1 point

Nope. As someone who started handloading in the late 1960s, I can assure you it's possible to learn it without Youtube or online forums. Books really do work. Cheers, Whisper1 point
