  2. Neither. There have always been men like him who seek power, and there will always be men like him who seek power. They are the men who are the reason why we jealously guard our right to keep arms.

  4. When we bought our house we stayed local. I shopped around a little bit, but only three places if I recall. The first (Quicken) was just to feel it out. I had a great credit rating (760+) and things went very smooth for us. We wound up with a <3.5% loan. The important part was to be realistic. We were approved for well over double what we paid for our home (that appraised for $40k over what we paid.) I wanted to keep my payment at a certain point. Even though we were approved for MUCH more, I didn't way to pay MUCH more on my mortgage over what I was paying for rent. To be honest, that was my biggest factor/concern. I see too many people get in trouble because someone told them they could afford a $2200 a month mortgage payment when they are used to paying a $700 a month rent payment. Also take into account that with taxes and insurance fluctuating, even if you have a fixed rate/term loan, your payment can change by +-$200 a month at any given time. This has also taught me the value of shopping my insurance, which has changed three times in as many years. Also, not sure if you are current HO, but take into account the cost of maintenance of owning your own home if you haven't already. That is another easy $1000+ a year I didn't take into account, even though I was thinking I was.

  6. It is because they want it to look like we are going to loose our gun rights. It creates fear within the gun community and it is that fear that generates income for them. I can guarantee they are sending out mailers demanding even more money to fight. They have plenty of money on hand to put up a strong fight but they refuse to do it so it looks like we are going to loose our gun rights. And the liberals do have something right, the NRA throws a lot of money at our representatives in Washington. Why would those in office not also benefit from this turmoil, they themselves have a hand in. I mean if the representatives we elected talk of restricting gun rights in comes the NRA to throw money at them. Perhaps it is time to start following the money and embarrassing those in power who take NRA money but do nothing to help gun owners. What are all these A+ NRA rated legislators doing for gun owners? We have a super majority and our gun rights are being stripped away faster than ever before. Remind me again how our representatives are representing those who elected them. They are only representing their own interests.

  8. If you are wanting to be able to play games with your Grandson online while you are both in separate locations than you will want to get the same console, as the majority of games do not crossover. If you just want something that you will play with him on your console when he's at your place I recommend the Xbox. Regardless which platform you choose check out the games "World of Tanks" and "Fortnite", both are free games that give you the option to spend real money if you so choose, both are fun for kids and adults alike and while guns and war are involved neither have graphic violence.

  10. Well I kinda know what brass looks like and I spent the funds to get a super good lighted Magnafine glass just to be able to do this and I can read the caliber on the base of each piece and if i does not clearly give the defined information it goes in the scrap pile. like the 38 Spl says it on the base of the brass that it is 38 Spl and 45 cal says 45 Cal so I'm thinking and yea they are Ronnie. The pictures below will show you where I am at present and I still am not seeing a dent in the 5 gallon bucket I began working on once I finished the 2.5 gallon pail I stated with. Had to take a break to fill a couple bait orders...........lol. I already sold 500 pieces to Grunt67 and he came by and picked them up.

  16. Just keep in mind that by shopping around they will most likely do a credit check each time. This does impact your score. That being said, I definitely agree with the advice above. Shopping around is the smart thing to do.

  17. I will just go by the bank today and get it all corrected and Get set up to receive a new Debit card with a new code and that way anyone that might have it stored it will no longer work for them. Bank said a card turn around time was 3 to 5 days max. That will give everything still in processing to clear.

  18. I'll be going to the rally in Nashville on April 14. As regards a massive pro-gun rally in DC sponsored by the NRA, there are many arguments against this. It's expensive, and will cost our side much more than it does our opponents. They get hours of free and uncritical media coverage -- Gannett boasted about how their various newspapers collaborated to cover anti-gun activities as widely as possible. Media coverage of the anti-gun rally was totally supportive; coverage of a pro-gun rally would consist mainly of trying to interview participants and trip them up and get them to say something stupid. Coverage of the anti-gun rally focused on finding telegenic young people who've had media training; coverage of our rally would consist of finding an inarticulate 300-pound guy in overalls and a ZZ Top beard and a MAGA hat to speak for our point of view. The NRA spends its limited funds supporting pro-gun candidates (some of whom, as Dolomite_supafly correctly notes, do nothing in return, and some of whom, like Fla. Gov. Rick Scott, are traitors) and opposing anti-gunners. Rallies catch the TV crews, but the near-total absence of honest news media means an NRA rally in Washington would not get unbiased coverage. Politicians pay attention to the news media, but in the end, the vast majority of them care for nothing except money and votes. That's where the NRA should focus its efforts. Cheers, Whisper

  19. A lot of browsers (especially Chrome) will save your credit card info whenever you make a legitimate purchase, and then auto populate the fields on a web page where you buy something from a different site. If your browser has your info saved, it's possible that it may have populated the web form, and then you clicked thru it and accidentally made the purchase.

  20. Bell bottoms are due a comeback any day now. They were big in the `70s, and kids my age were rocking the JNCOs in the `90s...

  21. You didn't mess anything up for me, but I think it's a good reminder for everyone to pay attention when they're shopping online. One thing that *could* come of it if you don't call the bank and cancel your reversal of that credit card charge, though, is that the FPC could get dinged by their bank. Any business that gets dinged too many times for "fraudulent" charges will eventually have their account cancelled by the bank.

  22. It's been a while since I applied for a mortgage, but since you say you've got "pretty good credit", it would not hurt to talk to several different and LOCAL lenders to see what they offer. If you know your FICO credit score (available from several sources), you can provide that to the lender during the initial discussion. They can then give you some idea of what they would offer in terms of interest rate and terms. You don't have to go 30 yrs, you can go shorter and the rates will be different for each length of the mortgage term. Use some common sense and ask lots of questions. It is a complicated process, and you will have to jump thru many hoops, but a local lender can be easier to deal with in person/face to face than someone on the phone 3 states over.

  24. I have been shooting a red dot sight in USPSA matches for about 10 months. That's not the same as a defensive gun, but it's not much different. Dry fire repetition is definitely critical to develop a natural index/point of aim. This is true for every gun, but especially so for dot sights. Inside 12 yards or so, I am still faster with iron sights. The red dot is easier to shoot at speed past that though. I've shot a Trijicon, but I have a Leupold Delta Point Pro with the 7.5 triangle. Last year at a match, I learned why I will never carry one. The temperature was about 75 and it was very muggy and the sight fogged up as soon as I took it out of my range bag. It was useless for a couple minutes. Getting out of a car into a high humidity environment could make for a bad day if you needed the gun quickly.

  27. What Stevens is suggesting is exactly how the Constitution allows us to amend it, a process which has happened multiple times. We for sure don't agree with it, but we can't deny that it's the process by which we've consented to being governed. Also, it's the one permissible avenue I've seen for what gun control advocates actually want. Stevens just has the candor to voice it aloud where the rest dance around it as some kind of unmentionable...preferring to just ignore the laws applications. As someone who has taken up arms in service to the country, I'd say you're quite wrong. I couldn't even imagine who the enemy of the United States would be in your scenario, besides the mythical "them" or "the left", but voicing an opinion in a democracy is as opposite to treason as I can imagine.

  29. It’s not getting any closer. If you look at the requirements to repeal the 2nd amendment; they could never be met. That’s why the liberals haven’t tried. Gun control by the individual states is the closest they will ever get; and that could happen. But they still have to be reasonable restrictions.

  30. One relic commenting on another supposed relic, I suppose. I will acknowledge his right to say such a thing. Respect it? Never. It flies in the face of everyone who has taken arms, living and dead, in service to this country. That a former member of SCOTUS should say such a thing, IMO, falls under the "aid and comfort" clause of U. S. Code, Title 18, Part I, Chapter 115, paragraph 2381. SWC

  32. So, why is this something only the anti-gun crowd can do? The NRA's IRS Form 990 filed last September showed $36 million on hand after expenses. What's stopping them from doing the same thing and getting pro-gun people walking the streets of DC and in swing states with adequate funding to support? They manage to get an annual convention/trade show organized year after year, so you can't say they don't have the needed resources.

I have a nephew, his wife and their daughter coming in from Alaska.(He works on one of them boats you see on TV) I have not seen him in many years, never have meet his wife or daughter. Might not get another chance. That said I will be at the State Capitol at 1pm CDT on Saturday April 14, 2018 to show my support for our 2nd Amendment rights and to support our Constitution. There if I can do this! I want to see more there! YALL HAVE BEEN CALLED OUT!!!
